ARROWHEAD BRICK PAVERS

Arrowhead did an amazing job from start to finish. Jim Mayorga was very professional and got my vision of what I exactly wanted for a patio. The company crew worked very hard and efficiently to get the job done in a timely matter. I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to create an outdoor space. I will be putting up pictures soon of our patio and looking forward to working with them once again to continue our next phase for our outdoor space.

To begin when I called the woman who answered the phone wasn't even sure if the company would come out to where I live so she was hesitant to book an appointment for Mark to visit. So when Mark actually arrived about 2 weeks later for our tentatively scheduled appointment, I was caught off guard because I never received a confirmation call that they would indeed consider taking on the project. Mark was very personable and nice to work with. He was the first estimate we received so by the time we had finished getting 4 other bids, I quickly learned that Mark wasn't as transparent about the types of materials and processes he used to prep the yard for the paver patio. Our list of follow-up questions was so lengthy that we couldn't even get through all of them with him and at thst point we just knew we didn't feel 100% confident that the quality was there. I don't think Mark has anything to hide but I do feel that he could be forthcoming with the information on the type of gravel he uses and how deep are the stakes he intends on using, especially since the key problem with having our existing paver patio (that was purchased with the home) was that the proper base wasn't put down so the patio has completely sunk and is slanted. We loved Mark's design and give him an A+ for using Unilock's design rendering software. One other bit of feedback would be to move to an electronic proposal vs. a handwritten bid that was difficult to read and very hard to understand the breakdown since there were numbers written all over. Mark is responsive though and I believe he would have provided great customer service; we just weren't confident in the quality of work that would result. I also thought he was competitive on price but the challenge was trying to understand what we were actually receiving from Mark besides the obvious line items (e.g. what kind of base gravel is used, how do you handle getting permits from the village, did the design reflect what was actually priced out - including the border brick, etc). Overall - more clarity on the estimate would provide more confidence right off the bat. And I suggest you have him spray paint the design in your grass while he is out there so expectations are clear. The 3D design emailed to us didn't look to scale so it looked like it took up the entire backyard on that side which we didn't want.

My wife and I had a number of brick paving companies give us estimates to install a 500-600 sq ft backyard brick patio. The estimates ranged from $15,000 to as high as $30,000 for the same work! My wife and I were most impressed with Mark at Arrowhead. He had some great ideas for the backyard, and we just enjoyed working with him. He as very patient with us, as we went back forth multiply time trying to pick out the right paver combination. The patio was installed within 4 days, and it's incredible!! Probably the best investment we've made for this house. My only feedback would be that I wish we were given a heads-up to cover furniture (or other items) that were outside. The brick dust got into the fabric of our outdoor furniture and we had to replace the cushions (which aren't cheap). Overall, I'd highly recommend Arrowhead Brick Pavers. Top notch service and great prices!

I am very pleased with the experience I had with Arrowhead Brick Pavers and would definitely recommend Arrowhead for any paving projects! I first met with Mark when he came to the house for an estimate. He was very responsive, punctual and professional throughout the entire process. His team did a great job with the install and they were very thorough with the construction and completion of the patio. We are very pleased with the end result, great company!

Jim, the owner, came to my home and I explained the scope of work. We discussed paver and design options. He emailed me the design and estimate the very next day. I went with this contractor because his quote was $4000 less than the quote from another contractor. Jim also offered more design options and improvements than the previous contractor. A few days later, Jim brought over samples and we fine tuned the design. He had good suggestions on the design and use of accent pavers to achieve a visual "Wow". We discussed when the work would begin. Jim took care of getting the building permits from the Village. Work started on a Monday. (He did send a crew on the previous Thursday to remove the old wooden deck.) The crew arrived promptly at 8 AM. Jim was also there and introduced me to his foreman for this job. By the first day, the patio was a third installed. The concrete driveway was removed on Wednesday. On Thursday, the crew finished installing the pavers for the patio and began the installing the driveway pavers. On Friday, the carpenters came to install the cedar pergola for the patio and the crew worked on the 8' x 6' patio and the driveway. Although Jim told me that they would complete the work on the following Tuesday, all of the work was done on the following Monday. Jim came to my home at the beginning and end of every work day. We walked around the work that had been done, we discussed the progress of the installation and he answered all of my concerns. The crew was always prompt, polite, and were tolerant of my barking dog that did not like strangers around his house. They cleaned up the site every day before they left ,and were polite if I had any questions or concerns during the installation. They installed sod around the patios and driveway to cover the disturbed dirt around the installations. All removed debris was recycled. The driveway, patio, pergola and small patio all look great. Some of my neighbors have told me that they have "house envy" now.

I called Arrowhead and explained what I was looking for and was told someone would call me back. JIm called me about an hour later and we set up an appointment in a couple of days for an estimate. He was on time and in fact a little early, as I was tied up in traffic. I explained what we wanted done and told him the type of brick we were interested in and the color. He measured the area we wanted done, drew a sketch, and gave me a brochure with all the different brick products to review, and said that he would put some figures together, and email me. We received his email the next day, with the cost, how long it would take, and a price; everything was spelled out. I asked if he could stop by with some samples when my husband was home so that we can make sure we were picking the right product and color. He stopped by in a day or so with samples, we had asked him for his honest opinion (being that he does this for a living)because we didn't want to pick the wrong color/product. He gave us a few suggestions, and we talked about a border, he said that he would drop off a couple of different borders we can add. The borders were dropped off the next day. We made our choices, discussed the new price with our additions, he said that it would be at least 3 or 4 weeks before he was able to start the job, and would notify us. We gave him a small deposit of $100.00. It ended up being only 3 weeks, we set a date, and they came out. Jim came out and was on time, we went over everything to make sure we were both on the same page. His crew then showed up 1o minutes later. He introduced me to his foreman, and then he went over everything with the foreman that needed to be done. Jim said that if I had any questions/concerns I could talk to the foreman and he would take care of it. Then Jim left and his crew began. They were very professional and worked very hard. After they were done the called me to look at the job, and ask if I had any questions. They cleaned up everything and while they were still there Jim showed up. He asked if I was happy with the work, I said yes. After a couple of days my husband noticed that it was a little off by the apron. We called Jim and he came out within a couple of days. He said that he would take care of it but it might be a week or so, because they were finishing up on other jobs. We said that he would be alright. He came back after about a week and fixed it while we were at work. He then called and asked if everything was alright and it was.

My cedar deck's deterioration was getting to the point where I was no longer going to waste money on stain. My neighbor had gotten a price to do a brick paver patio from Arrowhead Brick Pavers. I called up, and made an appointment with Jim, one of the owners a year ago. Jim walked us through all of the selections in the Unilock catalog. Unilock has come a long way with their products, and there were a variety of great looking options to choose from. Jim drew up a plan for the new patio, and priced the work. Surprisingly it was not too much more than a new wood deck, and I will never have to stain it again! We called Jim back a year later. He held his price, and we negotiated a few other small items. I work in construction, and one problem I have always had with residential contractors is scheduling, showing up, and staying through completion of the work. Arrowhead calls you to schedule the work, and they call and notify you if they need to leave or won't be showing up do to rain etc. Jim has a smart phone and we stayed in contact through texting and phone calls. I felt that there was terrific communication through the whole process. I would say I was a difficult client, and Jim worked with me through completion. Arrowhead has a 3 year warranty. Our job is finished and we are very pleased. I plan to do the driveway and walkup in brick pavers in a few years and will use Arrowhead again. Give them a call.

Jim arrived on time to view the projects. We received our estimate the next day. Pricing was within our budget. Work began 5 weeks later. Both projects are beautiful and we have received many compliments.

Mark Dalkiand Arrowhead Pavers were really terrific to work with. Mark came by promptly for the the quote, submitted some great ideas, and did a terrific job working with choosing colors and getting the job approved with Elgin. Arrowhead did everything they said they would and our patio and sidewalk look fantastic. We also found his price to be fair compared to other contractors and his service to be superb. Highly recommend!

Waited all day and they didn't show up. Called and said that they couldn't because they had another appointment... even though I had a scheduled appointment. Never called! Second time, didn't show up again but this time I didn't bother to call them back! No reason to call a provider that doesn't even show to give a quote

Fantastic. Arrowhead and Bill Liss was a pleasure to work with. Not only were their prices competitive and fair, we felt they provided the best value for our investment. They were able to schedule the installation to be completed prior to an outdoor event we planned to host and the crew was nothing but accommodating, even in 95+ degree weather! Bill came by several times before, during and after to see how the project was going and how it was completed. I deliberately withheld my review a couple of years to discern how the project is holding up. It still looks brand new and we enjoy our patio immensely. Will definitely work with again.

From the minute I called and left a message at arrowhead they returned my call promptly and fit me in for an appt within a week. Jim came out and took his time with me, reviewing our current 2 patios that we have, giving me ideas, sketching out ideas on a pad which is extremely helpful since I am a very visual person. He showed me ideas, in all cost ranges which made me appreciate that he wanted me to be happy, and wasn't simply trying to upsell me. Within a day he sent me over a detailed proposal with the sketch that we talked about and came in at a price that was within our budget. I called him with some questions and he spent 45 minutes on the phone with me to review all the questions I had. He even rearranged his calendar to fit us in for this coming Saturday so that he can sit down with my husband and I to review the current plan, note changes so we can receive a final proposal. I have talked to and received quotes from 6 different contractors and I have to say that Arrowhead has been the most professional, thorough and convenient to work with. I look forward to finalizing the details of this project and having Arrowhead complete the work so that I can write another positive review for the work they performed.

Be careful if hiring Arrowhead Brick Pavers, they work unsafely and lack accountability. While working to break up the concrete of our driveway, their guys put small metal equipment right in front of my car which was parked on the street and did not mark it off in any way (no cones, horses, flags), nothing. I could not see the metal piece from the driver?s seat because it was so close to my car (literally underneath) and very low to the ground. When I started driving it scraped my car all up ? over $2,200 in damages according to my estimate. When we tried to talk to them about it, they said it was not their problem. NOT THEIR PROBLEM?! Why would their guys put equipment in front of my car, in the street and not mark or flag it in any way. Now, 9 months later (yes, I know it took me too long ? I had way too much on my plate at the time and the fact that my car was drivable meant I delayed repairs for far too long), they still contend that this is not their problem and are not willing to do anything to help me get it fixed. They are not denying that their guys did these things, which caused this damage, they just don?t care. Irresponsible and unsafe business practices ? not a company I want to work with.

Wonderful experience. I couldn't be happier. They gave me a very fair bid for our project and a beautiful plan. I was so impressed with their punctuality. They showed up every single day exactly on time and worked really hard all day. They finished on the day they said they would, even with some rain one of the days. My yard was cleaned up perfect and no damage at all which was impressive considering how many pallets of brick were hauled to my backyard for this large project. The finished product was even better than I anticipated, it looks beautiful. Arrowhead did a wonderful job, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. We are extremely happy, I wouldn't use anyone else. Great job!

Working with Arrowhead was great. They are very responsive. They were very patient with us as we considered variations on our project over the course of a few months, and we're glad to come out and provide a completely updated estimate when we requested one. They were able to multiple aspects of our project - handling the permit process with the village, and also recommending an electrician which they worked with regularly to handle the lighting aspects of the project. Their installation crew was punctual, careful of our yard/siding/etc., attentive to the detail of what we wanted done, polite, and cleaned up very well on completion.

We worked with Jim to design the patio and schedule the work. The crew arrived on time and finished the project in one day. They did a good job and we are already enjoying our patio. We liked working with Jim and we would definitely use Arrowhead in the future for other projects. The one thing about the patio I am not happy with is the size of the drains that were put into the walls, they are not the same size. One is larger than the other.

i would call this company first if I need any paver work completed.

The patio is buckling and the bricks are falling away from the patio. Water is was gathering at the base of my stairs and was finally fixed after two repairs and their border repair has failed. I've complained numerous times and they refuse to contact me back.

This is a top-notch company. I made an appointment with Jim and he came out on the appointed date, on time, and prepared. He brought with him a design book and sample materials. After explaining my vision of a new walkway, steps, and stoop, he showed me similar, completed projects in the design book, and projects using different materials. He explained how the work would be done, the warranties of product and workmanship, and gave an estimated time line. Within a day or two, I received an estimate and a drawing of the plan via email. My husband and I went out to the Unilock company site, and saw the various pavers applied throughout the property. This was helpful to us to actually see the colors, various materials, and installation. After we decided which pavers we wanted, we committed to a contract. The workmen came out on the agreed-upon date and completed the project within the time line. We have a beautiful new stoop, stairs and walkways! The men knew their job and did it well. Jim was fantastic- he called when he said he would, came out when he said he would, and was in every way a professional. He was on the project daily, overseeing the work and attending to details. We've had higher estimates, and lower estimates, from other companies. We've had appointments with other contractors who were no-shows. I had one contractor who didn't consider my ideas, and pushed for his vision which required a different scale, layout and more materials, resulting in much higher expense. With Arrowhead, it was refreshing to be heard, have everything done well and as planned. I highly recommend Arrowhead Brick Pavers, and would certainly use them again for future projects.

I am currently doing quite a bit of re-modeling to my house and Mark and his team are the only one of 9 different contractors to whom I can give an almost unqualified A. Mark met me several times prior to the work to assess design, brick choice, pergola design. He was also on site for a time almost every day to inspect the work and spent a lot of effort at the beginning of the project determining how to re-design the patio once JULIE had marked utilities. The pergola is constructed by a different company with whom he contracts, but it was up in a day. Mark came when he said he would and his men worked diligently and professionally. The price was the most reasonable of the serious offers I received and he stayed within it. I found him to be absolutely trustworthy and would recommend him in a heartbeat (which I did!). If there were any marks down, they were for the following: Mark didn't seem to realize that Naperville had recently changed its rules and now requires Permits for gazebos (I discovered this myself while looking for kitchen permits). However, he then did all the work to get the permit and the start was only marginally delayed. A lot of brick needed to be cut and there was dust over the windows and siding of the rear of the house. I will need to get the windows professionally cleaned. The crew left a small series of 5 stones on the seating wall unglued and did not the best job of clearing up my yard afterward. However, when I called Mark about this he came directly himself and did it. These minor things are not enough for me to take away from the overall A, especially given the experiences I am now having with some other contractors.

Mark Dalki and his company Arrowhead are exceptional. He is a great guy and his design sensibilities are spot on. He helped us design our new patio and the finished product is the best thing we have done for the house in the 20 plus years we have lived there. We now have a beautiful outdoor living space that gets us outside everyday. Mark did not push the sale and despite how busy he is, he was extremely patient with us as we mulled over design options and material choices. His knowledge of the products and understanding of space and dimension was like having our own landscape architect This was really appreciated. Mark is extremely busy, with good reason, but when he said he would start the job, he honored his word and once his team begins on site, they knock themselves out. Mark's employees and foremen are totally professional and watching them as they measure, cut and install is something to see. Two of my friends saw my patio and both ended up hiring Mark to do their own. I highly recommend Mark if beauty, quality and price are important to you.

Great job from start to finish. I received bids from 4 different companies and Arrowhead was the easy choice for several reasons. The salesman, Jim, brought a large idea book and was able to help put my vision into a design. A few days after our meeting he emailed me a custom design based on my inputs. The only company that actually presented a design along with an estimate. Additionally, everything was completed on time. The crew was equally impressive, very skilled and clearly knew what they were doing. I would highly recommend Arrowhead Brick Pavers.

The 7 man crew came out on time and began laying 4 by 8 plywood boards to protect the grass as much as possible.. Hand digging the grass and dirt and cleaning at days end. This was a 3 day process and on day 2 and 3 was a four man crew. The guys worked continuously breaking only for lunch and short rest periods. The days were extremely hot and humid but no one sat around. Each crew member knew exactly what to do and were all extremely professional with excellent craftsmanship. Leo was the foreman and guided the project. He laid most of the pavers with the help of the other crew members. One member worked on the seat wall and had to cut each brick to complete the circular seat wall. All in all, the crew did a fabulous professional job. All the neighbors complimented on the attractiveness of the patio. Even the building inspector wrote beautiful on the final inspection report.

Very good. Workers were great. Really know what they are doing.

Although I decided not to use Arrowhead for the paver project, they were great to work with, very responsive, provided a detailed quote and design. I would call them again for any future landscaping / hardscaping projects.
