+ 1 moreHe was really, really nice, both on the phone before coming, and during the work. The only reason I was conflicted about the "Responsiveness" and "Professionalism" ratings is that after the initial service was completed, he wouldn't contact me back about the kitchen estimate, after two tries on my part. After waiting and waiting, I think we're going to just have to go with someone else.
Description of Work: He installed a new window in our upstairs bathroom, said he would install our toilet and sink, and said he was going to provide us an estimate on kitchen remodel.

Description of Work: Mark and Vitas replaced all of our interior doors and two sets of railings. The railing project required securing the newels to the poured concrete beneath the foyer floor. The result was very secure and no longer wobbly. They also installed new interior doors into the existing frames as well as installing the hardware. Other contractors wanted to install prehung doors, which would have required new framing which we wanted to avoid if possible.

+ -1 moreI had an unhappy experience with a previous contractor, who seemed frustrated trying to install limestone. There were considerable color variations in the tile, and because limestone is softer than other tiles, he had a problem with breakage. Home Carpet One on Lincoln Avenue in Chicago recommended that I use Marvis Remodeling instead, a project manager there worked with Marvis frequently and and said it was their best tile installer. Vitas showed up on time for his first appointment and gave me an estimate within a couple of hours. Vitas and his partner Mark finished the work in about three days, and even worked on Saturday in order to meet a deadline. They didn't blink at working with limestone or porcelain and knew what they were doing. They were quite experienced. They repeatedly asked my opinion and worked hard to make sure I was pleased. They cleaned up after themselves & were a pleasure to work with. I couldn't be happier with the result. A big thumbs up for Marvis!
Description of Work: Marvis tiled a small bathroom, both floor and shower walls, using a limestone tile on the floor and porcelain tile on the walls.
