Description of Work: The salesman Stewart was always on time and very professional. We met with him twice. He was low pressure sales and answered all of our questions. The installer was friendly and also within the time frame, however his bags of salt leaked on our stairs and into our basement. I am recovering from surgery and unable to clean up this mess. He mentioned he leaked but did not offer to clean it up. They should carry small vacuums or brooms to clean up their messes.

+ -1 moreFor more than 20 years, we have gotten our water softener salt from Culligan of Belvidere. The service has always been good and the people are friendly. For several years now, we've had salt delivered and it has never been an issue because someone is generally home. This past week, however, no one was home. We never know exactly when they are coming and there is no set date/time. Last week there was a delivery attempt notice on the door and a $2.00 charge for not being home. When we called about it we were told that this was a policy instituted in the past year. How can customers possibly ensure that they will be home without a specific delivery date and time? We were then told that the next delivery will be next month - that they won't try to re-deliver this month. Plenty of time to look around for a new delivery service. What a shame.
