 + -1 moreJack's response was to suggest that the problem was likely clogging of the cartridge due to body oils and other organics and recommend that I soak the cartridge in a solution of dishwasher detergent. I followed his advice and the problem has been essentially corrected. My purpose in writing this review, even though Custom Pools didn't do any work, is to point out how pleased I am with the FREE help from Jack. He could just as easily come out and performed the same cleaning and made a few bucks but instead chose to educate me at no charge. This is the sort of organization that I, and I hope others, will want to hire. Jack is now in my Contacts list for Pool Service and I recommend that others give him a try.
Description of Work: I was having filtration system pressure problems after spring startup; very low suction through the skimmer and little water flow. I contacted Jack Anderson at Custom Pools via email to see if this was the sort of problem he dealt with.

Description of Work: We bought our home with an in ground pool (liner) and after a few years the liner was shot and needed replacing. In addition, all the concrete around the pool was in complete disrepair. Jack's bid was prompt and competitive and we liked the fact that he took time to listen to us and worked with us to come up with ideas. They completely removed the existing concrete, which was nearly 2,000 square feet and replaced with cantilever concrete. They also replaced the liner and installed a slide for our kids. It was a big project and we ran into a few snags with our existing deck, which Jack and his team worked through like a pro. Overall we couldn't be happier with the result and are very glad we choose to work with Custom Pools! |

 + -1 moreHe spoke badly about some contractors and positively about others. The main reason we are not using Custom Pools is because he wanted to charge us $1,500 for a plan for the layout of the pool and pool decking. All other pool companies provide this as a service to the customer. When I am spending the amount we are on a pool I would like to see the plans first. What if I spent $1,500 and didn't like the plan. He had great ideas but unless I could see them on paper, without spending $1,500, I had nothing to go on if the ideas were even possible.
