D.J.'s Painting and Remodeling just completed finishing our basement. Not only does it look great, they went beyond what was contracted to have our sump pump replaced when it failed at the start of the project. They brought in fans and allowed the basement to dry before starting. We now have a huge bedroom with closet that has both shelves and hanging space, a full bathroom, a great room, and a storage room. Everyone was professional and they all treated our home with care. Dave made sure everything was done properly and to his high standards. While they were not the cheapest contractor, we knew his reputation and we would get excellent service and quality results. We will definitely use them again.

Single most regrettable experience since moving to Illinois. Grossly overpriced for services provided, cumbersome communication, and average quality.

The process was easy from start to finish. Dave himself met with us personally to help us though the color picking process. He made helpful suggestions, that lead us colors that we love today. They do more than just "paint walls", they take the time to walk you through the entire process start to finish...and even to a great job after completion of staying in touch! I would highly recommend them to any one (and already have to my parents!!!)

We were happy with the job D.J.'s did. We have had several people compliment us on how nice the house looks. D.J's was very professional. They always cleaned up at the end of the day, they never left a mess, and they were very courteous about where they put their stuff. They did a really good job with the prep work, and it looks like the job is going to last for a long time. We would use D.J.'s again.

I would highly recommend them. They are very professional. They are careful about the people that they hire. They pick and clean up after themselves, and they are fast in their work. I would use them again in the future if I needed to.

Very professional, described what they were going to do and the way they approach a painting job. We knew we were dealing with professionals who delivered exactly what they said they would deliver--no more, and no less. Definitely more expensive than most, but you get what you pay for. Drainage system was not what we had hoped for. They know painting, not so sure about other types of work.

The drywall people that were sent out were incompetent. The walls have high and low spots and I have five strips on the ceiling where they placed drywall and textured it. After three weeks of them not showing up. All this time the kitchen could not be used do to plastic covering every thing. When they did they just made it worse. I was told they were fired. That did not fix the mess they left. They took almost a month to do a three day job. Do to the bad drywall work the cabinets would not fit flush to the walls like the old ones did. They put the counter top on wrong and were sent out to fix it and just moved it to far the other way. I will fix this because they cant take there time and do any thing right. Some of the cabinets had only one screw in it. I had to put in six screws in after they were done. The head carpenter was in a big rush to go get his kids from school so he was after the other people to rush and just do it was what he told them. He put holes in the cabinets looking for studs in the wall. They do made stud finders which work are use a nail where the cabinet was to go instead of putting hole in the new cabinets. I have one cabinet with sixteen holes in it. The toe board at the base of the cabinets was not cut are nailed in place. Had to be corrected after the owner told me that was the way it was to be. He was wrong. There was plaster left on the window and walls with plaster dust all over the kitchen, dinning and living room. The time they spent on the cabinets comes out to over $100 a hour per person. The company?s rate is $60 a hour. that?s because he was in a big rush to get done and leave a mess. They also scratched the top of the stove which he paid to have a new top put on after I was going to file with the BBB. If you plan on hiring this company look at mine before you make a big mistake. bill
