Terrible company. I had a schedule for Thursday mid day. Technician calls me 30 min before our appointment and says he might not be able to reach our vent on the roof. I said he might be able to as our roof has a patio. He says hes on his way. 3 hours go by and he misses our appoint. I call the office angry and they say their manage will call me back. He never did and after several days and several attempts I finally get a hold of him. the manager himself needs to follow back with me and says he'll call me back in 5 min. 2 hours go by and I have to call him back only for him to tell me they cant do it. Dont hire these guys. They wasted days of my time

It went incredibly well. The spots were removed and the entire carpet was clean. I had a grey carpet that hadn't been cleaned in years. It had heavy dirt and glue spots left years ago by mirror installers. I tried Stanley Steemers years ago, but stains were still bad, so I gave up. I decided recently to find someone on Angies list. I found Sears. They had good ratings, so I chose them. I told them about the spots and they let me know about spot removal. It worked and I am very happy. And the whole 20 year old living room carpet looks like new. I highly recommend Sears.

This is my first review, and my experience was so bad I needed to share. I was given a window of 1-5PM to fix dishwasher- door wouldn't close and handle was stuck in locked position. I called to confirm in the morning. At 4:30, tech calls to tell me he will be here at 6, one hour after the window. At 6:45 no one is here, so I call and am told he is on his way. A little after 8, I call to find out what is going on, and I am told he is no longer coming. The woman I spoke to said there was a note from the previous call (when this guy told me the tech was on his way) saying they needed to reschedule my appointment! She said they do not do service appointments after 5 pm, but at 6:45 the guy I talked to told me the tech was on his way. She told me that the next available appointment is next Monday. She transferred me to a woman at Sears home warranty, who tried to help schedule me with another company, and she imformed me that dishwasher handles are not covered by the warranty!!! Why didn't the woman I scheduled with originally tell me that?! I sat around for 7 hours with my one year old, waiting for someone who was never coming and for a service that apparently is not covered under the warranty. This is not a way to run a company. Besides the final woman I talked to late last night, no one else was helpful or properly informed, and there was conflicting information given throughout the process. I called a company on my own this morning, who gave me a 2 hour window, called when he was on his way, and fixed the problem quickly. I am beyond frustrated. This is the second time someone from Sears has not shown up in the FOUR hour time frame given by the home warranty person. The associated plumber they wanted to send out at one point for a toilet issue got a D on Angie's List, although they claim to only use reputable companies. I decided to call my own reputable company instead. Our furnace was broken, and with 40 degree weather, apparently it was not an emergency, so they could only send someone out the following week. Ridiculous. Again, I called a company on my own, who were able to come out immediately.

They up sold me a home purifier.; the second time they came which cost $500.00. they drilled into my air conditioner and ruined my air conditioner, by drilling in the wrong areas. I have drill holes all over! My vents still look like like fur is growing out, and they won't fix it. They came out the third time and took pictures of the fur vents, and said my home is very clean and can't explain why I have so much dust, since they just cleaned it? I thought Sears was quality, but not in this department. Be weary to do business with them. They never corrected my fur/ dust vents. I feel ripped off. And what a bad experience!

Awful experience. Major communication problems. We went to Sears for a minor repair of our Craftsman snow thrower because we could not find a local company willing to repair Craftsman snow throwers. We dropped off the snow thrower at the Vernon Hills, IL store on 4/15/15, and were told that it would be sent to a service center for repairs and take about two weeks . It actually took about 5 weeks. We asked to be called with an estimate for repair. When we did not hear from them after three weeks, we phoned their 800 number and sent an email. We never received a response to the email. Each time we phoned the 800 number, we experienced extremely long wait times and got very little information. We were promised updates by the next day that we didn't get. After about 4 weeks, we got a message with a price of $144.06. When we called the service line back to authorize the repair, we were told that the recoil starter needed to be replaced. About one week later, we received a message that the repair had been completed and the snow thrower was ready for pickup. When we called the customer service line to confirm, we were told that the equipment would not be ready for pickup at Vernon Hills for 4 more days. We phoned the store to find out if the snow thrower was ready, but there was no way to speak to someone who could give us that information. When we went to the Vernon Hills store to pick up the snowthrower, the charge was less ($99 instead of $144.06) and the receipt indicated that the recoil starter had not been replaced. We sure hope the snow thrower works. The previous time we took the snow thrower to Sears for repairs was in middle of the snow season. It took 4 weeks to repair and communication was also poor. We will not buy a Craftsman product in the future so that we don't have to go through this again.

I had previously purchased new tires and a alignment in November and noticed that the alignment was off and the sterling wheel was shaking at 75MPH. I was advised that the work was covered under the warranty for the alignment and the rotating and balancing was covered since I purchased my tires from Sears. I was told that it would take a little over an hour. I walked around the mall for 2 hours and they still had not gotten to my car. It ended up taking 3 hours for them to complete the work that was promised in 1 hour. I got into car and drove home and the alignment was fine. The next day I was driving to work and as soon as I got up to 75 MPH on the highway the sterling wheel began shaking again. I have a Sears by my work in Niles so I stopped there on my way to work. They pulled up the work order and advised that the tires were not balanced. I left the car at that Sears. I received a call from the manager of the Sears in Niles who advised that my tires that I previously purchased from Sears in Chicago Ridge were installed incorrectly. They were not facing the right way as indicated on the tire. He advised that they corrected the problem and the balancing was done. I inquired about any damage to the tires and he advised that there should not be since I only had the tires for a short time. He advised to contact the manager from the Chicago Ridge Sears if it seemed like there was damage. He said if they gave me a hard time that he would correct the problem with Sears because ultimately they were responsible. I was very happy with the Niles Sears. The next morning I called the manager of the Sears in Chicago Ridge. He didn't really listen to what I explained to him and wanted me to look for him next time I was at the Sears. He had the same type of attitude that I have seen with the other Sears Auto employees at Chicago Ridge. The manager said he could give me a discounted oil change next time. If I were to get free oil changes for life from Sears in Chicago Ridge I wouldn't go there again. I will go to my dealership from now on where they know how to treat customers. This is one of the reasons that Sears is in the financial trouble that they are in.

This was the worst experience I have ever had with an appliance repair. The ice dispenser on a 6 year old refrigerator would not dispense cubes. it would dispense water and crushed ice, but no cubes. The refrigerator is in a home in Florida which I have been preparing for rent. I go to the home 1-2 weeks at a time. I made my first appointment in January 2014. The service technician told me that it was the electronic board at the dispenser that needed to be repaired. I was leaving town in 2 days and the part would take longer to come. So, I told him that I would make an appointment the next time I came. I made an appointment for March - the technician did not even bother to show up!! My next trip was in April, so I made an appointment for then. Even though I requested the original technician, I had a new technician. The new technician said that it was not the electronic board, it was the motor in the dispenser that needed to be replaced. So, we ordered the part (motor) to be sent to my home and I would bring with me for the next time. When I returned in June, I had made an appointment and had the part. The part did not fix the problem - this new technician (#3) said that the original technician was right - it was the electronic board. So, feeling compassionate for me, he had the correct part sent overnight and added me to his schedule when I let him know when it arrived. (He told me to try to call the 800 number and ask for an appointment, but we both knew that the 800 number is greatly lacking in customer service - we tried to do it right, but..) When he arrived to put the part in, the part was incomplete - it only had the plastic cover and not the electronic board!!! He then spent time on the phone trying to tell them that he needed the right part number. Whoever was suppose to help him, did not even know that the part number was wrong. Anyway, he finally was able to order the right part. What was suppose to be a 5 minute job turned into 30 minutes of discussion with the 'experts' who did not know what was really going on. So, he ordered it again - fast delivery, but it did not arrive by the time of my plane reservation. So, my neighbors accepted the box and it is sitting in my house. I was going to make an appointment to finally get it in when I return in August. However, someone at Sears charged my credit card for the completed work on July 4!!!! I am now trying to figure out who had the guts to charge my card for this unresolved fiasco. The only sane caring person was the last technician. Sears Home Services is a joke - 800 number must be off shore somewhere - they have no idea of customer service!!!! DO NOT USE SEARS!

They collected money for an assessment knowing that they would not be able to fix my air conditioner without it costing more than replacing it. It's a total scam. Reputable companies have stopped servicing window air conditioning units, but Sears has this scam where they say they'll come and assess it and they'll apply the assessment amt. to the final bill, but the final bill is guaranteed to cost more than a new unit, and may not be a successful repair anyway, and is likely to take a long time. It's bad business.

I buy my tires from Tire Rack. Great prices and next day delivery being in Chicago by regular UPS. My MDX needed two new front tires and I had used Libertyville Toyota and Mundelein NTW before when mounting purchased tires. The Toyota dealer wasn't doing it anymore for non-Toyotas and I've had issues with the NTW (see other review). I looked at the dealers in the Tire Rack network, saw the Sears and called about an appointment the day the tires were ordered. I was told to bring in on the day following the tire delivery in the morning. Arrived without appointment around 11am, walked in and the service rep started the process immediately. We walked out, looked at tires, confirmed location and then back into service desk. He suggested a front alignment, which I agreed to and even bought the extended service price which allows me to take back for re-alignment over an extended period of time for free. Told me it'd be about an hour and I took off thru the store and into the mall. Less than an hour later got the call the service was completed. Went back and quickly paid and was on my way. Already put 5,000 miles on the car and no issues. Alignment was perfect. Prices charges were in-line with negotiated Tire Rack prices. Recommend Highly!

I think Sears Home Service is terrible. My microwave hasn't been working for ten years and they won't replace it. It's been the same problem a lot of times before. They've been out here 20 times and they just won't replace the microwave. They say it's fixed but it breaks again, doing the same thing it's been doing for the last ten years. The service guys who come out are usually pretty nice. It's really not the service guys I don't like, it's really Sears corporate. The service guys have even suggested replacing the product, but corporate says no. Any household product I buy will be from a different company. I won't go back to Sears and buy any product, especially the Kenmore Products.
