Office staff and the actual movers were professional, really listened to concerns and answered questions etc. The guys that moved it were also courteous, respectful and very nice. They gave updates on arrival time as well. Price was a little high but honestly worth it. Definitely would use them again.

Very pleased with every part of Quality Piano, LLC from Joe Wagner, who gave me the initial estimate to move/return our grand piano and was my contact for any questions, to Tony Jhonny, and Brandon, who took the time and care to make sure my piano was safely wrapped and moved. I will not hesitate to to use Quality Piano Moving company again. Customer service was excellent and I appreciated the ease of making an appointment, being given a morning or afternoon preference. Then the day before being called and given a 2 hour window for arrival.

The move went well. The movers were quite friendly and even interacted with my fascinated 4 & 6 year olds. My only complaint was that they called me at 6:00 in the morning to move the appointment up an hour to 7:00 from the time we arranged the day before. My family was sleeping and the piano was coming to my house not from it. I was certainly not rearranging the pick up time that early with the seller. Other than this, their work was great and the price the best.

This was the easiest thing I've ever had to move. I contacted Jaime at QPM by email, gave him my parameters, and he emailed me back a quote in less than an hour. The price was extremely reasonable and included all parties' insurance. The day before the move, I emailed to confirm the timing and was given a 2 hour window. QPM texted me about 10 mins before they would be at the pick up location, and was delivering at my house in record time. It took the guys about 10 mins to unload and place my piano, then they were gone. I swear, if I hadn't gotten a piano moved in and a check cashed, I might believe it didn't happen. Easiest move ever, and not a scratch or problem with the service. A+.

The actual moving of the piano was great, but the customer service was terrible. I found a company through Angie’s List for my daughter and her husband to have a piano moved on 8/20/2016. We are very dissatisfied with the customer service on the day of the move. I have copied and pasted the actual emails for your review. They have offered a $35 credit (which they never sent) and, frankly, this is a joke since their communication error resulted in our (and the seller’s) having to change plans for the remainder of the day. A simple phone call would have made a world of difference. If the movers are working outside of office hours, the customer should be given another contact number – this simple solution would have avoided a very chaotic, upsetting day. Seriously, a 3 1/2 hour delay without as much as a phone call!!!?? Our (my son-in-law's) email to the company on Sunday 8/21/2016: We scheduled to have a piano moved on Saturday, August 20th. The time period we were given was between 3-5pm. We we're also told that on Saturdays deliveries tend run early so that we should be ready at the pick up location by 3pm. My wife and I arrived at the pick up address at 3pm. We sat at that location (in our car) for 2 hours with out receiving any phone call. We then had to go to the door of the person we were buying the piano from and apologize because you were a no show. As I was walking back to my car I received a phone all from the delivery man who proceeded to tell me they would not be there until 6:30pm. I asked why they didn't call earlier and the response was that they "thought " the office called us to tell us about the delay. We tried to call the office multiple times (check your caller id and voicemail) but received no answer because you close at 2pm. Although deliveries run until 5, we were never given any other number by which we could contact someone. I then had to go back to the sellers door and ask if they could wait another 1 1/2 hours. They were not happy, but graciously agreed. Since my children were due home, I had to head home to drop off my wife. I then wait about 30 minutes only to turn around to go back to meet the movers at the sellers’ home . I also had to call and cancel the piano tuner who was due at my house at 6:30. We told the delivery man that we expected a large discount because this was a huge inconvenience not to mention embarrassing for us to the seller. He said he would talk to the office. Then he called me back and said the office closes at 2pm so he couldn't talk to anyone. Clearly we knew the office was closed and we told him that we assumed he would have had a different number to reach someone. Then he told us that we would have to give him a check for the full amount and then discuss it with you on Monday. The piano was finally picked up and delivered and we gave them a check for the full $350. I do not expect to pay this amount. The service was unacceptable and took up our entire afternoon and early evening. I found your company on Angie's list and had high expectations. I am extremely disappointed! A single phone call telling us you were running late could have prevented the entire situation. I understand weather and other circumstances can sometimes cause delays, a simple to call us as soon as you realize you will be late would have made a world of difference in customer service. Response from Quality Piano Moving: Andrew, Sorry for the inconvenience our scheduling caused you. This is a rare instance of miscommunication and Saturday traffic. Our discount wouldn’t be more than 10%. I am sure Joe will agree to offer this to you and send a check sometime this week. Just a fyi… Pianos shouldn’t be tuned until it has settled in its new home which most tuners recommend waiting at least a week but on average two weeks. Joe is out today and will be back tomorrow morning. I will talk with him and he will get back to you. Best, Jaime Ortiz |Quality Piano Moving, LLC 1765 W Cortland Court Addison, IL 60101 Phone 773-455-6956 Fax:518-519-5383 Email:Jaime@qualitypianomoving.com Website: QualityPianoMoving.com My son-in-laws response on Monday, 8/22: I called on Monday 8/22/16 to talk to somebody regarding the lack of communication and long delay in moving our piano on Saturday 8/20/16. I left a message on the company voicemail and did not receive a call back. I then called again on Tuesday and spoke with Joe who told me that they would only credit us $35. They made excuses that the weather was bad. While I completely understand the weather was not in their control my complaint is that I never received a phone call informing me that there would be a delay. Had I been aware that they were running late I could have informed the seller and restructured our day. He admitted there was a miscommunication on their part and the men moving the piano should have had his direct number. I told him I was dissatisfied with an offer of $35 for the huge inconvenience and embarrassment it caused me and the sellers. He said he would talk to the owner and call me back before closing that day. It is now Monday, August 29, and I have still not received any communication back from them. I'm can only assume they are not going to credit me anything because they did go ahead and cash my check for $350. I would never use or recommend this company to anybody. The lack of communication and unwillingness to take any responsibility is horrible. The only positive thing I can say as the once they did pick up the piano and move it, it was moved in good condition. Again, a simple phone call could have prevented this entire situation. Also, acknowledging that they made a mistake would've went along way. I'm extremely disappointed.

Response from Quality Piano Moving
We are very sorry for the stress we caused. Our company is not used to this because it is very seldom for us to be late. Things happened that day out of our control. We believe the discount was appropriate for the tardiness of our arrival. It is with regret that you did not feel the same. As you can see from our stellar reviews on Angies list and other reliable sources that this is a one off that doesn't happen to us. We do not provide our employees phone number on weekends because they do not take their work home. Email communication is the best way to get a hold of us during off business hours. We try to accommodate our customers by taking on Saturdays on the field but to keep our cost down we cannot keep the office open at all times. Once again we are sorry you had this experience and it was great that your piano was moved with the professionalism and care that we are known for. Best, Jaime Ortiz

I called in a panic - we needed to get the piano out and drive the moving van back the next day. They assured me they did this kind of move "all the time," and could come out the next morning. 8:15 a.m. the next morning, three great guys showed up, very nice and professional. They moved the piano with ease! It was a pleasure watching them do the job!
Description of Work: Moved a piano down a steep flight of stairs that had a sharp turn at the top. "Regular" movers who were at the house to load a moving van, and on phone consult said they would move it, saw the set up and declined.

Wanting to keep my grandmother's 100 yr old piano in the family required me to find a mover or it would have been donated. Not having any past experience with movers or pianos, I began calling down the list. My only criteria was hiring the one who gave the lowest price. This company's quote was about $100 less than all the others. I am so glad that I hired them. They took very good care of the piano and knew exactly what they were doing. The movers were friendly, courteous and very professional. They arrived promptly and finished the job quickly. I know my grandmother is smiling down on them. This piano will eventually be moved to a more permanent location. When that time comes, I will only use this company.

The move couldn't have been smoother. They knew exactly what they were doing and did it well. They came within the agreed upon time window and made sure that they didn't damage the piano or either house. It was apparent that these guys have done this more times than they could count, but at the same time they were attentive to the job and had a great attitude when I changed my mind about the orientation of the instrument once it was set up. If I ever need a piano moved again, I'll definitely contact Quality Piano Moving. Friendly and professional at a reasonable price that included insurance at both houses.

The crew showed up punctually, was courteous and professional, and accomplished the first move with no difficulty. The second move proved to be a problem, as the piano was very heavy, and they had to call in an extra man to accomplish the job. But they got the job done. In the process, they slightly damaged a wall, but quickly dispatched a carpenter to fix it at no cost.
Description of Work: I hired them to move 2 pianos. One was fairly simple: a spinet out of a first floor living room and up a wide staircase to an apartment. The second was much more difficult: a 5'8" grand that had to be moved up 2 narrow flights of stairs into my apartment.
