Our kitchen sink faucet began to leak and got worse over a few months. It got bad enough that at around 11 AM on Tuesday I called Hannah's after finding them on Angie's List. They said they could send someone over to look at it around 2:30, which was fine. Greg showed up on time, had the faucet disassembled, and diagnosed the problem in short order. Turns out our contractor found himself a weird one-off Moen whose backflow preventer had deteriorated, causing the leak. He was skeptical that he could find a replacement part, but he tried. When the folks at the plumbing supply company had never seen such a Moen, I went ahead and asked him to pick up a new faucet--a Grohe. He came back and had the new faucet installed and working in short order. He didn't upcharge me for the hardware, and seems not to have charged me for the time spent at and going to and from the supply company. I thought the bill would be a good 50% higher than it was.
Description of Work: Diagnosis of leaky kitchen faucet, acquisition and installation of new kitchen faucet.

The workers attempted to rod out the line from my first and second floor bathrooms that leads to the main but could not get through the tree root infestation in the line under the basement floor that leads out to the main. They also suspected that the old clay pipes under the basement floor were separating at points. The only solution was to dig out the line under the floor and replace it. After giving the go-ahead they proceeded to dig about a 12 foot trench under the basement floor, excavating the old line (which was completely full of tree roots and had separated at several joints). They laid the new cast-iron pipe and reconnected to the existing above ground line. They backfilled the trench following inspection and professionally cemented the area. The main line was then jetted out and confirmed clean from a camera inspection. All in all a great job done by a very courteous, professional crew.
Description of Work: Replaced drain line under basement floor due to tree root infestation/blockage. Jetted out main line from street inward to clear all outbound lines.

We have been very satisfied with all the work done. Greg often comes to inspect the problem the same day that I call and arranges a convenient time to return to perform the job. In the case of the backed up sewer, he was able to provide a temporary fix before returning a couple of days later to properly complete the job. He and his crew are very professional.
Description of Work: Greg has done several jobs for us, most recently, replacing a drain pipe for the bathroom sink that had been clogged. He has also replaced hot water pipes in the basement, installed new outside spigots, and cleaned out our sewer pipe that had backed up.

I recently bought a new dishwasher and paid to have it installed. The installers told me that the shutoff valve was too large and that I needed a smaller one. I called Hannah's for a quote and Mike called me back. He quoted a price of $175 + materials. This is outrageous for such a small job. I could do this myself but I simply don't have the time. Another company installed the entire plumbing connection for my bathroom sink for $200. This is a fitting which is half the effort and half the material. Needless to say, I'm still searching for a plumber.

He came over within a couple of hours with a new sump pump and drained all of the water out of my basement.

Mark from Hannah Plumbing did a great job on diagnosing and fixing our problem. We live on the bottom floor of a three unit condo building. Late on Saturday night, we became aware that our kitchen sink was clogged and debris and water were backing up into it from upstairs. When our DIY attempts to clear it ourselves didn't work (using a plunger and also cleaning the sink trap), we called and left a message at Hannah Plumbing. Mark called back promptly and we scheduled him to come by the next morning. He arrived right on schedule, diagnosed the problem, and began rodding out the pipe. It took two tries, but on the second pass he unclogged the pipe. He managed to extract a piece of a plastic bag from the pipe, which had probably been blocking the line. Throughout his visit, Mark was professional, courteous and easy to talk with, and he did a nice job cleaning up after himself. He also noticed a slow leak in our garbage disposal that had the potential of doing serious damage if not caught early. The price was on the high side because it was on a Sunday, but Mark was upfront about the price so we have no complaints. It was Labor Day weekend and we really couldn't wait until Tuesday to resolve such a serious problem. We would happily hire Hannah Plumbing again to fix our garbage disposal or any other plumbing needs.

Greg came out to investigate both areas of concern and gave me thorough information about each one. Although we do not need his services at this time, we will definitely call him when we need a plumber. He was at our house for 20-25 minutes and did not charge us anything because he said that he didn't do any work!
Description of Work: We were having problems with a sewer odor in our bathroom that would come and go. We also wanted to seal off our outdoor catch basin and hook our kitchen sink drain into the main drain pipe for the house.

Description of Work: Our sump pump was replaced efficiently. I did not have to wait for a phone call back to schedule an appointment (Greg answered the phone personally), and they said they would be here in 30 minutes. When I first called and described the job, I was told by Greg that one of his people would contact me to estimate the job. I figured it would be in a few days. In less than an hour Mike was at our house doing the estimate. I was really pleased with their response. Greg did an excellent job of communicating with us. There was some trouble getting the village to issue a permit, due to a problem on their end. Greg kept us informed and came to our house to let us know the permit was finally issued. The next morning, Mike and his crew came out and began work. They did a great job. They were punctual and neat. They cleaned up each day and kept the disruption to a minimum. They had to dig two holes outside and one in the basement. They were courteous and polite. They cleaned up every bit of dirt inside the house after they were done. We couldn't ask for a better, more professional job. We will use them again. Also, Greg offered an Angie's list coupon for labor off and that was an extra bonus, considering his estimated price was much better than another estimate I had gotten from another "A" rated plumber on the list. His final price was the quote, minus the discount.

Was able to diagnose and fix the problem quickly. Nothing was replaced or fixed, just adjusted.
Description of Work: Called the company one evening at 8pm when we realized our sump pump wouldn't shut off. Responded promptly. Was able to diagnose and explain the problem. Problem was caused by sump pump vibrating and rotating itself against the pit wall. We will definitely be calling this company back again for any future work.

Greg scheduled promptly with us and was extremely punctual for our appointment. He was very careful and thorough with the valve replacement, and meticulous in checking for leaks. He walked me through the steps required to properly shut off and turn on the valve when the seasons change. I asked him for a quick inspection of our pipes in the basement (our house is 80+ years old), and he suggested that we not touch the pipes unless we have a problem or ever want to finish the ceiling in our basement. I genuinely appreciated his honesty, as several previous plumbers have given me bids to tear everything out and replace it. I will call Hannah Plumbing first for all future work.

After a rain and a thaw, our basement drain started backing up - on a Sunday morning, no less, the day before we were to start work on a major basement project. The drain back up has happened to us before, so we called to have the line routed. Hannah's, unlike any of the other companies we have used in the past, made a point of running a camera down the sewer line to show us the root accumulation. Shockingly, they also made a point of telling us there was something else we could do, too, beyond the basic routing, basically blasting out the sewer line with high pressure water. So not only did they arrive within an hour after we first called (again, on a Sunday), they were back again within a couple of days to power clean the line, once again showing us video footage of the now root-free line. Between the first and the second visit, they kept us informed as to their schedule and how soon they'd be able to make it for the second cleaning. Each time, they were very polite and professional.

We got referred to this company by someone on Angie s List. They are excellent and we finally found someone to work on our old building instead of the other companies that we had before. We compared their prices to others. We rate their prices an A plus.
Description of Work: He installed a second sump pump and battery back-up and re-connected the pipes to an ejector basin instead of the sewer. Our home is an old place so it is not always easy to find someone that can do the work.

I am very impressed with this company, the job they do, their honesty in pricing, and the courteousness of the employees. With all the horror stories about being overcharged, or work not being completed/done right, etc., it's nice to know that there are still decent companies out there, and I count myself very lucky to have blindly chosen one.
Description of Work: On Labor Day, we got some water in our basement. Because it hadn't rained, my husband and I determined the problem must be plumbing-related. I did a little research the following day and decided to call Hannah's Plumbing to come out and try to determine the source of the problem. Greg came out that night with one of his employees and they actually found 2 problems - the largest issue being a blockage in the sewer line (they couldn't get past a certain point when they tried to rod out the line). One of his workers dug up our front yard to get to the pipe, found a large tree root that was almost totally blocking the line, removed it, rodded the rest of the way to the street, and then repaired the pipe (adding an access valve in case this ever happens again). We have yet to fix the second issue (a plumbing problem in the basement bathroom), but will most certainly be calling them to come back and do the work when we do.

Upon setting the initial meeting Greg was very prompt. He pointed out what had been done incorrectly (by a previous plumber I was dissatisfied with) as well as pointed out how the job should be done versus the contractor layout. Greg was very professional, prompt and knowledgeable. He gave me the comfort that he would do the job right and bring all the old work up to new standards. Once he started he got a permit from the Village within 48 hours and started within a few days. Everyday they were very prompt and professional. His workers are employees and they worked hard all day to progress the job. The project took approximately two-weeks upon which the Village issued an approval on inspection. He took the time to explain everything to me along the way. He does everything correctly and does not try to cut corners or avoid inspectors. He is competitive price wise and well worth the piece of mind that you have a professional on the job. I would highly recommend him.
Description of Work: Work involved installing new sewer lines, injector pump, drain and water plumbing for a new full bath in basement as well as new laundry connections, sink and mini bar sink in basement. Also performed updating and re-routing/fixing all older lines and installing a larger water heater as I am finishing my basement. The house is over 100-years old so water lines were everywhere in every shape and direction.

They came out the same day in the late afternoon to accommodate our schedule and identified the leak as an O ring on the faucet. The O ring was an unusual size and not something they stocked on the truck. We decided to replace the faucet and they came out the following Monday and did the installation.
Description of Work: We had a leak in the faucet that was dripping into the cabinet underneath. We were not sure where the leak was from (the faucet, connections, drain, etc.).
