Working with Ralph is great. There is no hard sell. He listens to me and I wait while he thinks over what I am trying to accomplish. He has come up with great ideas. He researches things and then calls me even months later. He is in this project for the long haul - he really cares about the property. I don't know what I would do without him. Really a value-added guy to have on your job.

We had worked with Christina who is one of their landscape architects. We had worked with her a long time ago when our house was first built. She had done the landscape design for our yard and we really liked working with her. That?s the reason why we chose them again. So she designed the steps and the patio. However, Thornapple Landscapes is a very good company in keeping an eye on things and their attention towards the job is very good. They are very customer service oriented and answer all our questions and concerns. If I have to use another landscape company again, then I won?t hesitate to use them.

He was good but the design was not anywhere near to our taste. I don?t really recall much about the customer contacts because my husband is the one who did all that. I just felt like the design part of it was not personalized. It was like he wanted to see the space, then go back and make up something he thought would look nice. He did not ask questions about what kind of plants we liked or any kind of ideas we might have had. I guess all landscaping companies work like that. I really dislike plants that have a heavy fragrance. I will not ask them for another estimate.

They were very punctual and very professional. They were very responsive in following up and providing an estimate and explaining questions when they met with me to do so.

Project went well. They had to redo several places where the first pass of pavers installed were poorly cut and did not mesh well. That said, they fixed all areas we were unhappy with. They ran out of material too and we have some wrong color brick pavers in place which will have to be fixed in the spring. This was done with our agreement and for now is buried under snow. We liked Rosie who quoted and led the project here. Guys in the crew were quite friendly but did best their best work when Herman their supervisor was on site and supervising. The work was done late in the season and missed the first snow by just a few days thankfully. We were pleased they took the job that late in the season. Pricing was excellent from intiial estimate to final payments. Happily took our credit card for both the 50% up front and the final payment. This was so nice. I did all the permitting myself and there was some hijinks with them not being registered with the county. They fixed this as soon as the county indicated they were not registered to work in DuPage county. Permitting was much more work than they indicated it would be. They provided several references and we checked all of them.

Rosie was very attentive to our needs and wants, as well as provided a very professional approach to what will work the best. Work was performed very promptly, and her crew left the yard looking immaculate, even raked our leaves! Received numerous calls from Rosie regarding proper care of our new landscaping due to the ever changing climate that we were experiencing. Am excited to continue landscaping with thorn apple in the spring.

She worked with us to make sure we got exactly was we wanted and helped us fit everything into our budget. The planning process was less stressful than it had been with others. Also, her crew was very punctual and polite. Knowing that landscaping is a large expense to be considered carefully, I would definitely recommend Thornapple to anyone looking for a good landscaper.

It took a few days for Kurt to give me a call to come out and look at the prospective work, but once he called he came out promptly. He sent me the estimate quickly as well. When he was here, he was thorough and explained the work that was to be done. The only problem we had was that they were the highest priced company that we called and their schedule was a little too far out for us.

Thornapple was quick to respond to our initial phone call. Amy Reynolds came to visit our house and drew up a quick plan at no charge. I was impressed with her ability to make some quick recommendations based on our general interests and existing landscape. Her knowledge of both hardscape materials and native and historically appropriate plants was very helpful as we discussed options for adding onto and modifying our overgrown and neglected city lot landscaping. Amy provided a proposal quickly, and did not pressure us to commit to more work than we were ready to do. After Amy walked us through the process for getting a permit, Thornapple took care of calling JULIE and were out to complete the job in very short order. They completed our stone/concrete paver walk in one & a half days, and were respectful and neat during the process. We are very happy with the finished product.
