It's fixed, and works fine. The price was reasonable. This was my second time using Hannah's since buying my home a few months ago. I have been very happy with their service.

The work overall was professional, and clean. Extra features were suggested and approved to bring my plumbing up to standard included a cutoff before and after a water meter to allow easy replacement, and unions installed on the hot water heater, once again, to allow easy replacement. The final price was actually lower than the original estimate (after the Angie's List discount was applied).
Description of Work: Greg and an asstant came to repair pipes burst in my attic due to a cold snap. They were prompt and professional. I requested a quote to move the piping from the main to the washer in the den from the attic to the space between the ceiling and the drop-ceiling. The quote was reasonable, and I requested them to return. Mark came by the following Monday, and moved the pipe run in around 7 hours. He also installed some new cutoff valves and an additional main shutoff valve to bring things up to standard. Once again, he was prompt and professional. I would gladly recommend this company to my friends and would definately consider hiring them again for repair or remodelling.

I found them on Angie's List. They did a very nice job. They were very good to work with. Basically, I decided to go with them because of the comments and reviews on Angie's List. The man who came out was a good listener. I thought they had a fair quote. It was an expensive price because it was a good quality sump box, so I don't know that anybody else would have given a better price, it was just the job was expensive. I don't think that is a fair evaluation of the price because if I had several people quote, they might have quoted it all the same, and I still would have felt it was expensive because that was what it cost. I think they were probably competitive and should get an A, but the job to me was expensive to do. I give them an A for money's-worth.
Description of Work: Hannah's Plumbing and Maintenance put in a battery back-up for the sump-pump for me last summer. I do not remember how much ended up costing. A lot of the cost had to do with the actual item itself, the sump-pump, so part of it was them and part of it was the sump.

Job went fine. It was a challenge because the pipe was inset in cinder block, a unique construction attribute of this house and others in the western Chicago burbs. They got the job done after a fair amount of strategizing and grunts and groans, for the estimate. My only quibble is that their Angie's list site has a 10% off coupon for labor, but when I brought this up, Mike said all estimates include all discounts. I hadn't mentioned anything about Angie's List when I called, but I guess they get alot of calls from it and automatically discount the estimates? If so, seems like they should drop the coupons on the site. It just makes you feel like something is a little off. What's the point of having the coupons? Anyway, they did a very good job for the estimated price.
Description of Work: Discovered my disposal was backed up and I had a leak from the wall down through the basement ceiling. Waited until the Monday after Christmas so it wouldn't be as expensive. Called Hannah's and told my problem, and was told Mike would be calling me soon from the field to schedule an appt. Got a call from Mike about 20 min later, and he arrived about an hour and a half later, as he promised. I had a rusted out pipe behind the wall of my disposal pipes. I chipped out the plaster ahead of time so as to save money not having the plumber do it. Had two options: tear out my kitchen counter in order to replace the whole section of possibly bad pipe, or take my chances and just repair the rusted section. Went with the cheaper option. First quoted $375, but when I told him I had a clog as well he added $200 to route the pipe. I guess that's a normal price for that service? They did the job in a few hours and all is well.

I originally called in Greg Hannah to fix a leak coming from somewhere in my bathtub's drain pipes. He found the leak and showed me how to fix it myself with some basic supplies I could pick up from the hardware store in the morning. I asked about the rest of my plumbing and he mentioned the iron-to-copper pipe problem. Because it's shortly after Christmas he said I could hold off for a bit before it became a crisis. I have the cash right now so I asked him to go ahead. His crew came two days later and fixed everything in less than 4 hours. They were professional, polite, efficient, and cleaned up after themselves. I'm very pleased, obviously. March 31, 2015: Hannah's Plumbing remains my go-to guys for plumbing work. They sent a guy in today to clear my basement bathroom drains. He started by cleaning the U-bends, and ended up having to use the power snake for over an hour to clear out some tree roots. Everything drains beautifully now, he cleaned and disinfected every surface nearby (including mopping the floors) and charged me less than $200 for the whole job.
Description of Work: Previous owner had directly connected iron and copper water pipes, a corrosion hazard. Also, many of the pipes were too small (big pipe connected to a smaller pipe, connected again to a big pipe). Also fixed some leaks in bathtub drain pipes.

We called on a Thursday and the plumber was at our house on Friday. He reviewed the problem and suggested that we replace the entire faucet fixture, but in order to do that, he'd need to cut an access hole behind the shower. We asked for alternatives and he agreed to simply replace the mixture cartridge which worked fine and saved time/money. He traveled to a faucet store, picked up the parts and the work was complete in short order. Very professional and very quick. Thanks!

At the time of the video, the inspector claimed that he did not see anything other than some tree roots in the sewer line. He recommended that the line be rodded annually. The plumber initially said that he saw a broken tile in the sewer line at the end where it connects to the city's main. The city inspector was not convinced. After the inspector left, Greg Hannah said that there IS a broken tile and that it will eventually collapse. If the inspector had been convinced, the city would then pay Hannah's to repair the line since the area of the break is on city property. However, Hannah was not able to convince the inspector. I could not see a break in the line when I withnessed the video either. The CD that I was given from the plumber was not able to be viewed. We suspect that the disk was not formatted properly prior to being recorded so we do not have video evidence of the work. Is there a broken tile or isn't there? I don't really know. I do know that the sewer line will now have to be regularly rodded to keep it free of tree roots. The City of Chicago will not remove a living tree, even if it continually presents plumbing problems to the homeowner. The tree is city property so we can't have it cut down by a private arborist either. Greg did give us a voucher for one sewer rodding next year. This was a very expensive procedure with no proof of a broken tile. We always knew that the roots were infiltrating the sewer line but Greg said that it was a break and that we should have the inspector come out to confirm it so that the city would do the right thing and repair it. Oh well...only time will tell.
Description of Work: Performed a full service PDP for the City of Chicago inspector. This entailed sending a camera through the sewer line from the catch basin in the yard under the home and all the way out to the city sewer line in the street. A City of Chicago inspector was present during the procedure. I (the homeowner) witnessed the video.

After scheduling by phone directly with Greg to have him stop at my mom's home on a Friday afternoon to provide a professional review and cost estimate for sump pump, discharge piping and miscellaneous plumbing needs, when the day came he phoned my mom to ask to reschedule for Monday. A current job, she was told, had him running late. Things happen -- I understand that -- and I respected his phone call to let her know. The new tiemframe for Monday was between 1 and 3 p.m., and when 3:45 hit and no one showed, I was informed of such and called Greg. His reaction on the phone was like that of a deer in headlights -- completely oblivious to the appointment, then confusing me withsomeone else by telling me that we had called on a Saturday to cancel. Once I told him he was thinking of someone else, he spoke with his office assistant who in fact relayed the original appointment date as well as Monday's rescheduled appointment. He asked "Are you there now?" as if he could just come over two hours after the fact. Sorry, but when you conduct business this way up front, you've lost my business. To me, professionalism means a great deal; if you can't manage the easy part I question what kind of work you do.

Greg Hannah the owner of Hannah Plumbing is very courteous and professional in his approach to providing service. He arrived on time, fixed my plumbing issue, and left my home clean after himself. He is a reliable, and honest man. I would call him back anytime to do any plumbing or any remodeling work to do with plumbing as he is very conversant with the City of Chicago building code law.

I had a small leak in an upstairs bath that caused a part of the drywall in my kitchen ceiling to fall. I called at 6 a.m. & Hannah had a subcontractor here before 9 a.m. They located & fixed my minimal problems with small leaks, & some new bits needed on my toilet, (around $20). I chose to have a new water saving toilet put in while they were here, but they didn't try to talk me into more than was needed. They also referred me to people they use for my drywall repairs & it was all done in a day, except for the painting.
Description of Work: Problems were located, leaks under my sink & from the toilet. Things were tightened to stop leaks, and parts identified to be replaced on the toliet (around $20), but I chose to replace the toilet with a water saving model.

Greg Hannah is the owner of the company. My husband checked a couple of places from where he got estimates. He thought that the reviews he read online really favored Hannah?s Plumbing. We were extremely impressed with them. Greg Hannah himself came out. We talked about everything. He didn?t sugarcoat anything. He pointed out different things. He was not trying to scare us, but there were no hidden surprises. He was very good about saying what needed to be done. He came out with a very good crew. They were here for 3 days. They had to make holes in the wall while re-piping. They had a guy who did the drywall work after they were done with the re-piping work. They don?t re-paint and we had to do that. However, they will put the wall back in a good condition. They were really good about cleaning the mess. They were everywhere in the house while doing the house. Another interesting thing was that we have a house that was built in the 50?s. So consequently when the phones were installed long ago, they had used some wiring for a phone somewhere upstairs which was grounded to a pipe. So we lost phone service while they were re-piping, but they were very good and spent an hour trying to figure out to get the phone service back which they couldn?t do. We then had to call our phone company, but they were very good about it. We didn?t have phone service for a day and that was an unavoidable thing. They even did some work in my mother?s house in February of this year. She had a nasty issue where a pipe had broken and they had to tear up her basement floor. It happened immediately, but the pipe that was broken was a toilet pipe and so it was really stinking. She has an older home as well. I thought of using Greg Hannah for my mother?s house since he had done a great job here. It was an expensive job, but I didn?t have time to get estimates. I felt very comfortable with what he was doing. At the end, he took some money off the job too for my mother, which was very nice. I would definitely use their services in the future too. In fact, I have used them again.

Gary came out reviewed the area that required cleaning and/or repair gave me brief description of what he recommended and what was required. Gary promised an estimate within 24 to 48 hours. I called and text Gary requesting the status of estimate when I did not receive the estimate in the time frame he indicated, according to Gary the estimate was sent he did not recall receiving a notice in his e-mail it was undeliverable. Giving him more time I requested his-mail address and I opted to send him an e-mail allensewer@yahoo.com twice on 09/21 & 09/27 . As of today 09/29 still nothing except promises from each call I made. The last call I made to him was on Monday morning 09/27 before I sent him the second e-mail. I spoke to Gary he indicated he is in his office I can hear him ticking away at his key board. Gary assured me he would take care of today as he was in his office today to take care of the estimate and other paper work. He apologized for the delay as he was and is very busy. I am a new member to your website, hearing good reviews about your website and with the work I need professional done in my home I thought this would be perfect source for what I need done and away to elimate all the local yo-yo's. well as you all know we had some pretty bad torrential rains at the end july, had three feet of water in our basement wiping out our flood control system. well needless to say we needed to do something called two other plumbers to take a look at what they would have to do to get it going again well I wasnt happy with the guys that were coming I had been a member of angies list but decided not to renew boy that was a mistake, well I renewed called hannah's, and i was so glad I did. Gary and Shawn came over to look at our broken flood control system from the moment they arrived I knew these guys were true professionals.Gary recommended a double value flood control system taking the old one out and digging a pit in our basement which they did well well upon using a video camera they discovered our sewer pipe was broken in two places so that had to be fixed as well, decided to put the pit on the outside of the house instead,so all the crap they had dug inside the basement they filled the hole back up and cemented, So they ordered a dumpster, and gary got the back hole it was huge job but it was done with great care and safety in mind, bottom line they did a wonderfull job and cleaned eveything up. Me, and my wife were so happy really restored my faith in plumbers thank you thank you thank you ! though it wasnt cheap it was consitent with what other people had paid for similar jobs believe me I was asking around. I was throughly satisfied and have nothing but praise for Hannahs, thank you : )

Greg Hannah and his employees Gary and Sean were outstanding. I had the best possible service under the most dire of circumstances. These men were professional beyond belief. They thoroughly inspected the job site using high tech equipment and did a phenomenal job getting to the root of the problem. They had to excavate my front yard to access the broken sewer line and took great care to try and save as much of my landscaping as they could. I feel they did everything they needed to do to get the job done without doing more than they had to. In other words I didn't feel "juiced". They installed a flood control system, pumps, arranged the electrical line to be installed and cleaned up the job very competently. I would not hesitate to use this service again. Ask for Gary and Sean : Plumbers with a soul and a conscience. Yes... I am serious.

Due to low house water pressure (old galvanized pipes) we wanted to replumb our entire house with copper. Greg promptly came out to look at the house, informed us that it was a one day job for his crew, and provided a great quote. He also scheduled a flow test for the next day to ensure that our incoming water supply was sufficient to give us the desired result. Mark performed the test as planned and determined our flow was fine. We purchased a toilet, shower valve, shower trim kit, and water heater (placed at will call) from a local big box store and then called to schedule a day for the repiping. On the day of the job, the crew arrived on time and got to work. Mark, Matt, and the others did a fantastic job running the new pipes with minimal access holes and did a better job recessing pipe into the basement ceiling than the original. The materials and valves used for the entire job were top of the line. As with all projects, there were certain difficulties to overcome, such as installing the new pressure balanced valve in a thin wall, replacing tiles from the old two-handle valve, and exchanging a dented water heater. Mark and Matt offered ideas on how to resolve these issues and then completed each task efficiently with great results. The crew finished in one day as planned, cleaned up well, and the inspector had no complaints. Because of the limited size of our bathroom, the toilet we purchased for them to install did not fit correctly. Mark recommended a plumbing supply store that not only had the right toilet to fit our space, they also gave us a discount for being Greg's customer. Mark came out the same day we purchased the toilet and installed it. As a result of somebody decades ago installing galvanized pipe in the ground, we noticed a problem with the incoming pipe/gate-valve. I called Greg at 10 PM and Mark was out within ten minutes to investigate the problem. He contacted the city first thing the next morning, and once the water shut-off in front of our house was located he immediately began work inside. The result was fixing a "ticking time bomb," and once Mark replaced the pipe, patched the concrete floor, and cleaned up thoroughly, he showed me the root cause of the problem. The old pipe looked almost entirely blocked with sediment and there was a large hole in a different segment. I can't image anybody resolving the issue as promptly and expertly as Mark. We have found our plumbers for as long as we live in their service area. Fantastic, professional work. Very responsive and very reasonable prices. A+++

Fine.Came within 2 hours of calling.Another company we got an estimate from charged by the hour and wanted to cut pipes and replace them..by the hour and estimated it would be 4 hours.. at $200.00 an hour plus materials!! Also got a price for leaky sink and laundry tub replacement which has to wait due to $$. They gave Angie's List discount without reminding them..I have found others let it "slip their mind" and so this is a plus.Get a set price for rodding...if they take longer you are not sweating it!This took about 30-40 minutes. Not all jobs can be a set price, but some are a set price, so be sure to ask whoever you have do an estimate.I learned a good lesson on that one. This would have been almost 1,000.00 with the other company and unnecessary cutting!!

Everything went better than we had hoped for. We are very pleased with Greg and wouldn't hesitate on calling him again if we have plumbing problems. We also would recommend Hannah Plumbing and Greg to anyone having plumbing problems.
Description of Work: Greg and another helper came out promptly after a call was made to them. They immediately went to rodding out our sink and tub drains in our up stairs bathroom, which were completely plugged. And were successfully able to unplug both the sink and tub. we expected the problem would be worse. I can take a shower tonight! My husband then told them about a leak that might be from the toilet, causing cracking in the kitchen ceiling downstairs. They checked it out and discovered that a Wax Ring had to be replaced. They cleaned up the area completely before they left. They were very polite. We are very gratful to them and the work they did. Ann and Jack Krisher
