Because our house was very old there were a few problems which we had expected, but they were taken care of in good time to our satisfaction.

After my initial contact by e-mail, I received a phone call within two hours. After discussions with company personnel, I was asked to talk to John (John Beyer). I called his cell phone and left a message. He responded within an hour and we discussed what I needed. He asked questions and said a representative would go out and inspect the flashing and roof. This maybe took a week or two (was done on Nov. 21), but there was no hurry. On Nov. 24 I was notified Mr. Beyer was waiting on the roofer to estimate costs. A phone call to me Dec. 9th indicated the roofer was still working on it. On Dec. 17th I received a contract detailing what was to be done and materials to be used along with an estimate. I returned the contract and am now waiting for warmer weather to come so construction can start. In March weather conditions were right and a crew of three worked and finished on a Saturday. Pictures were sent to me showing before and after construction. Received a call Saturday morning from Mr. Beyer who was at the site saying they were starting. I was impressed by the promptness in answer to my contacts and follow up information. My past experience with other builders is that no contact is made unless I called to see what was happening.

Excellent work, great service. I hired Beyer Builders to help my elderly parents with a serious bathroom problem. Their very old toilet had leaked and caused visible floor and wall damage. When Beyer Builders removed the toilet and the wall they discovered a great deal of mold inside. They proceeded to replace the toilet, some old pipes, the wall on bathroom side and adjoining closet side, and the floor. They were professional, prompt, courteous, and trustworthy. The woman who helped us on the phone (sorry, I don't remember her name) was very nice, understanding, and helpful. She even handled submitting a claim, with photos, to my parents insurance company for the mold issue. Thanks to all!

Mr Beyer was very prompt in his initial contacts and bids on putting in the door. He helped verify that what we wanted would fit into the existing space with no major reworking involved. After talking to him we ordered the door and were given a delivery day at the end of August. Once we received this information we contacted Mr Beyer and we setup an install date. They day of installation he showed up promptly when I was told he would. After laying surveying the new door he laid out his equipment and got immediately to work. After removing the door and taking some new measurements it was determined that the new door was slightly smaller than the opening. So he had to make a trip to get some supplied to frame the opening to the right size. When he returned we discussed accommodating the alarm wires and he promptly proceeded back to work. Once the door was installed he showed me how to make minor seasonal adjustments to it for when the weather changed. What impressed me the most was his courtesy at answering questions and his attention to detail on taking care of everything. He took the time to clean up after each step of the process insuring that construction debris did not have the chance to do any incidental damage. I look forward to having him perform projects that are beyond my current knowledge and ability to perform on the house myself.

We recommend Beyer Builders to any home owner in the Rockford area. We made contact with them upon having water damage done to our living and dining rooms, bedroom and garage. Sharon and John work with us to explain to an insurance adjustor how the job needed to be done right. The crew of Steve, Pat and John performed all of the steps necessary to restore our home. Steve demonstrated old world skills in his craftsmanship as he restored our home. I enjoy watching HGTV and enjoy watching Mike Holmes; we have a ?Mike? in our area with John Beyer because he completes the job the right way.

John was prompt and polite. The job was well done. John even fixed my grandsons trainer wheels on his bike. John has serviced me twice and I will continue to use his services.

After a few days' delay, partly caused by weather, the work was done efficiently by the crew, who obviously know their job and the finished result looks good. It was convenient to do part of the communicating via email; otherwise the telephone person was very polite. We would use this company again.

They had to remove all the siding and insulation around the door just to get to the frame. They worked non stop the entire time they were here and did a GREAT job! The new door looks fantastic! They worked around our schedule to get it done on a holiday week! Would highly recommend them! They will be the first company we call for anything!!!

All work from tear-out of unnecessary structure to construction of new ramp were completed in a very professional manner.

John responded promptly to our request for quote and provided timely detailed written estimates across a couple of iterations as the scope of work was modified. Given the go-ahead he provided a time-line to start and completion of the work based of his backlog and the availability of materials which was right on. The work was performed in a professional manner with all the detail finish aspects of the work, which a lot of times are missed, covered. Job cleanup was very good, including removal of constuction debris, which other bidders did not offer. Overall, having Beyer Builders do the work was a very satisfactory experience and I would not hesitate to engage them for additional work, or recommend them to neighbors and friends.

All went well... timely, professional, responsive

John arrived on time and got busy right away.He explained everything to my wife and was very professional .I had purchased the door before John arrived to do the work,after installing the door some damage was noticed on the door from the factory.John contacted the menards he does business with to help us resovle the problem.They followed up a cpl days later to make sure everything they could do was done.

After a few rain delays, Beyer came out over 2 days and replaced our main entryway door. John replaced the rotten threshold with treated lumber and raised the whole opening by about 1 1/2 inches so that there would be less problems with water infiltration, the original opening was flush with the front porch! The new door installation is square and flush. John took care to thoroughly calk and seal everything possible with paintable calk. Looking good! The basement slider windows were approximately 40 years old and really BAD. John replaced these windows with Crestline energy efficient windows. which were pricey cause they had to be special ordered due to a non-standard size. Installed new outside trim to finish. The floor joist was installed by "sistering" the broken joist with a laminated beam with glue and screws holding the 2 joists together permanently. I noticed immediately that the floor has much less bounce. Excellent job. Beyer Builder's did take care of cleaning up work areas fairly well, although I did find staples on the garage floor, a few nails inside and out around basement windows, a box knife blade and screws on front porch, but considering how messy the job was to do that's not bad at all. I wasn't aware the I needed to dispose of the scrapped door and windows at the time of the bid. Nothing was mentioned in the contract about it. This is probably the normal thing for jobs like this because we are new the this contractor thing.

I used their service several times. The guy's job is very satisfactory. He knows what he is doing.

We used them for an estimate. Not knowing the project scope of the services we required, it ended up being way out of our budget. We will need to save more to perform the work. Everything was done very well, just as was promised. All of his staff came on time, cleaned up after each visit and were very trustworthy. He is my contractor for life!

Meet with John many times before start of project, He explain every bit of the process with me and meet with the painter.They were always on time and very professional. I had a very good experience and was very happy with the end results.

I contacted Beyer Builders in late January to get an estimate for a rehab of the downstairs bathroom in my 110+ year-old home. John promptly responded and scheduled an appointment to come discuss the work I wanted to have done. He arrived promptly for the meeting on the scheduled date. Of particular concern to me was some damage to the existing ceramic tile floor where the supply lines for the clawfoot tub had been installed. He steered me away from replacing the floor (which was in excellent condition everywhere else) and suggested a work-around that wouldn't involve tearing up the floor (thus saving me a lot of money). I had already selected a vanity, fan/light and fixtures for the tub and John was very accommodating regarding having me order the fixtures and scheduling the install once everything had arrived. I did ask him to obtain the new toilet and he suggested one with a vintage look that worked very well with the decor in the bathroom. On the scheduled date for the installation work, John arrived right on time. Each day he left the room picked up and free of debris from the rehab process. The entire project only took 2 days and a couple of hours on a third day. I was especially impressed with the installation of the new supply lines and drain for the clawfoot tub - the access from the basement was awkward but he got it done and it looks great. I couldn't be happier with the quality of the work he performed. Everything looks beautiful. John was very easy to work with throughout the entire process. I would absolutely recommend Beyer Builders!

We have always done all of the remolding & repairs ourselves in our home, but as we get older we can't do a lot of things. We really didn't know who to call and we read all the great reviews on Beyer Builders on Angles List.. We now have turned to Beyer Builders for there help with all our projects and repairs. John came out & gave us a estimate on installing a new dish washer & Granite counter top & stainless steel sink. He didn't try tp pressuring us into getting things done that we could not afford. He gave us a good price on just what we asked for. John is a very considerate & friendly person & we hit it off right away. He is very well informed on all the new product on the market. He replaced our countertop and sink & installed a new dish washer. He had to cutout a cabinet to installed the dish washer then rebuild the opening. He connected all the plumbing and electric for the dish washer.He make sure that everything was picked up and clean when he left each day. John in a very kind & considerate person & a great worker & we would recommend him to anyone. We now know who to call when we need any job done, John at Beyer Builders! The work went very well. John was very responsive and flexible when the schedule was changed due to other contractors' issues. The quality of the work was excellent and completed in a timely way. As a result, we have more projects for Beyer waiting in the wings.

I hired Beyer Builders to complete some basic framing, drywalling and electrical work, and they were excellent to work with. Their communication was perfect, they showed up exactly when they said they would, and the work was first-rate. I really appreciate their upfront quote. Mostly, though, I appreciated their attention to the details of customer service, which is often neglected in the construction trades.

They first sealed the french door and then cut and stained the molding around the door to match.

He started the job on the date he said he would. It did take longer than he had originally estimated because of the amount of drying that had to happen before he could go onto the next step. However that was not a big deal with us as we understood the problems and we wanted it done right and not hurried. When we brought it to his attention that we did not like the color of the switch plate, he changed it immediately. John cleaned up after himself after each day and did not leave a mess around. We are very pleased with the job and plan to use him again. In fact, we are waiting on a quote from him to put up new molding around the sunroom door and match the stain of the other molding in the room.

My original contractor didn't return my calls to complete this project so called Beyer Builders. John came out and did the dryer vent connection right away at a reasonable price. He sent me an estimate via email and Sharon Beyer called me to confirm that I received the estimate. She was able to schedule to work right away. The workmen were professional and the work was completed in less the two weeks. The garage looks great and the area was cleaned up by the time they were done. I would and will call them for other projects.The estimate was also the final price-no add ons.
