Bluestone was professional on the phone answering all my questions and Will who did the work was polite, respectful and on time. The job was done in a timely fashion and the cleanup was excellent. The air quality sub-contractor they coordinated with also did a good job. I highly recommend Bluestone and their employee Will.

Could not have asked for a better service experience, from the telephone reps, to the estimator, to the crew. Prompt, efficient, quick to schedule, and thorough. Their estimate was hundreds of dollars less expensive than the other company we considered. I hope we never have the need to use Bluestone again, but will call them in a second if future problems arise.

Great service from the initial estimate to the completion of the job. They were all professional and timely with all of their communications. Whether that was arriving on time or communicating they were on their way. They got the job done as promised and left our crawlspace with a tarp. I would highly recommend these guys if you're in need of their type of services. Thanks guys!

I can't say enough about how professional, diligent an punctual this company was. If you are looking for a company to clean vermicullite insulation in your attic look no further. They were so great to schedule an early appointment and answer all of our questions. I have two little kids so I had many concerns about the process and the safety. Blue stone were great. I only wish that I had seen the 10% off for Angy's list members. In all the craziness I didn't notice it I guess.

First off, they called us back! They were the 3rd provider we called, as they are located on the opposite end of Chicagoland from us. But, the first two providers we called never returned messages (phone or email). They were great. Gave an estimate, also gave an estimate for a testing company to perform an air test upon finishing the tile removal. They scheduled that company as well to come the same afternoon. Scheduled the work. They came on time, finished on time, and did a fine job.

I was surprised the cheapest option was also the best. I got a formal quote within a day that (with the Angies List coupon) was about $400-$500 lower than their nearest competitor. They accept major credit cards and email communication for record keeping. They finished work in one day with minimal intrusion to my neighbors or the condo in general.

I got them from Angie's List. He's very good. He's an engineer and he's from Peru. He's very businesslike. So far so good with them. It was more involved than they thought. They have to pick up a bath flooring in the attic. They have to pull all of that up. I have another one, Lakeshore, coming on Wednesday. It depends between the 2 companies. It's the price now. I was very surprised that the guy said for the asbestos abatement, we don't need to leave the house which is a big plus.

I called on Bluestone to check out an asbestos-like material on an insulation board in our basement and to get a second opinion. The first company that looked at it recommended that we remove the material. Our appointment time was at 7 am and Spencer arrived on the dot. I am impressed by the professionalism at first encounter. Right after I opened the door, Spencer formally introduced himself from Bluestone and handed me his business card. I believe he is also wearing a Bluestone company shirt. The asbestos was confirmed but no work is needed because the material is not damaged/disturbed or likely to be disturb. He thoroughly explained his answers to my questions. I appreciate his honesty and also gave me a peace of mind.

Why can't all contractors be as easy to work with as Bluestone? In the process of remodeling a 100 year old 3-flat in Chicago, I've had to deal with more contractors than I care to remember. Starting with my first call to Bluestone, I knew that this was the company I was going to go with. The ladies in their office, Jenny & Kate, were informative, helpful, and a pleasure to deal with. They were able to schedule an appointment for their estimator Ron to come out within a couple of days. On the day of the estimate Ron was right on time, which was a welcome change to the contractors I've dealt with previously. He was meticulous in looking throughout the basement and the apartments to make sure nothing was overlooked. He walked me through their process, start to finish, making me free comfortable and at ease about the project. Later that evening Ron emailed a written proposal for the project. I really liked the details included in the proposal. All of the safety measures they install before removing the asbestos made me feel that the materials were going to be removed properly and safely. Will was the project supervisor for my project. He was right on time with his crew, and after a quick walk-through of the areas, they got right to work. The project followed the steps that were explained by Ron during the estimate and within the proposal. There were no surprises, which was again a welcome change. The project finished up right on time and they left the areas cleaner then how they had found them. I hope I don't have to deal with asbestos removal ever again, but if I do, I'll definitely be calling Bluestone to remove it.

Can't say enough about the great customer service. Estimator Ron Miller came out and gave us a fair evaluation of the situation. The estimate was understandable and received quickly. We called with some questions and got a quick response. We set up a work schedule and the crew arrived on time and ready to work. Supervisor William Harrison was great, answering even more of our questions and helping us decide what to do after more insulation was found in unexpected places. The price they charged for the extra work necessary was very fair. We were also happy with the air test company they suggested. I would use them again.

I had asked the estimator, Ron Miller, to come the first day to insure the set-up went according to our agreement. it made me feel secure that they had on 'Bluestone' shirts, handed me their personal cards and came in a truck labelled 'Bluestone." They said they would come at 7 am and they came right on the button! Ron came with Project Manager William and his crew. William was professional, courteous, respectful and did a great job keeping everything clean. The crew went to work isolating the area around the attic hatch with strong plastic from rug to ceiling that made a containment area. They also installed plastic drop-cloths on the rug and stairs. They used negative air machines to aid in removing airborne mold. The crew removed baffles and insulation so they could treat the whole attic. Insulation was bagged prior to leaving the work area. It was taken outside and disposed of by the company. Before leaving the first day, the crew vacuumed the carpet and left everything in order. The second day, the crew also arrived right on the button. I could tell they were doing a good job because I could hear them moving around in the attic and I could hear their machines. They disinfected and scrubbed the sheathing and rafters throughout the attic. They then used a white anti-fungal encapsulant treatment to cover the wood to help prevent mold growth in the future. They used the HEPA vacuum and cleaned up the containment area and the stairway leading to the containment area around the hatch. William did not come the third day because he was taking a class to upgrade his skills. So, our Project Manager on Day 3 was Tyler. He was also professionally clothed, courteous, respectful and gave me his personal card. Like William before him, he rang the bell right at 7 am. The attic is much hotter than the rest of the house, so they start early! Tyler came with 2 trucks filled with brand-new pink fiberglass insulation and and baffles. They installed 20 baffles to prevent the insulation from covering the soffit vents. They built up the attic hatch to 18" in order to blow in enough insulation to reach the recommended R-50 value. They also attached an 18" piece of fiberglass insulation to the backside of the attic access panel. Then, they blew in the 18" of fiberglass insulation. This was a long process. When done, I stood on a ladder to observe the work that had been done. Tyler and his crew then took down the plastic that had created a containment area. They did a thorough job cleaning and vacuuming. I must add that I asked Tyler to add a piece of missing wood over sheathing where the 'eye' of a piece of wood was missing. He cut a new pioece of wood and nailed it up. Then, came back and applied the encapsulant to this piece of wood also. All in all, it was a great experience and I would highly recommend the Bluestone Environmental company.

Testing by another provider indicated wrap on some old heating ducts in basement contained asbestos. This was no surprise but some of the wrap was deteriorating and too close to some plumbing we wanted redone and the plumbers wouldn't touch it. So I got three bids from Angie listers and Bluestone was easily the lowest. Ron did the estimate and Tyler and company showed up promptly, set up a plastic contain, and got the job done in about half a day, leaving little or no mess. They were kind enough to reschedule the work so I could get the duct replacers in the next day during our frigid Chicago Spring. Well done.

We were very nervous about the possibility of having asbestos in our attic. Ron tested the vermiculite and it tested negative! He was very professional and helpful and provided us with a lot of information about the insulation and the remediation process. Since there was no remediation work we saved a lot of money. There was no charge for the service call or the test! It would've been easy to mislead us into thousands of dollars of work.

I contacted Bluestone on a Monday evening and they got back to me right away on Tuesday morning. They were able to have someone come out the same day for an estimate. Later that day, Ron stopped by our home to look at our basement. He documented the locations of various bits of asbestos he found. Not only did he give the basement a once over, but he also went around our home to peek in the registers to ensure that none of the tape/insulation was in those area. He explained to us everything that would be involved in the process including that within Cook County, a $200 permit would be required, and that it would me a minimum 10-day wait due to needing a permit. We would also need to have an air-quality test performed before they would tear down their work space, provided by a 3rd party company that would be an additional charge. Ron sent us an estimate later that day. While it was higher than were hoping it would be, we felt it was within reason for what was needed. Plus, you can't put a price on peace of mind removing asbestos from your home. We signed the contract and returned it to Bluestone. Kate called me right away to set up a start date and offered to call and schedule the Air quality team to come out on my behalf. 11 days later (due to the Permit wait) we were ready to begin. William and Kareem showed up exactly when they said they would, we very courteous, and walked through the process with me one more time, including pointing out all of the asbestos they saw needed to be removed. They proceeded to set up their containment area, and remove the asbestos. A few hours later, the air quality team showed up and ran their tests and gave us a clean reading. All of the containment area was torn down and removed from the house. William walked me through the basement showing all of the areas that were cleaned. Start to finish, they were here less than 5 hours, and if you hadn't seen them here, you would have never been able to tell. The place was left exactly how they found it (minus the asbestos of course)

I received quotes from 3 different asbestos abatement companies. Bluestone Environmental gave me the best quote and were very professional. I worked with an appraiser by the name of Ron - he arrived on-time, answered all my questions, and emailed me a quote the next day. Likewise, he promptly answered subsequent email questions. There was a 10 business day waiting period after signing the contract (required time to obtain a Cook County permit.) Bluestone scheduled my service on day 11. Two Bluestone technicians came to my home - Tyler and Conrad. They arrived right on time, and instantly put me at ease. It is not an easy thing for someone to walk into a private home and make the homeowner feel comfortable right away (especially when they are coming to remove asbestos), but they did. Tyler and Conrad were very professional, courteous and skilled. They also explained the process and were very considerate of my home. Likewise, they were very careful about containing the area with plastic and they used used negative air-pressure/ particulate air filtering within the contaminated area. They did a great job of cleaning up afterwards. The air sampling reports came back clean. I was able to have the plumbing work done the next day with no issues. I would highly recommend Bluestone Environmental to other homeowner's in need of asbestos or mold abatement services.

The entire process went smoothly. I called the company, an estimator arrived the next day, we confirmed with the company replacing the boiler that we could keep the old boiler intact without disturbing the asbestos. I received a formal estimate from Bluestone the day after I requested it. I accepted the estimate. Our HVAC team did the boiler replacement the first week of December. They moved the intact old boiler to the side during the replacement to avoid distrubing the asbestos. After the replacement, I arranged with Bluesone for a date to have the asbestos removed . Keep in mind there is a 10 day period needed for a permit to be issued by Cook County before the removal can begin. Bluestone handled all the permit work. Bluestone also put us in touch with the air quality tester so we could have that done the same day as the removal. The technicians arrived at 7 am as promised. They explained what they would do, posted the permit, and then set to work. They finished the job, the air-quality technician tested, and everything was completed by 11:30 am.

We bought a house that was built in 1925 and some of the ductwork in the basement and 4 of the vents on the first floor were covered in asbestos paper and asbestos-covered duct tape. As unpleasant as it is to have this problem, we knew we had to take care of it, and now was better than later. I looked online, discovered Bluestone and called on 11/10 and made an appointment for the following day for an estimate. Spencer arrived exactly on time, was very polite and professional, and I had a quote by 5pm via email that day. We signed the contract and faxed it the next day. We set up an appointment for the work to be done one week later. The crew of two arrived on time and did the work very thoroughly and safely. They put plastic and seals over doorways, air registers and so on, and made containments around the areas where they were working. There was an air-lock at the entrance to the work area. The used negative air-pressure inside the work area and used high efficiency particulate air filters with that machine. They took out about 30 square feet of ductwork and 4 vents that led up to the first floor. The job took ½ of a day. They securely bagged/boxed and took away all the ductwork that they had removed, and left the basement and upstairs spotless. I paid by check. The next day I received three items via email: 1) Letter of Completion for Asbestos Abatement Project 2) Paid Invoice 3) Waste Shipment Record/Asbestos Manifest, which outlined the size and number of items removed, where and when they were shipped, and signed by the supervisor at Bluestone. We are very pleased with everything that Bluestone did for us in this project.

These people are personable and a pleasure to deal with, Spencer Savois (salesperson), William Harrison (project manager), and Jenny Sejda (office). I wish their customer service, punctuality, and responsiveness would be contagious to all other contractors. The crew was punctual and did a quality job removing the material and cleaning the premises prior to leaving. The area was cleaner when the crew departed than it was before they arrived. Pricing was very competitive, substantially less than my next lowest bid. Many of my contracting experiences have been dismal. However, this contract went very well, and I would highly recommend this company.
