I was very happy with them because they were so friendly and knowledgeable. He showed me how to take care of different things as well. Overall, I was pleased and I would recommend them to anyone. They provide a great service.
Description of Work: There was a wire that got disconnected, which caused my dishwasher to stop working. He came and put the wire back in and showed me how to do it if it should happen again.

Maytag gave me 3 companies to choose from for this recall repair. After reviewing Angie's list I found that 2 of the 3 companies had poor reviews but Northshore received high marks. I agree. My tech was pleasant and answered any questions I had. We also talked about appliances in general. The best part was that my dishwasher door gasket was starting to deteriorate and I was ready to have it replaced as an extra task that I was willing to pay for, but it wound up being part of the recall parts kit that Maytag sent to me! Maytag said that the repair would be done between 8 and 5. The dispatcher called me about an hour before the tech arrived. The dispatcher said he was a long time member of Angie's List and had just renewed after I told him I was a member. Maybe that's why Northshore tries harder and gets good reviews! Note that Maytag was in charge of handling the appointment and coordination of the work. I did not call Northshore directly.
Description of Work: Performed the Maytag Dishwasher rinse-aid dispenser recall repair. This involved replacing the inside of the dishwasher door, the door gasket and the wiring harness. Upon removal of the wiring, one of the prongs came off of the circuit board. The tech said this was common and not only soldered the broken one, but touched up others that he had had problems with in the past. When he was done, he did a quick test to make sure the dishwasher would start, fill, run and drain.

IF IT DOES NOT RESTART, THEN AMANA WILL HAVE TO BE CONTACTED TO FIND OUT IF YOUR WARRANTY COVERS THE SEALED UNIT AND WE'LL GO FROM THERE." I WAITED AND TURNED THE UNIT BACK ON THE NEXT MORNING SETTING IT AT 4 AS HE TOLD ME, AND WAITING 48 HOURS TO SEE IF TWO ICE TRAYS FILLED WITH WATER WOULD FREEZE. THEY DID NOT FREEZE. I CALLED AND LEFT WORK THAT MR. MANOLI SHOULD CALL ME BACK. HE DID SO AND THEN AND ONLY THEN, TOLD ME THAT I WAS THE ONE WHO HAD TO CONTACT AMANA AND DETERMINE WHAT WAS TO BE DONE ABOUT THE SEALED UNIT. WHEN I CONTACTED AMANA, THEY SAID I WAS COVERED FOR WHAT MR. MANOLI CALLED THE "SEALED UNIT" WHICH WAS IN FACT SIMPLY THE COMPRESSOR AND THE REFRIGERANT. THEY CAME OUT AND FIXED THE UNIT, REMOVING THE "STARTER" WHICH MR. MANOLI HAD INSTALLED. THEIR TECHNICIAN TOLD ME THE STARTER WAS AT BEST A $30 PART AND WHEN MR. MANOLI INSTALLED IT, HE HAD DAMAGED SOME FACTORY WIRING WHICH THE AMANA TECHNICIAN HAD TO REPLACE, INCIDENTALLY AT NO COST TO ME.
Description of Work: Called them to fix my freezer as it was not working. I believe I should only have to pay for a service call instead of the check for $298.45 which I was forced to give Mr. Manoli for installing a "starter" which didn't do anything to remedy my problem because the compressor on the unit was in fact incapable of being restarted. When I first called Mr. Barry Goldstein, manager of the company later the same week, he said he would look into the matter and get back to me. He didn't get back to me until I called again twice, January 9 being the third time I called. Mr. Goldstein's attitude that it's tough luck that I am out money for no results really speaks volumes about this company. Mr. Goldstein said that Mr. Manoli told me I might have to call Amana if the compressor did not restart isn't exactly what Manoli said. He said "I think this will fix your problem if you wait overnight before turning the unit back on. The compressor is 'hot' now and will have to cool before it is restarted.

Customer was fully informed that due to the nature of his problem with the refrigerant, that this repair may not work. If it didn't work, he would need a new refrigerant compressor. Unfortunately, it didn't go his way and now he wants us to be responsible for it. He shouldn't have agreed to that condition prior to service if he wasn't willing to live with the results.
