ARROWHEAD BRICK PAVERS

The project went perfectly. The crew did an excellent job removing the deck and building the new patio within a week. I was impressed with the executed attention to detail we requested for the patio. Our completed patio turned out more beautiful than imagined! The workspace was cleaned up properly at the end of the project. Jim always communicated to us on a daily basis about the status of our project. I was so impressed with that level of communication. The overall price of the project for the work provided was excellent. We have already been receiving complements on our patio from our neighbors!

For a few years, my wife and I have been planning a major backyard reconstruction. We had a huge, old wooden deck and terraced retaining walls made out of rail ties. We wanted to replace it with a stone patio and terraces made of modern pavers. We received numerous quotes from many contractors over the course of several months. After careful consideration, we selected Arrowhead Brick Pavers, Inc. from Warrenville, IL. Our decision was driven by the combination of Arrowhead’s owner Jaime (Jim) Mayorga's personality and the quote. Jim was fantastic. He showed up to every appointment precisely on time. He was always prepared, a great listener, very receptive to questions and discussing ideas, and always ready to provide valuable advice. The quote covered the removal of old material, preparing the site, doing all excavation, building the new patio, reconstructing the retaining walls, adding stone walks, sealing, grading the new terrain, and installing drainage and sod - it was very competitive and thorough. From day one and throughout duration of the two-week project, we were very pleased with his people, their work ethics and quality of work. Jim visited the site every day. His foreman Chuck was his eyes and ears. Chuck himself put a lot of heart in the project and kept the team on schedule. There were occasional small adjustments to the design which were discussed and implemented immediately. For example, the original design called for five flagstone boulders/blocks to reinforce the slope around our Japanese maple tree. Chuck decided a sixth stone would be both necessary for reinforcement and aesthetic appeal, so it was quickly added in - the right decision! Similarly, they added more sod than originally planned to make the entire backyard look more even, finished, and beautiful. On last day, right after a thorough clean-up, Chuck and his workers took a final walk-thru and took many pictures. It was clear they all felt very proud of their work and how it turned out. We loved it too! Our vision became a reality and we're glad we pulled the trigger on this huge project. When it came to a final settlement, Jim shared with us all extras and overruns he incurred. He clearly stated he was not requesting additional payment, but he wanted to make us aware of the budgeted overruns. We gladly helped Jim with his costs and thanked him for the whole experience and great results. We are happy to share our story and we strongly endorse Jim Mayorga and his Arrowhead Brick Pavers, Inc. company. Our neighbors have seen the great work and have already requested bids, too!

Couldn't have gone better. I have never before worked with a Contractor that was so easy to talk to and did absolutely everything they promised and more! They listened to my ideas, had suggestions of their own, and then completed the project exactly as expected and on time. I have already recommended them to everyone I know that might be interested.

Wonderfully creative ideas came together and the most skilled brick installers available made the entrance to our home the envy of our neighborhood. Arrowhead did a great job from start to finish. I had obtained several proposals for the project and they were competitively priced and definitely prepared the most thorough bid which included detailed drawings and great added accent border. Jim managed the project and was on site initially and at times throughout. The work was completed on time. The team was prompt and courteous. The paver walkway and tiered entrance is such a beautiful upgrade to my home! I would definitely recommend Arrowhead!

Arrowhead did a fantastic job. I spoke to several contractors, and Mark was by far the most knowledgeable. His price was also very reasonable. They removed our old patio and built a new one with brick pavers. They did a great job and we're very happy.

Arrowhead did a fantastic job from start to finish. Mark came over and provided creative, well-thought-out ideas, including suggesting adding a decorative step down from the porch due to the added step which really added a lot to the overall end product. The product itself looks beautiful, and the curb appeal transformation is unbelievable! Arrowhead was nothing but professional from the estimate through the final review of the end product. I highly recommend this company!

The entire job was completed in 5 business days, start to finish, with no problems. The design was mine, but they did make some helpful suggestions for the stairs that lead from the home to the patio, and for the edging stone used to separate the small adjacent garden (the fourth side of the patio) from the patio floor. The 4-man crew worked extremely hard, and they were all very courteous. They left the street, parkway, and my yard in great condition, with no remaining rubble. We are extremely pleased with Arrowhead and will use them again on any paver project.

The entire project went very smoothly. Our sales person, Jim, was there for the estimate and came back at key times during the project to make sure that everything was handled to our satisfaction. We noticed one minor issue after the job was complete. I called Jim and it was resolved immediately. The process took about 3 days and the crew worked very well together. They were very respectful and happy to answer any questions we had during the construction. We have been enjoying our new outdoor living space for about 6 weeks now and love it very much. I would highly recommend Arrowhead to anyone looking to do a similar backyard transformation. I will have them back for some other projects that I am planning in the near future.

Estimate and bid: From day one Arrowhead was prompt, courteous and attentive to all my questions and concerns about installing a new patio. I worked with Jaime (Jim) and he was the complete professional during the estimate walk down. Jaime provided a fair and open quote with no pressure. He answered all my questions and was prompt to provide information upon request. Arrowhead provided a proposed design and upon request made changes as I specified. Understanding that they were part of my bid selection, they provided the information fairly and once again, did not conduct any pressure tactics and only offered evidence of their work. Pre-work: Arrowhead ensured everything was ready per contract. They also ensured that the village permits were obtained, LOCATES completed, and provided an update before the work was to begin. 1st day of work, we performed another walk down to cover the items of the contract and things were set. Actual work: The work started on date specified and the entire process was explained with the foreman. It was a big job and they worked very hard. They were diligent to clean up as it does get dusty and were attentive to any watch areas for safety aspects. As the work continued, Jaime was in contact to see if we had any questions about the work. Even my emails once sent, which I would expect to get answer the following business day, were immediately replied back with a phone call to discuss. Emails to the office were almost immediately returned (no longer than a business day). The promptness made the experience very relaxing. Even some minor install items that did come up that were not how I fully expected, Jaime quickly resolved any my concerns without question. He ensured it was done as I expected and the foreman also solicited my review and approval before proceeding. Pure professionals. Work finish: Final touch-up items were discussed and completed. All work was reviewed with Jaime and foreman prior to contact finish. Overall outstanding experience, great people to work with and excellent work. I would definitely do business with them again.

Went well, thorough planning and execution. Mark gave plenty of suggestions and guidance. The crew that executed did a nice job and accommodated last minute requests to please to our taste.

Mark and the Arrowhead Team did a wonderful job on this driveway, walkway and porch project. Overall about 2.5 days. Very timely and professional! Will use them again!!!! Great Job!

They came out swiftly to get us a quote and beat the other quotes that came in. They did the best job with explaining what needed to be done and what that would look like. The crew got the job done in one day. They were always professional and courteous. The brick looked great! The neighbors all commented how nice they looked. The only snag in the service was responsiveness at times. We were originally told there was a 4-6 week wait to get on the schedule. We agreed to that time frame, but that time came and went. I had to call the office to see what's going on. Apparently, one of their supers had to take personal time off and the summer had been unseasonably rainy, which set back their schedule. Eventually, they did make it out in September. We originally thought it would be done in July. They left a crate of brick out on our lawn and said someone would come by to pick it up the next day, but they forgot, so I had to call for them to pick up the extra brick. All in all though, I thought it was good work for the price.

Excellent company to work with. Work done well with no surprises. Slight issue with miscommunication when our job had to be delayed due to weather backing up their schedule - but they were very apologetic about the communication error and pleasant to work with. The driveway looks beautiful and many neighbors have complimented us.

Over all the project turned out well BUT after sales service is VERY VERY BAD. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND ARROW HEAD BRICK PAVER TO ANY ONE AS THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE OR AFTER SALES SERVICE IS VERY BAD. 1) During the price negotiation, Mike (Owner) agreed to put/apply wet sealer after few months but later declined to do this. I called Arrow-Head office nearly 15 times and Karrie (Mark wife) picked up the phone and gave various reasons to avoid me. She said, I will talk to Mike and revert back / Mike is busy with clients / Mike is out in field etc etc... and they never did 2) This is 14000.00 dollar worth project and they never came to see how the project went over all. They completed and left the 4 th day. 3) Laying plastic pipe under the patio to carry the rain water to county outlet was part of the project. The 3rd party contractors who did the patio kicked the plastic pipe while laying it and it disturbed the basement pump greatly. During the next day rain, that was a water leakage in basement. I have taken the pictures, call Mike and showed him. Mike simply said, NO NO, my contractors have not done this and they don't do. I guarantee that, water leakage in my basement the next day was due to this. Arrow Head contractors did not know, what would be the impact of some of the activities that are doing in a project. they lacked ideas on the whole project and we have to tell them. Mike talks to a lot during sales cycle and tells us that, he has more than 15yrs Exp in doing patio project. But I don?t see any professional or ideas when it comes to doing it. Thanks

Mark was a pleasure to work with and took plenty of time to answer all our questions. He assisted us in designing the patio and had great ideas based on his many years of experience. They completed the job on schedule and the work quality appears to be excellent. They did a good job of cleaning up and didn't damage the grass going from the driveway to the backyard.

Jim was professional and nice above and beyond from the start. We received 5 quotes from Angie's List top rated companies and Jim was very competitive. After his initial visit, Jim emailed a detailed quote with visuals. We gave him a date we wanted it installed by and they met the date, even though weather was really bad this summer. When they showed up to start, they had 5 people that worked nonstop from 8am-5pm each of the 3 days besides a 45 minute lunch break (and it was hot and humid!). Chuck, the foreman on site, was very good and kept us up to date. The slope of our yard was greater then expected, so they had to build a mound and sod on last day to make it look nice. They did that, as well as adding a step into the yard, for no extra charge. The patio is beautiful and all our neighbors, near and some far, stop and ask about it. We couldn't be more happy with the job. If we ever had another project within Arrowhead's realm, we would definitely use them again without question.

Our backyard patio had settled along with our 10-year old house. We decided to have the new pavers and repave to correct the "wave" and also upgrade with a seating wall and space for a grill. Mark at Arrowhead was responsive to all my questions and concerns. He went to bat for us with our local village since the regulations had changed and limited the size of paved patios. The backyard patio included repaving, new pavers and rebuilding the step to the back door. We also ordered the grill through Arrowhead which guaranteed everything would fit properly. We also had the side walk/side door steps repaved as well as our front step. I wish I had gone with new pavers to match the new back ones but they did clean and reuse the old ones which were in good shape. Overall, we are very happy with the results.

The end product was fabulous! We were extremely pleased with the completed work. Initially, Mark came out promptly and gave us an estimate that was slightly lower than one other bid, and more that $2,000.00 less than the third bid.We were sold on using Arrowhead because Mark clearly new his business, explained exactly what he'd do in the process, and emailed a drawing the next day which was Easter Sunday. Once we paid the initial installment,; $250.00, we were placed on their work docket. Mark communicated very promptly via email. The one small glitch was that the office staff failed to return my call regarding commencement of the job and did not notify us that work was commencing on the day that the workers showed up. Mark quickly responded to my email, apologized for the office staff not calling us, the work began, and Mark was at the project site later that afternoon. We were leaving for out of town later that afternoon and we were concerned that we would not see much progress before we left. As it turned out, front walk way pavers were nearly complete, rebarb and footings for concrete were ready for concrete to be poured later that day, back patio pavers were all removed, cleaned and reinstalled by the time we were leaving. When we returned from out of town, the job was completed to perfection, including sod that was laid along the paver walk way, with clean-up complete and well done. I would recommend Arrowhead Pavers to anyone interested in adding hardscape to their yard. We are thrilled by how much the paver walk way and steps have enhanced our curb appeal for what will be a home sale within a year or so.

This is a follow-up to our unfortunate review of 6/13/15. Received a call at 8am Monday morning, 6/15. Very apologetic for the difficulties we've been having. Work crew was here within an hour to make desired repairs. Next will be a re-sanding once the weather dries. Looking forward to modifying my original review to a much more positive one. Looks like front office communication needs improving...would have avoided all this. Were very responsive this time. Thank you!

They did a wonderful job. They were great to work with. Very professional and answered any questions I may have had. Jim came out and gave us a beautiful design. When it was time to take out the old brick paver patio and install our new one Jim was there to introduce me to the foreman for the job, Juan. We went over the design and to see if I had any other questions or concerns which I did not since Jim was very thorough from the beginning of this whole process. They worked like a well oiled machine. You could barely tell that they were there after it was all said and done other than I had a beautiful new patio installed. I will definitely use Arrowhead again for any future brick paver work and refer them to friends and family.
