Salesman was very knowledgeable. Provided estimates for three different options from low end to high end. Also provided comparitive estimate of energy costs before and after for each of the three options. He also provided a thorough explanation of how a heat pump works and I ended up going with a Trane heat pump system with a gas furnace backup. Installers were very professional and respected our home. They put down carpet runners and wore footies over their shoes to make sure they didn't track in dirt. Installation was completed in two days. System has a variable speed blower which is very quiet. So far it is working great and seems to have helped even the temperature out between the upstairs and downstairs in our home.

About 15 years ago I wanted a new furnace, install central air, and remove an old furnace oil tank from the basement. And I had a suggested place for the AC condenser. I had quotes from several contractors. Masters was the most expensive, and compared to the cheapest, quite a bit more. But their bid was exactly what I was asking for. I went with them, and they did what they promised when they promised. The furnace came with 10 year manufactures P&L warranty. The circuit board for the blower went bad three times, twice under warranty. I don?t consider the circuit board failure their fault. Each time they came when they promised. For the two warranty calls there was no charge, and no hassle. For the third time, we discussed options, and they wired the blower such that I could continue to use the defective circuit board. So the date and amount listed was for their last call. I now live in a different house, and am considering geo-thermal. Last spring I talked to several contractors at a home show. I think Masters had the best understanding of the challenges of my installation, and to what part of the total job the tax rebates would apply. If I go ahead with geo-thermal, I?m sure they will not be the low bid. But I?m also sure they will what I ask, and do it correctly.

Last Saturday our dryer stopped working intermittently, when we could get it to start we heard a snapping sound from our electrical box. We called this company our friends suggested to have them look into the problem. On Saturday evening we called and were connected with a very nice operator. She took our name and asked if we needed an electrician out that evening. We had already finished most of our wash so we opted to wait for normal business hours (non-overtime). She stated we would be called early Monday to schedule an appointment. That call came and we talked to another nice person who was able to schedule that week (within our schedule) for an electrician to come out (between 8 and 8:30 Thursday Morning). The electrician arrived at 8:05. Since it was raining, he put on protective plastic around his boots to protect our carpet. He inspected & measured the voltage at the outlet and breaker. As they seamed OK, he checked to see if there was a loose connection on the connection of the cord to the dryer. He found one and tightened it. After testing the dryer he heard the snapping sound in the breaker box and quickly investigated. He found some corrosion on the breaker and the buss bar. He installed a new breaker and moved it to another location in the box so as not to reuse the corded buss bar from the previous spot. Since our breaker box was 100% filled, he combined two circuits on a new breaker so he could put in the breaker for the dryer. Including the time to go out and get the new breakers, do the inspection and fix our problems he was finished in about an hour and a half. During the work he explained everything he was doing so I could understand what was wrong. He also showed me the corroded breaker and buss bar and the loose connection on the dryer. We were very happy with the work this professional and his company had accomplished and would use them again in the future if we ran into any additional electrical problems. As we were only told their hourly rate ($75 per hour + cost of parts), the cost was less that what we had expected (was expecting > $300).
