Just poor diagnosis. Technician (Paco) opened the rear of the washer and didn't do any troubleshooting besides turning the washer on and watching it turn off several times. He went to his truck to smoke and returned with a crazy quote to do the repair. The quote was just $200 of what a new machine would cost. I contacted Angi's customer service to complain and receive to my money for the service call. Well that didn't go well as I got the phone tag game until the last person just hung up on me. This makes me very suspicious of ever using Angi again.
Description of Work: NONE. I refused to let them do anything further than poorly diagnosing, after realizing their lack of knowledge to repair this washer.

I contacted this business to repair my washer in June. I had a service man come to my house on 6/24/2020 and was told my washer needed to have the lock replaced. I informed the service man that the problem was not the lock it was the washer because it would not have remained locked after the washer was completed. He ordered the part anyway and charged $290.00 to replace the lock. The next day her came to replace the lock and I asked him to run a cycle. As soon as the cycle started, the washer again locked itself and would not run. He told me that they would order something else and be back. He returned with another Sr Technician on 7/15/2020 to replace some part they ordered and then informed me the part was not correct and that they had to deal with the manufacturer to see what the next step would be. I waited 15 days and no response, so I called on 7/30, 7/31, 8/1, and 8/2. On 8/3 I received a call from the Sr technician to say that they haven't received a resolution from the manufacturer. On 8/12 a new technician came to my house and said that he figured out the problem and it was the main machine control board part# 5304521907 and it was on back order so it may be a while. I waited another week and began searching the internet for the part to see if I could find it. I found the part on 6 websites and only 1 of them said backorder. I called 1-week later 8/19 and asked if I could order the part myself and have them install it. I was told if I did, they would not give me a guarantee and I should wait for them to get it in for the guarantee. 9/1 I called again to see if I could get a status and was told they would call me back. I waited again and called 9/8 to see if I could get a status, no call back. I called 9/9 and was finally told that the part was located, and they were told they could get it by 9/10 or 9/11. I called back on 9/12 and was told the part is still on backorder and they would speak with the technician and they would call me back on 9/14. No call so I called back 9/15 to see what the technician had advised and was told that they would find out and call me back. On 9/22 I called back and spoke with Emoni and was told that she had no update for me and could have the technician call me back. I advised that at this point it had been over 3 months that I had been very patient with them and since August I was more patient being told the part was on backorder. I also advised that as of the call on 9/15 I had ordered the part myself and had received it, so I wanted to sever ties with the company. I also advised that I would be filing a complaint with the BBB of their service and I wanted to know if they could send out a technician to put my washer back together since they had completely dismantled it in June. She told me she could send out a technician today around 3pm-6pm to put it back together and if I didn’t mind letting her know where I purchased the part from. I gave her the information and was told that they could have the technician install it. For fear that they have already told me they would not guarantee a part I purchased myself, I was very uneasy in trusting this company that has had not so great customer service, install my part. I was leery that they would do something to sabotage the part and then I would be left in the same position I was in at this time.

They were able to help us fairly weigh our options to repair or replace the dryer. We ended up repairing it. They ordered the part and had it up and running in 48 hours.
Description of Work: 10 year old dryer was completely repaired.

Description of Work: Called because our ice maker needed to be replaced. Everything else worked perfectly. The repairman found something else wrong and it ended up costing more than just a new ice maker. Sine then the freezer quit. They were late the first time and when I called for them to come out again, the told between 11-2pm. By 2 pm, they had not called or arrived. I called them and they said they were running late and couldn't get to it for another hour. I would have been fine with that if they would just have given me a call.

When I called hte morning of the 2nd appointment, they had totally lost the appointment and asked if I wanted to reschedule. Called several times and eventually asked them to have the manager call back. Manager called me back and explained that the mix up was because their repairman had not confirmed something or other with the scheduler. I suggested that this was not my problem and that they needed to come right away. The manager (possibly owner) started raising her voice and arguing with me. This was totally uncalled for, so I cancelled the appointment and will never call this company again. My adivce, is that they have other unfavorable reviews, stay away. Also check BBB reports.
Description of Work: My wife found this company in the yellow pages. Had no recommendation or prior experience. They agreed to come to our home and fix a broken refrigerator. They charged $140 to come to look at the problem and then quoted another $340 for parts to finish the job. My wife called me and put the repairman on the phone. Since I only paid around $500-$600 for the fridge (on sale), I told the repairman on the phone that the quote was too much and asked him to shut down the job and leave. After this I went to ABT appliance and found that not only was my fridge discontinued, they really did not have anything that fit under $1,100. So I called the company back to reschedule and also fix my broken dishwasher. They seemed OK when I scheduled the 2nd visit. This was on the only day my wife is off from work. Bottom line is that they charged me $140 and did not fix anything. Much more than the $70-$75 which is customery for a service call and estimate.

It has been 5 weeks since a repair person said that he would have a dryer wheel replacement in "just a few days." I gave him a week and a half before I called to see what was happening. Was told he would call me back. No call. Called several times to see what was the status, keep being told part will be here on Weds. for 3 weeks straight. Finally got the manager, Frankie, today, and have someone supposedly coming tomorrow. We will see.
Description of Work: Service call for a dishwasher and a dryer. Dishwasher, I will just have to replace. Estimate higher for repair than replacement. Probably a correct diagnosis of problem with motor. Dryer, he is thinking is a problem with dryer wheel. No repair as of yet, see below. I did pay for service call and deposit on dryer wheel.

He did what he was supposed do and he did a good job cleaning up everything when he was finished. He went above and beyond in my opinion. He was also very courteous and polite. I would recommend this company.
Description of Work: They replaced a part on my washer because it wouldn't spin out.
