He did an excellent job. They were professional, on time, and even came back with a can of paint for me to keep that they had used. They went above and beyond and I had no problems with them at all. I would highly recommend them.

McDermott made the entire process relatively painless and even finished slightly ahead of their proposed schedule. From the start of our extensive remodeling and building project to the finish we found the McDermott team to be professional with excellent attention to detail. From the beginning of the design process they heard our aspirations and, with the help of an excellent design staff, developed a plan that exceeded our expectations. The finished product is phenomenal! Thanks to all - especially Josh, Ron, Megan, and Rob!

It was a little bumpy. They had quite an impressive sales pitch (which took too long) and then they failed to come through on a couple of the big attractions. They were very responsive and professional with the only caveat being they didn't get things ordered on time and it was, as I wrote above, bumpy. They were all very nice and knowledgeable and end product was excellent. Their lead carpenter and subcontractors were excellent. There was must more disorganization than we expected. I said above I would hire them again, which I would think about carefully, but overall, we are pleased. I would possibly recommend them to a friend, but would make it clear that you have to let them know immediately if something is not being delivered as promised, and you may have to be more patient than predicted. It's possible I wouldn't give them such a good rating if they weren't so very nice, but they are, and in the end, we love the work they did.

Perfect! Highly Recommended. They have access to the best skilled trades workers in the metro East. Any problem you have, they will know how to make it right or whether it can't be fixed and what options are possible. Very professional knowledge level. Everything was coordinated. You talk to one guy in charge, and he manages your job. I will never consider DIY again. You don't know what you don't know until a real contractor comes along. Worth every penny.

They did an excellent JOB! We have water damage from a swer line that had backed up. They came in after the demolition was done by ServePro. There help with dealing with the insurance company was invaluable. Their staff is great! very much a team. We would not have been able to put our house back together with out. They were patient, accommodating, respectful of our house and the quality of the work was great! We could not be happier about how our family room, bathroom and laundry rooms turned out.

Saw this company at a couple of local home shows and talked with them about some potential remodeling work. They seemed professional and enthusiastic, had lots of pretty pictures to show us. Setup an appointment for them to come to discuss our plans - it was 3 weeks before they could stop by. We were planning quite a lot of work, total approx. $60-70K but for budgeting reasons have to do some of the finishing ourselves (tiling, painting, laying hardwood etc.) and were getting other estimates also - start time April/May. They came, took pictures, took notes and measurements (we gave them photos of exactly what we wanted). Almost 3 weeks after their visit we had still heard nothing. I emailed them and they said they were scheduling appointments with clients who had to go to their office - 30 minute drive - to watch a presentation. I asked for a ballpark written estimate so we could work on our budgeting and compare with other estimates, and in return received a snippy little email basically stating that as we were capable of purchasing and finishing some aspects of the project ourselves they were ...quote ".. recommending that we may not be a good fit for each other when you consider your abilities as well as time line." Too busy to be bothered with us, basically, although they did offer to act as Consultant to oversee the project, at $100/hour. Ha ha. Maybe they should spend less time posing around at home shows. Get the impression this company is more interested in all the little frilly interior design work where they can crank up their profit margins. We are members of Direct Buy and can purchase some of the finishing materials ourselves - don't think they liked that idea since they specifically mentioned the fact in their 'we're too busy to deal with you' email. They really need to be upfront with prospective clients - we told them exactly what we wanted, in writing, then spent weeks messing around waiting on them - total waste of our time. Have since found other local contractors who have responded immediately and provided estimates within a week.

They did come out when I called, but they could never do any good. One window they installed was 1/8th of an inch off and you can see outside. When the wind blows you can see the air blowing in, and it is cold and also effects our electric bill . I appreciate that they are refuding our money from this project.

Work was fine. Pleasant people. Took forever. Did not communicate well. Get precise agreement & proposal. Better communication.
