The service was excellent. He arrived on time and processed the job within a few hours. He also fixed damage that was done by the house builder when the door was improperly installed. He fixed wood that was rotted due to the leak form the housing contractor and ensure it would not be an issue in the future.

Unlike home repair experiences of the past, John Beyer returned phone calls promptly, thoroughly explained all work that would need to be done, and gave us accurate estimates all along the way. His wife Sharon would call ahead of each part of the project and tell us when to expect the workmen and what they would be doing that day. At each step of the project, we compared prices online with the estimates John gave us for the various jobs being done, and he was either the same or a little under the prices we found. The workmen sent in for the project were professional and established in their trades. We felt comfortable having them in our home. To sum it up, this remodeling experience was like "the old days" where you trusted the workmen in your home and all promises were kept. We highly recommend Beyer Builders.

I absolutely loved working with Sharon and John Beyer. They listened to what I wanted, took older family member's needs into consideration, and always took care of any issues with materials first hand. Menards had delivered a damaged cabinet and a damaged countertop. John took all the necessary steps needed to correct the situation, and communicated to Menards that the carelessness showed by some of their employees, was unacceptable. John and Sharon had our best interests in mind during the entire project. John and his right hand man, Steve, did a lot of extra things they didn't have to do. They installed the new hardware for our curtains, added a solid step to our entry way in the garage, set up our kitchen so it could be some what functional over the Christmas holiday, because we were still in mid-construction, and also when the wrong cabinet was delivered from Menards, Beyer let us keep it and they installed it in the laundry room for extra storage. The contractor that layed the tile recommended a different grout color than we had originally picked out, and it's perfect. He also took it upon himself to recommend the layout for the tile. If you have pets, these are the people you want to work on your house. My dog and my cat really liked these guys, almost to the point I thought my Cocker Spaniel was going to go home with them. I highly recommend John & Sharon Beyer, Steve, and the other contractors they use for all of your home improvement needs. In fact I have a few projects I want to tackle now that the kitchen is done, and John and Sharon will be my first call. If the project is something they typically don't handle, I know any subcontractors they recommend will not disappoint. In the end, we ended up with a kitchen we fell in love with, and new friends, that will just happen to be our first call with any other home improvement projects. John & Sharon, thank you so much for the thought and care you put into our kitchen remodel. You'll be hearing from me soon. Love you guys!!

I called their offices and Sharon informed me that they were extremely busy. In spite of the fact that they were unable to do the work, she referred me to a plumber they recommended and followed up with me after initial my call to make sure I was taken care of. If I were to have a plumbing problem in the future, I will check in with them first to see if they can fit me into their schedule.

Everything went fine. I live approximately 200 miles away so I was kept informed by e-mail of what was happening (bad weather held up project starting). When finished I was provided with pictures of what was done along with water damage shots. Work was done quickly. Clean up was great according to my renter.

Doors were heavy and large so they picked them up and installed them. This was a unique installation because it was on the second floor and the jam had to be extended and then installed in brick and concrete. Steve did a professional install and cleaned -up. He went the second mile by cutting-up the old doors so they would fit in the dumpster, which is a requirement of the condo association. Sharon, the owner, returned calls, emailed quotes, and scheduled our job ASAP. We were very happy with our choice of contractors and will recommend them to our friends and use them again in the future.

Completed on time by professionals that were well equipped to handle all complications that arose.

So far, we've had a lot of fun getting ready for the project. We will update the review later when the project is finished.

This is the second time I have used Beyer Builders and they again provided excellent service. All the work was done successfully and professionally. They communicate in a timely manner and are trustworthy and fairly priced. John and Sharon make a great team covering all the bases of providing great service. Highly recommend.

Through the entire process, all associated with Beyer Builders were very friendly and accommodating. Easy to get along with even when we changed the plans and added updates. We had a friend who did some work in the house and John kept him informed on the progress and gave him dates when he could come and complete his work. All mess was picked up and cleaned at the end of each day, which made living in the house easier. Telephone calls or emails were answered timely and we were kept informed on any delays. The time line that they gave us for the remodel was very helpful, and they made it possible for us to have a Thanksgiving dinner in our new kitchen. Would call them again for work to be done and recommend them to anyone looking for a good reliable contractor.

This is the second time I have hired Beyer Builders (the first time was for an update of my first floor bathroom) and I would absolutely hire them again. John was great about promptly scheduling a time to meet me to look at the proposed work and give me an estimate. All of the work was completed swiftly and professionally. When the first round of repairs failed to completely remedy the water infiltration problem at one window, John quickly came back out and did a further assessment inside and out to determine what the remaining issue was. He then made sure that it was taken care of (for a very reasonable additional cost) and I haven't had any further problems since that time. The deck also turned out beautifully - and that was a large job. The job site was kept very clean and the Dumpster was removed soon after the job was done. As an example of how accommodating they are: the dumpster was situated in my driveway close enough to my garage that I couldn't quite get my second car out. When I mentioned it to John, he quickly offered to have the dumpster moved out further so that I would have access. I said that I would love that, but only if it wasn't too much trouble. When I arrived home from work that day, the dumpster had already been moved. In short, I'm very happy with every aspect of my experiences with Beyer Builders. They do quality work, are very professional and courteous, and a real pleasure to do business with. I'm already scheming to have them help me update my upstairs bathroom next...

Steve has old world craftsmanship; his skill is shown how the joints and edges align. Steve's knowledge, care and guiding principle of " If I won't like it at my house I won't do it at your house." makes Beyer Builders outstanding.

I needed to replace my back door which was damaged. Both my brother and I were present when we originally discussed this project with John Beyers and I made it very clear that I wanted all outdoor surfaces covered in dark brown aluminum just like the original door had been installed. I paid $3432.00 for the door and other materials before he ordered the door. John Beyers installed the door on July 16th. He demonstrated the lock from the inside only. I am disabled and don't get around very well and he was in such a rush to leave, I never got to see the outside until after he left. When I did see the outside, I was shocked to see he had left the outdoor trim completely unfinished and vulnerable to the elements, (Photo attached) no finish of any kind, just the raw, unfinished wood. He also left nails and staples all over my deck and the screen door wasn't even attached at the bottom. It was left to swing in the wind which the other attached photo shows. I called John the following day when he said that finishing the trim wasn't expressly written into the contract and if I wanted him to finish this trim, I would have to pay him another $150.00. I received the bill (Postmarked July 25, 2014) for his labor on July 28th. On August 7th, I received a phone call from Mrs Beyers where she stated, "Your door has no warranty," and "You don't own your Pella door." She also stated if she did not RECEIVE payment in 3 days, she was going to sue me. I have an audio recording of this entire call if anybody doubts this. I paid this bill within 10 days receiving the bill.

I have worked with Beyers once before and I called them this time to help with a kitchen remodel. As usual my sons and I did some of the work. This time we took down the soffit and and put up drywall. The kitchen walls were previously drywalled with plaster over. After the new drywall was up I noticed it wasn't even with the existing walls. I can do a lot of projects but was not going to attempt plaster work. I called Beyer and asked for help. Sharon referred me to Gordy Johnson who does plaster work for them. He came and gave me an estimate and was able to do the work the next day. He was friendly and professional. The work was beautifully done and after painting I am ready to have new cabinets installed on nice flat walls. I would definitely call him again for future work.

So thrilled with this experience, I don't even know where to begin. Roughly five years ago, we replaced a standard tub with a full walk-in shower in our master bathroom. I was very unhappy with the original contractor's work, and he (naturally) disappeared after finishing the job. We knew we would have to address it eventually, and that time came this year. After reading the reviews here, and getting an estimate from John Beyer, I decided to go with his firm. We are so glad we did. It was not the cheapest estimate, but the variance was only a few hundred dollars, and it was worth every single penny. From the beginning, John gave us a myriad of options and informed us of possible issues and ways to address them. We felt like we knew exactly what we were getting into before committing. We had to order a specialty surround because we needed to install an ADA compliant grab bar. The wait time from the manufacturer was long, but John and Sharon Beyer made weekly calls to ensure delivery as quickly as possible. When the surround finally came in, it was the week before my daughter was scheduled to have major surgery. John and Steve were able to complete the demolition the day before her surgery (a Monday), and then replace the sub floor, modify the plumbing, true up and greenboard the walls, and set the new base while we were at the hospital on Tuesday. They were done for the day as we were pulling in the driveway, and her first day home was quiet because they coordinated the time necessary for the base to set up. It worked out perfectly. Work resumed on Thursday, and they called every day to see what time would be best to come in case my daughter needed more time to rest. Amazing! Who does that? Steve and John got the surround in, and Steve did the finishing work with a final inspection by John. They came back one last time to install the special order grab bar that had just arrived. I got a daily recap of what had been completed and what was yet to be done, so we knew exactly what to expect every day. In addition to their thoughtfulness throughout the process, the work was absolutely meticulous. You would think that the bathroom was built around the shower, and not the other way around. They were even able to salvage our existing shower doors and assembly, which required modification to fit the new surround. Again, it looks like they were made to go together, and it saved us about a thousand dollars. Given the constraints they were working within, I had never hoped for such a beautiful finish on everything, including the drywall, matching grout line, retexturizing part of the ceiling - everything was flawless and looked like it had all been done at once. To top it all off, Steve left the bathroom immaculate, even on the messiest of work days. They took every precaution to protect the floors and carpeting. You will be hard pressed to find better craftsmanship in this area, and I guarantee you could not ask to work with a better group of people. Beyer Builders' service, workmanship, value, and quality has been world-class from start to finish. They will be the only firm I recommend (and I am telling everyone I know) for home renovations and repairs. I could not be happier with the experience or the results, and am very grateful to Sharon, John and Steve for everything they have done. They have earned our business and recommendation for life.

The results was excellent. He was more exacting and demanding on the quality of work than I was. I am impressed. All of the people that worked for him and the sub-contractors were professional. Some even took a few minutes to educate me on what they were doing and why. I greatly appreciated that service. I will use them again and have recommended them to friends.

We had some hail damage to our home & the first person we though of to do the repairs was Beyer Builder, in Belvidere, IL. We have had John Beyer do some repair work for us in the pass and we were very pleased with his work. We call Beyer Builders and they were very fast in coming out to look over the job and give us a price for the repairs. We had John repair the damage to the aluminum siding and replace the front and back storm door. He also replaced the main steel door and frame. Beyer Builders did another outstanding job on all the repairs in a timely fashion, we would not hesitate to recommend this builder to anyone that is looking for a reliable builder to do any kind of repair work, remodeling work, and new construction. Beyer Builders is a family owned business that take pride in there work. All calls are answered by Sharon or John Beyer and if it goes to a recording the call is returned by the next day or sooner. It is great to be able to speak to a person. Sharon helped us with the claim forms to our insurance company so that we could complete our claim. We have had a great experience dealing with John and Sharon from Beyer Builders and will not hesitate to do business with them again.. Keep up the good work!!

I would highly recommend Buyer Builders to others. They did a great job, communications were excellent, and they were very punctual for both the estimate and the work. Very professional.

Everything went great. The work was done quickly and they were very professional. The quality of work was excellent and I appreciated their attention to detail. I will definitely use them again.

Everything went very smoothly and here I am 1 year later, all is well. John is obviously knowledgeable as well as able. The charge was very reasonable. I would recommend him in a heartbeat. He was here when he said he would be & very friendly but definitely here to do a job. A job well done. We have another appointment for Friday this week for installing a utility sink/tub & faucet in the basement as well as a reverse osmosis filter system under the kitchen sink. I'll do my review more promptly this time, but there was no doubt that I would call him back again for this job.

This is our second project with Beyer Builders. We had them replace our trim and doors in our home. Steve has developed a knack to locate flaws and was able point out flaws found in the doors. John?s high standards ?to do the job right? caused him to made contact with the lumber yard to return and replace the doors. Steve?s pride for quality workmanship is demonstrated in his work. His guiding principle is ?if I won?t accept it at my house it won?t be acceptable in your home?. The May 2014 issue of Consumer Reports has an article ?How to win your insurance claim? in which they recommend to locate a trustworthy contractor before you have a need for one. We can highly recommend Beyer Builders to be such a contractor.

Everything went fine. There was a delay due to weather. Company kept be updated right up to the time the job was completed.

John and Sharon Beyer are very professional in every aspect, from submitting the estimate through the entire process. We felt during the estimating process that they really seemed to care about what we wanted and strived to achieve exactly what we desired, but also included professional suggestions they felt were important. There was NEVER any pressure regarding signing a contract quickly. Once we did sign the contract, we were given an approximate start date, which actually was sooner than first estimated. John will not start a project until all the material is on hand. We really appreciated that philosophy so we wouldn't be left waiting for materials with our house torn up. They gave us a schedule which was followed almost perfectly. They use QUALITY subcontractors. We had one very minor glitch which was cleared up and fixed IMMEDIATELY. The finishing details are amazing and so beautiful! We HIGHLY recommend Beyer Builders. They will definitely do any remodeling we may have in the future. They are fantastic people to work with.
