Mr. Brosseau was very responsive, setting a time to come out the day after my initial call to address the situation. Due to weather factors, he had to cancel but was out the next day. He immediately identified the problem as loose shingles which required being re-nailed down. Given the amount of work required, I believe the charges incurred were extremely out of line and in hindsight I should have either attempted to negotiate a more reasonable price or should have contacted another roofer for an estimate. Would I use him again? I would certainly call him and request an estimate for any future work.

I called the office and received a phone call back the same day. They took the information and address and asked if it was ok that they drive by to inspect what needed to be done, or if we preferred to be home when they did the inspection. I gave them the authorization to drive by and get up on the roof. Within 3 days we received a written estimate in the mail. We asked friends and family what they thought of the cost based on the work to be done and everyone agreed that we were getting a very good deal. I signed the estimate and returned it within three days. About a week or two later we get the mail and inside is a bill for services rendered. We looked on the roof of the house and sure enough, the work had been done, and appeared to be satisfactory. Since then we have had numerous rain storms with blowing winds and have seen no evidence of water leaks. We were very pleased with the expediency of the response. And, so far, the repair job seems to have been done satisfactorily. Having said that, we know nothing about roofs or replacements of boots on vent pipes, so we are just going by the fact that there have been no further leaks and the appearance that it seems to have been sealed properly. And even though we are pleased with the expediency, I would have liked a phone call ahead of time to let me know when they were going to be doing the work, even though we weren't planning on being there. However, I understand the nature of the business, and that they want to move from one job to the next with efficiency, but a one or two day window of notice would be courteous. Overall satisfaction is very high, and we will call them first for future roofing issues.

First of all I'd like to say that the work was done very quickly and professionally. We are very happy with the roof and skylights. But, leading up to the actual appointment for the work to be done was unprofessional. We got several bids and they were all very close in price. We chose Jim Brosseau Custom Roofs because they had been in business for many years and liked the response to the request for a bid on the roof and then the skylights after we were told the skylights would not survive a new roof. After we signed the bid and returned it, nothing. I had to call 3 times over several weeks in order to get an actual date. I understand this is the busy time of year for them, but I felt we were spending a lot of money with them and deserved to be kept informed. As to the actual work done, the crew was here on time as promised. The work was done in a professional manner and without any mess left. They tore off my old roof, removed my 30 year old skylights, replaced the skylights, replace some bad wood panels and roofed the house in 2 days time. All the vents and vent stack gaskets were replaced with new ones. I was impressed. Clean up was good including a magnet to pick up any stray nails. My only real complaint was that the skylights have available a trim piece for the inside to cover the gap between the new skylights and the existing drywall. This trim piece has to be installed from the outside during installation of the window. We were not informed of this and will now have to do some kind of trim work ourselves.

The estimate I was given said the entire fascia had to be replaced, but only about 1/4 of it was rotten. When I asked him about reducing the price because less labor and materials were needed, he at first refused to discuss it. After I called and asked about a reduction for the second time though , he reduced the cost to more closely adhere tot he actual work done. Everything was cleaned up and my planst under the gutter were barely disturbed. It appear to be quality work, but I am no judge of roofing!

Jim brought back an estimate in a timely manner. There was a delay from the schedule however we were notified before and agreed. Jim was on the site a couple days but the work was completed by his crew which were polite and friendly when approached, otherwise unobtrusive. They found additional water damage above the estimate but nothing outrageous or unexpected. Clean-up was sufficient, though not as complete as I did as the homeowner.We are happy with the results.

When I called Brosseau Roofing in February 2011, Jim Brosseau retruned my call promptly, showed up when promised for an estimate, started and completed the installation of a bonded rubber roof, when promised. I had a minor aesthetic issue with the trim at the peak of the roof, and it was resolved quickly and to my satisfaction. I never had a problem with previous roof installation by Brosseau and it lasted as long as I owned the home, about another 8 years after installation.
