Work went as estimated!

Tom came out and gave the estimate. He seemed very experienced and knew just what to do. The price for the work was reasonable, a bit higher than other quotes, but seemed to know the best about what to do. Due to weather, it took an extra week longer than originally quoted to start the work, but finished within 4 days. The work turned out very well.

Tuck's 2 man crew arrive at nine in the morning as promised. His crew ground down 2 stumps and removed the debris from cutting the birch tree. The crew removed the dead evergreen branches in order to remove a dirt berm and mound deposited by a neighbor. We had to wait 5 weeks until Tuck could schedule our job. Excellent service and friendly attitude.

We were completely satisfied with the work that was done on our yard and the professionalism of their salesman, Tom Sr. They were prompt with the estimate and came to do the job about two weeks later. Their workers knew their job with 20 plus years of experience working for Home Landscape materials. We cannot say enough about the job they did and the price was fair. We got 4 estimates all together 2 twice as much as their price one below. Now - once we decide what we want to plant we will be going back to Home Landscape Materials to see what type of plants they have to offer.

I believe the company is over-subscribed and is having difficulty keeping up with demand.

. I really like the guy who came out. His name is Tim Tuch and he knew what he was talking about. Their quote was fair. I had two other quotes. He was the one who came up with more ideas that I did not think of. He was very honest. He told me that we are behind to put in certain plants.I was fine with that because I know how this works specially with the weather that was bad this year. He ended up coming up earlier than he thought and that does not happen very often either. I would consider this company to provide with a quote in the future.

We had a problem with water collecting in out backyard during heavy rainfalls. Tom Tuch Jr. came out to look at the job and give us an estimate. We agreed on where the trench and drain tile should go and where the water should empty out to. He gave several options for how different parts of the job could be done and we liked his suggestions and plan better than any of the other estimates we got. He gave us an estimated start date and called JULIE out to come and mark any burried lines near the work area. After a few days' delay due to rain the crew arrived on a Tuesday morning and got right to work breaking up the sidewalk. Tom came out too, to go over the plan again and to check out where the underground lines were. The gas line was right where we wanted the trench to be so all of the digging had to be done by hand; it was a lot of digging but it went just fine. I had questions about planting in the area where the sidewalk had been and Tom suggested a few kinds of shrubs we could put in. This had not been part of the original work or estimate but I was able to chose plants and the crew brought them and installed them on the second day. At the end of the first work day the sidewalk was gone, the trench, drain tile and catch basin were in and the backfilling was half done. We had a huge rainstorm for the next day and a half. The drainage worked very well and we had no marshy spots in the yard at all. The crew came back and finished up the backfilling, mulching and planting (all in the rain) and went over the work with me before they left. They were very thorough, very neat and the job looks great.

Overall it was a great experience. I had received three estimates and they were in the middle as price goes. The yard was quite uneven before the patio was put in and they were the only company of the three to come out and put in level lines to determine how the patio would fit in with the house and yard once complete. They discovered that the original design idea would expose 17 inches of the houses foundation and it would look bad. They came up with an idea to raise the entire patio and it worked out great. If we had gone with one of the other companies we would have had a large, unsightly part of our foundation exposed. They came out several times before they even gave me a quote to make sure the design was what I wanted. They also included everything that I wanted in the quote which the two other companies failed to do. This is a family owned company and one of the owners was on site every day during the construction to make sure the work was done properly. They care about their work and it shows. The patio transformed my backyard. I would definitely use them again in the future.

It looks great and made such a difference in our front yard! I needed to ask them to come back because one section of the pavers was installed a little too low, so it flooded. They came back promptly and graded it a little higher, which cared for the problem. I am very pleased and wouldn't hesitate to have them back again. Their minimum charge for a job was $1,000, so keep that in mind if you have a small job.

We have a long strip of land that is in full shade and needs plants to fill it. We took our dimensions to Home Landscape Materials. The man there came up with a plan (how many of each plants we'd need and spacing for each) for our space and walked us around the property pointing out several choices to fit the plan. The process was quick and simple. Within the hour we had all of our plants loaded in the car, and knew how we we were going to plant them. I'd say the guy wasn't super friendly, but that was fine. We weren't looking for a friendly sales guy. Instead he was a landscaper that told us what we needed to know and didn't waste a lot of time. He was super-knowledgeable and talked from experience.

They are approved and on the list of recommended contractors for the City of Naperville, so I felt comfortable getting the permit and gave the the job. Overall so far so good. Friendly easy to work with company.

They were very professional. They were very thorough with helping me to understand the right kind of trees and plants to pick for my area. They completed the work in the time stipulated. The boss was out daily to check on the progress of the job and then when it was all done he checked to see if I was satisfied. They will also be out next spring to see how the plants are. They were also the best price.

We had several contractors give estimates on this job and we are truly glad we chose Home Landscape. We had stopped by their "yard" a few times to browse and each time the employees were very pleasant, down to earth and helpful. I never felt rushed and all questions were answered. Steve Carroll was our salesman/supervisor for the job and everything went well with no problems. He worked with us to create the look we had imagined. Any phones calls were returned. Worked with our schedule.

I THINK THEY DO A GOOD JOB AND THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS GOOD.
