I am very pleased with the work Mike and his partner performed. They arrived on time and completed the installation sooner than they originally estimated. They were very professional and cleaned up after themselves very well. I was charged the exact amount in the estimate and was not pressured with additional work suggestions or surprised with the final bill. I would definitely recommend this company for home entertainment installation, and I will be contracting their services in the future when I remodel our upstairs family room.

Mike and Mike came on a Friday afternoon, quickly assessed the situation, made excellent recommendations that I hadn't considered before, offered a quote, and performed the work. They were extremely professional, quick, efficient, and very friendly. They reached the goals I had for the project and, in fact, exceeded my expectations by offering a better solution to the problem. They didn't leave until they were certain that I was satisfied and the network was performing well. This company gets an A++. I will most certainly use them again.

Mike did very a professional job rewiring and installing a new "in cabinet" TV for my main room. Six different components in the system were checked and improved. He also programmed a universal remote. I was very happy with his work and manner. He deserves the highest reputation.

Mike came out at a time that was convenient for me even though I'm sure it wasn't convenient for him (late on a weekday evening), labeled all the wires and cleaned up after himself (both are things I know from experience other installers often don't do). He worked quickly and charged a fair price. I would definitely use him again.

Overall, Mike did a great job. He worked with me via phone and also worked with my tenant. Although he was busy and needed reminders in the begining to get a quote out, once he was on board, everything went smoothly. He proactively found solutions to minimize the need to cut into walls. Overall the estimate was 200 higher than the final bill- usually the estimate runs low. I was very pleased. I thought the cost was very reasonable considering the materials and the labor.

Arrived on time, finished job in time-frame he estimated. Had a couple issues with wiring once he got inside the walls (house issues not his issues) and was able to change on the fly by running wiring under carpet. Was clean, informative, thorough, and made it easy to understand how everything worked.

My experience was very positive. They were on time, very courteous, professional, took the time to make sure I understood how to properly work the home theater system and answered all my questions. Their rates are very reasonable, I would definitely use them again.

The experience was great. He was on time, responsive, professional and courteous. He provided a written proposal, which included line items for material and labor. He provided the speakers, receiver etc, which he recommended, but didn't require that he bought them and didn't mark them up. When you take out the cost of equipment, his labor was very reasonable.

The owner and his partner were prompt and did such a great job and the price was reasonable. They did it in a couple of hours. I would definitely use these guys again!

Went quickly and well. All the wires are hidden and the equipment is in cabinets or storage room. Works amazingly well. Just had a little trouble with the Wii, but they came back to fix it. We didn't have a good spot to put the equipment for the project; it's in the storage room which is a bit dusty so I still need to get a cabinet and then I'll have them come back to move the equipment. His estimate was fair and accurate. When he came back for the Wii and to move some of the equipment, he was very fair, and didn't want to charge me! I insisted and he said, ok $50. I was pleased. Definitely know what they're doing and if a challenge comes up he knows where to find the answer. With three different installations we had several challenges and they all got resolved to our satisfaction.

I contacted Unique Wiring Solutions and Mike promptly called me back. We scheduled a time when he could stop by and give me an estimate. Mike showed up on time and spent the time to understand what work I wanted done. He then provided an excellent estimate beat the other estimates by a fair amount of money. I contacted him back in a couple days to arrange the installation. He let me purchase some of the materials myself and he was willing to install them. I had a couple questions about the proper things to purchase and he answered my questions and even sent me links to purchase the material. He showed up promptly on the day of the installation and spent all day installing my equipment including coming up with a custom mounting bracket for my rear surround speakers. Some of the wiring needed to happen in very tight spaces and he was very patient and came up with the best solutions. I highly recommend Mike and Unique Wiring Solutions. I am having them come back in a couple months to perform another job.

Went very well from start to finish. Ideal would be if you have a plan in mind. Mike can then execute the plan and provide any options.

I thought I could install a new blu-ray player myself in place of our old DVD player, but was concerned about getting the wiring right since our TV does not have modern HDMI inputs. It sounded simple enough when a friend explained what to do, but the big projection TV is 7 years old, the receiver and speakers are over 10 years old, and we have a new Dish Network HD DVR set-up with a million wires behind them in a built-in cabinet. I decided to get professional help, so went to Angie's List. The reviews for Mike's company were outstanding, and the price he quoted me when I called him was less than half what Best Buy or the other big stores were charging. I called Mike around 2 p.m. He was on a job in a different location, but offered to come here afterwards. He estimated 4 p.m. and was right on time. At first it looked like a straightforward and easy switch, but things got complicated fast. The cable between the blu-ray and the TV wasn't quite long enough, but they did a workaround for that. When everything was installed, all seemed to work fine, but then it turned out that some TV channels weren't getting sound. Mike was able to figure out what was going on -- very technical and not at all obvious, this really took some creative detective work -- and get that going, but the age of the receiver was a big obstacle for hooking things up the way they should have been. Through all the puzzles and problems, Mike was calm, helpful and professional. His assistant was wonderful, too. When everything was installed, they even offered to hook things up differently if we weren't totally happy with the way the sound system was working, and explained in detail what we might expect with such changes. In the end we decided to leave things the way they were, but Mike did offer to stay however long it took to change everything, for no extra charge. I am so grateful that Mike had the experience and patience to deal with all the complications here. He worked miracles, and I will absolutely call him again for any future hookups or changes.

Mike did a great job. I liked that he is low pressure and had a price sheet for the routine parts of the job, so I knew he wasn't just making prices up. He provided suggestions based on what I wanted - he didn't try and push techologies that I has no interest in. Was very knowledgeable and thorough. He showed up right on time for the quote and to do the work, which took about 5-6 hours. Overall, it was a job well done and I would recommend him without reservation.

I called and Mike said he could be over today if I was available. After checking on his other clients, he called back to give me an estimated time of arrival. He was accurate to the minute. They not only installed the TV, made sure it was working, and explained the remotes to me since the other components had to share the new remote. The original estmate was for the TV only and was very competitive. Once here there was no hesitation on including the other components at a very reasonable additional cost. They put my old TV in my car to be recycled at our county recycling dropoff.

Due to a sudden emergency, I found myself having to work from home. Unfortunately, my office of our townhouse was not wired for the phone/computer and I needed to be up and running within 24 hours. I called Mike just 15 minutes before his office closed and he promised to come that evening. By 7pm he was at my home, asked lots of questions on what we wanted, what the purpose was, understood my urgency, and even asked what restrictions the Homeowner Association had. We agreed on an installation date and he promised to fit me between other jobs. Mike called on that morning and we agreed on a time that he adhered to. Both Mike and his assistant came in, slipped on booties, and started the job. Mike noticed I had a lose cable connection plate and asked us if he could change the plans a bit and use this wiring entrance instead of drilling through the wall to establish a new connection. This saved us the time and mess of drilling through the wall to the outside. This job involved wiring from a first floor room, going outside and around the townhouse to a second floor room on the opposite side. In less than an hour the job was complete. The wires are hidden behind the siding and downspouts, and the entrance and exit holes are completely and neatly cauked. Mike tested everything before he left and, knowing the urgency and importance of this job, gave us assurance he would be available on call all night if something went wrong. Mike's price for this job was well within range of what I expected. What I did not expect was such attention to detail , neatness, and caring that the job went well.

I contacted Mike on the phone after reading reviews on Angie's List. He returned my phone call. Mike came to our home to make an estimate. We scheduled the work to be done after our new furniture arrived. Mike moved the sound system equipment, drilling holes in the new cabinet to feed the wires through to the equipment. He checked the sound system. Mike cleaned up after himself. He returned the next day to install a hub and trouble shoot. The sound system is working and the new cabinet accommodates are sound system. Paul and Mike came into our home renovation late in the game, gave a prompt and detailed quote, then performed the services agreed on in a timely fashion. Paul line itemed every thing that they would do, provided a specific price and was thorough in giving me an understanding of where better, cheaper options existed. They came back within a week, adjusting their schedule, to do all the pre-wiring before drywall was up. They ran extra cat 6 and coax lines just to be sure that if there ever was a problem with one line, there would not be a need to run another line. As problems invariably cropped up during the finish installation, they addressed them with professionalism and took ownership, even running a new electrical wip when it was their oversight. Multiple times, they quoted a higher priced component and came back with a lower priced better product upon installation. There were no ugly surprises with them. The only reason that I gave them a B on price is that I didn't have any competing prices given that I was in a tight timeline to get the project going before drywall went up. The other firm that I asked for a quote was a super high end firm wanting to push Apple TV and other technologies that will be out of date in a couple of years. The other firm played games trying to get me into a position where I had no other choices and would have to pay whatever they quoted. Paul and Mike of UWS played no games and were true professionals! They even travel all over Chicagoland to do jobs. I'm in Lincoln Park and they never had an issue with coming to the city.

Mike was very prompt and came out to do an estimate the day after our phone conversation. The estimate was right on, very detailed, Mike even included the estimated budget for the cables he would have to use in addition to the cost of labor and remote. The guys worked throughout the day (the job took almost a whole day), were very neat and clean. At the completion they tested and retested the system and remote to make sure it works perfect. Mike sat down with me and explained in detail the use of the remote and everything else. Saturday after the install I've had some friends over, they are all amazed with my system and what it can do.
