I do not recommend you use this company! I am in the process of buying a new home and for record this is my first home. I called Maine Chimney Sweep for a quote for a fireplace inspection since it was a recommendation from our real estate company. The lady answered the phone and gave me a quote of $135. I then asked how soon they could do my inspection. They gave me less 2 weeks out so thought the price was fair and timing was right. Well time went by and I hadn’t received a confirmation so I called again the day before inspections to verify that we are set for June 1st and to verify the price one more time and ask who I should write my check to. I was then told $135 again and write a check to Maine Chimney Sweep. Now inspection day comes and I get a call from my real estate agent stating I owe double than what I wrote the check for. I then spoke to the field technician about this and he stated it was $135/fireplace. At this point I was not happy and upset with the lack of communication. #1 this is my first time buying a home. I was never asked how many fireplaces were in the home and had no idea this was even needed information to let them know. The tech then tells me that he will continue the inspections and so far everything looks very clean and there is only one safety issue so far. He had already been on the roof and done one of the 2 fireplaces at this point. I was also told the owner would call me back. Well 24 plus hours went by and I heard nothing from this company since I left several messages the day of the inspection trying to reach someone about my issue. On June 3rd I finally was able to reach Brenda at the front desk. I was then told I would be receiving only one fireplace report. This does not cut it when you have a contract for buying a new home when there is 2 fireplaces. I then asked for the owner to call me back like I was originally told would happen. The female owner calls me back. She gets very defensive quickly as I explained my situation. Instead of sending me a report she decides she is returning our money all together even after wasting her field techs time and then stated there were a lot of issues with the fireplaces after being told by the field tech that everything is very clean and one minor issue. As the professional in fireplaces and chimney industry your company should be asking multiple questions when someone calls for a quote. As a new home buyer I have no idea what kind of information you need. You misquoted me and then tried to lie to me about the condition of the fireplaces. Sad to see the lack of professionalism your team had to give to customers.

They reattached the whole chimney system for us. I am very satisfied with their work. The repair guy was prompt; he was on time. He worked extremely hard for the 2 hours he was there. He was friendly and checked everything out. We did not have any problems with his work. I will recommend them to others.
Description of Work: They repaired our aluminum chimney that had blown off during a storm.
