Mike was a courteous knowledgable pro. Even referred me to a contractor to close the hole in the wall. Top notch customer service. This is my go to Plumber from now on.
Description of Work: Repaired a busted sink drain that required cutting through the wall to repair a previous owner's half-assed installation. Then needed to close the hole in the wall. Cleaned up great.

After getting the thousand dollar water bill from the city and learning there was running water somewhere in our building, I called Hannah's Plumbing based on their good reviews to help us find the leak. They were great- they came promptly and searched all the units in our 3 flat building and low and behold, it was a toilet in the unit upstairs. They fixed it fast and gave us Angie's List discount. The fella that came was super nice and we would definitely call them again in the future.

Very well. I have a small child and he made sure that whenever he had to go out to his truck or anything, he picked up his stuff off the floor and locked the cabinets. I REALLY appreciated that.

I called Hannah's Plumbing to assess and resolve issues related to water coming up through the floor drain in the basement when using the washing machine, dishwasher, etc. At the time of the call I was routed to Mike who offered his initial assessment of the problem and set up an appointment for early the next morning (8 - 10 AM window). Around 8:45 AM the next day I received a call from Mike indicating that he was on his way and would be there in about 20 minutes. Mike and Mike arrived shortly after 9 in the morning. They confirmed the initial assessment of the issue, but indicated that it might be difficult to resolve as the house is set in the back of the lot, which is more than the 100 feet of rodder that they have. Mike explained how the blockage in the pipe could be at the front of the yard (where a big tree exists), or it could be in the middle of the yard (where another big tree exists). After it was confirmed that there was not a lead in pipe in the yard to utilize, Mike talked through the multiple options available to me, including usual of the 100 foot rod plus a 25 foot extension, or possibly a longer extension. He explained how the torque would decrease with any extensions and therefore efficacy would decrease. The only way to solve the problem would be to create a lead in to the pipe somewhere in the yard and to rod in each direction (to the house and to the street) from this location. This last option would naturally be the most expensive, but would definitely resolve the issue. The use of a 100 foot rod, with or without extensions was easier and less expensive, but not a guarantee of success as only 1/2 of the pipe would be cleared out. Mike was extremely clear on the pros and cons of each option, and made no efforts to try and persuade me to complete the bigger job. He also made it clear that I would be charged for the process of rodding from the house, even if that was unsuccessful, should I choose that option. One option was a sure-fire solution, while the other was a bit of a gamble. I opted to roll the dice and hope that the blockage was closer to the house rather than near the street. Mike and Mike proceeded to grab their equipment from the van and commence with rodding out the pipe with a 4 inch blade (the largest they could use due to the small opening in the pipe). Approximately 10 minutes later the water gurgled and went down. Mike and Mike continued to rod the full 100 feet, twice, as is their norm. Both of these gentlemen were polite, friendly, and conscientious of my house and my belongings. Throughout the entire process I felt comfortable about both their knowledge of the problem and their ability to make every effort to resolve it. While I recognize that I opted for what could be only a partial or temporary solution, I appreciated that there was no pressure whatsoever to make this into a bigger job. I very much appreciated how well the entire situation was discussed with me and how it was done in a conversational manner. I would not hesitate to contact Hannah's Plumbing in the future should I need additional services. Thanks Mike & Mike!!

The workers were on time and nice enough. However, they had to leave on at least five different occasions to get equipment.
Description of Work: Called because basement was flooded. The worker rodded three different lines and charged each line that was rodded. The cost was over $500 without the problem even being fixed. Eventually got the problem fixed at a price much more than expected.

They were recommended on Angie's List. They were on time. There was some confusion initially but later it was clarified that they were on time. I was a little unhappy that they wanted to charge extra for a weekend visit even though there was confusion. I think that they did a good job and hopefully the job is good. I will see how it works out but he did a good job. He cleaned up well after he finished the job. They were a little bit pricey.

I believe it was a gentleman named Michael who assisted us. Came in gave an estimate, started the work. No problems. The day after the work was completed there was a minor issue (a drip). An associate came out and fixed that. When paying the bill the service representative is the one who reminded me about the Angie's list discount. The only reason I gave a "B" for price is that I am cheap and probably always feel it costs to much, even a .99 drink. The service was well worth the cost as well as the results. Hannah plumbing is my go to for plumbing problems. I will use again.
Description of Work: Re-route existing overhead plumbing from one end of basement to the other (previous contractor had 4 inch pipe in front of window), upgrade sump pump piping and valves, adjust a scald protector in a bathroom, upgrade piping underneath kitchen sink (slow drip) and install a hot water recirculting system in 3 places throughout the house with the main timing unit attached to hot water heater.

The gentlemen that came were friendly, engaging, and wholly professional. The assessed the differences between the new and old heaters to see if they could fit with minimal extra plumbing (galvanized pipe--a bit more troublesome than copper). They tried, but ultimately needed to replace some of the pipes. The new heater was just enough different that it wouldn't fit the existing plumbing. The obtained the pipe and fittings they needed, and had the job done in a couple of hours, cleaning up after themselves. They even carried the old heater to the street for me at my request.
Description of Work: I woke this morning to find my water heater leaking. Clearly time for a replacement. I called Greg immediately (very early morning) and he had a crew ready as soon as he got to the office (I made a point in telling him it wasn't critical, just that I needed it done today). He advised how to shut off the water and called back as soon as he had a crew ready (by 7:30AM). The crew was here an hour and a half later with a replacement heater in hand.

Bathroom sink was stopped up hard. I had been trying to clear it for a couple of days. I disassembled the drain to the wall and used an hand auger and canned air and enzymes to no avail. I had visions of pulling out the wall in the closet behind the bathroom. My wife stayed home and called Hannah's Plumbing. They sent someone in the afternoon. Forgive me if I have the name wrong, but I believe my wife said the plumber's name was Curt. He came in and pulled out some kind of an air device, much larger than the can of air that I bought at Ace and had the drain clear in a few minutes. Since the clog was back in the wall, I am sure the can that I had did not have enough volume. I thought $140 was a bit high but having someone come the same day that we called was great and we had the $10% Angies List coupon so it was really $126.

Curt arrived on time and we talked about what I wanted to have completed. He looked over the project, found where I had placed the items I wanted installed and got to work. He put in new valves in the basement and came to talk to me before he did the work. He put the old wash tub in the alley for me and put the old but useable toilet in the basement for me to recycle. All the areas that he worked in were neat and clean when he left. I also talked to him about some additional work I wanted done and he gave me a quote for the work which we will do after the beginning of the new year. I was very pleased with the work, communication and price of the work.

I needed to shut off the gas by my clothes dryer in the basement, but the valve was like 30 years old and petrified. Rather than tinker with this, I called Hannah plumbing. They were able to come out the same day, and in short order Curt Zeiger was at the door. He was friendly and professional, got in there and got the job done quickly. While re-lighting the water heater pilot, he noticed a gas leak at a pipe joint that hadn't been properly tightened by a previous workman. He fixed it for free and checked to ensure the other pipes were sound. Nice guy!

The job was done quickly and efficiently. They showed me the roots that were causing the sewer backup and explained approximately how from from the inside access point the roots were blocking the sewer. They recommended performing regular maintenance (yearly or so) to keep the sewer cleared...not wait for the next backup to occur). They also had the technology to do a camera inspection of the sewer, but I didn't choose that option on this service call. They estimated that just a camera inspection would be $300 but did offer a 50% discount since they were already on-site performing this service. They also gave me options to consider going forward (such as installing a outside access point) which would reduce the cost of the next visit and make future calls slightly easier.
Description of Work: Called for service and Mike (and Mike) were at my house in 3 hours time same day. The problem I had was that the basement drain had water coming up out of it when I ran the washing machine. They did a couple tests by running water elsewhere in the house to detemine if the floor drain was the problem (meaning a branch off from the main sewer) or if my main sewer was the problem. It turned out that the main sewer was indeed backing up. Since I didn't have a outside access point to the sewer, then they needed to rod the sewer from inside the house.

The only hiccup was showing up later than expected the next day to complete the work. But on the plus side a worst-case scenario and possible cost was minimized when the potential for this extra work proved unnecessary.
Description of Work: I gave these guys another shot after a first experience didn't go very well due to scheduling/communication issues. They did not get a good grade as a result; however, they're getting one this time because they were professional in terms of answering the call, taking the information, scheduling the appointment and performing the work. These are of particular importance when the customer is a senior. Kurt managed the majority of this job and proved to be pleasant and efficient in his demeanor and craft. A toilet was properly bolted, a pipe was cleared and sink drains were properly attached. As a result of this experience I'd definitely consider using them again.

I contacted Hanna's Plumbing based on their review on Angie's List. They were prompt to send out a repairman who looked at the faucet and told me it needed replacement. They do not rep fixtures and told me I needed to order a faucet and when it was delivered, to call them back and set up a time to finish the job. I ordered the faucet, had it delivered, rescheduled the plumbers-all this over the phone-mind you. My tenant reported that the repairman was promp, polite, and neat. I'm extemely satisfied.

Everything went very well. I initially contacted vendor over the phone, and confirmed via email. Talked with Owner on the phone, and he gave me hourly rates and an explained some could only be estimated by site review. (they easily rescheduled for me, when i first had a schedule conflict.) Worker and an Assist showed up promptly, assessed situation, returned with tools and parts. We first discussed the "foot faucet" (which is a foot control-pedal for the kitchen sink). I understood the Worker's explanation to require an outside electrician to further assist before the work could be completed. I bought a replacement for the kitchen disposal, as recommended by the Worker in his phone assesment, at local hardware megastore. He installed it quickly under the kitchen sink, and also replaced some rotting pipes he found. (we live in a small condo building, piping is 13 years old with copper in the walls. but kitchen sink pipes were brass-plated cheap metal. ) The Assist worked on initial dismantling of toilets, and replacment of rotting base, flange, and spacers. As work was finished quickly, i gave them additional tasks. They adapted and continued. I added the shower faucet replacement-- which was the source of sqealing pipes for the last 5 years-- as projects i had started (weeks ago) but I had not completed. All work was completed in around 4 hours. They gave me an Angies List discount as well! note: There was a communication error. The foot faucet is a foot control switch for a kitchen faucet made by a third party vendor. I asked a few questions about it initally with the Owner (my initial phone conversation). I was sure to explain the electrical component - as it was a "wild card" in my opinion. I emailed them the 3rd-party info and a PDF of install directions. When the worker showed up, he had NOT been informed there was a electrical component. Not really a concern though, as the Worker offered to fulfill the "plumbing portion of the work" while i work out the electricity portion, and "come back to finish" Overall: Very satisfied. Would reccommend! Will use again.

Due to a flaw in our boiler installation (by a different company) our house filled with gas and the gas company insisted we run a pressure check on the gas system. Mark from Hannah plumbing was very good about coming out on very short notice (under 48 hours) to run the pressure check and then fixed the gas leaks found. He also saved the defective part from the gas line to the boiler and wrote us a report and itemized bill so we could try to get compensation from the gas company. He also hooked up the appliances he had installed plumbing for on his previous visit. I was a bit put out when he told me this would be an extra charge as it would have been free on the first visit. I can understand that but should have been informed when I first asked him to hook up the appliances, not after he had already done so. However, as usual, he went above and beyond on the installation. Instead of just hooking up the dishwasher, he bolted it down so it wouldn't tip over (we don't currently have any cabinets to hold it in the way it's supposed to be done) and he also tested all the appliances and repaired leaks he found in the plumbing to the washer. So, even if they weren't officially free, the appliance hook up was still sort of free because it saved us from paying someone to come in and fix the leak later.
Description of Work: The contractor performed a pressure check on our gas lines and fixed a number of leaks. They also hooked up appliances to the plumbing they'd previously installed, tested them, and made repairs as needed to that plumbing.

The technician was very helpful about the estimate. He went over the whole house with me and broke down the different options as well as explaining how to get what I wanted to work with the existing structure of the house. There was a delay between estimate and work because we had to wait for some other contractors to finish their jobs. Perhaps because of this delay, I had some difficulty getting the contractor to respond to schedule the actual work. but when I did, he was good about finding the earliest possible time to come out and complete the job. Two technicians did the work in two days, about 8-12 hours the first day and maybe 4 the second. There was a lot of loud drilling and vibrating and fumes were released through the house all of the first day but that is probably unavoidable and the work looked excellent when they were done. They also did an excellent job of cleaning up after themselves. Once I went down into the basement to check on the work and the place was completely trashed from end to end, which worried me because I've had some difficulty with other contractors not cleaning up after themselves. But, when I went back down in the evening after they'd stopped for the day, it was virtually spotless. They also helped me draw up a plan for future work so I can continue to up date my plumbing easily and supplied me with materials and instructions for hooking appliances to the fixtures they had installed.
Description of Work: Installed new copper water pipes and PVC drains for a kitchen sink/dishwasher and a washer/dryer as well as a an island vent for the sink and a vent (drilled through brick wall) for the dryer. This is a very old house so they had to work around and link up with the old cast iron piping system to achieve these things.

The drain in my basement tub had not worked properly for over 2 years. I have had issues with tree roots in my lines since moving into my home 8 years ago. Other plummers have come out to rod the main sewer line but the tub's drainage would slow down shortly afterwards. One year I paid $3200.00 to have the sewer line replaced, and that was money I wasted. The service was poor and not done properly ( I later learned). Everyone said they needed to dig from the outside in and that just didn't make sense to me since the only line that was blocked was that one tub, all other lines in my home worked fine. I knew the problem was with the pipes running from the tub. The young man came and worked diligently ( it wasn't easy, I was later told that it was tree roots.....no surprise there).to clear the line and he was successful. He went in through the tub which no one else was willing to do. Except for the fact that my appointment was for 10:00 AM and I received a call at 11:15 informing me that the plummer would arrive in about an hour, I have nothing to complain about. I will definitely use Hannah again in the future.
