+ -1 moreRepairs went fine, but counter help was surly. Repairs completed about a week after estimate, but considering that item was brought in during busiest time of the season, it was not completely unexpected. Have used in the past, and will use again.

+ -1 moreThe day I called, I was advised that they always had problems getting repair parts for DEK equipment. They appeared more negative than positive about being able to help, but agreed to pick up the chipper for a $50.00 fee (one way) ~ 25 miles and a $75.00 inspection fee to check out what was required. After no feedback, I called them almost three weeks later asking what the status was. From the beginning, I was disappointed with their excuses and customer service. The lady I talked to provided little information except that the engine was locked up and needed to be replaced; they were having issues getting an estimate. She provided no feedback on what could have caused the engine to lock up and did not suggest I talk to the mechanic. She did agree to call me the first of the next week. In the meantime, I did a Web search and found a new replacement engine for $575.00 + delivery charges. When she called, I was advised the engine would cost $575 and the total bill would be $936.42.
Description of Work: Pick up and estimate repairs for a DEK Brushmaster Chipper/Shredder, Model CH4 (14 HP) purchased new in 2010. This is advertised as a heavy duty chipper. Used three times. Purchased for ~ 1000.00 (on sale). Needed the drive belt and a rubber hose off of the air filter replaced, oil changed, etc. The chipper had not been used for probably 1.5 years and had set outside, covered with a tarp. When I last started the engine, it smoked; the oil level appeared to be OK. The Jones Boys advertises as an authorized DEK service provider.
