+ -1 moreSteve did an absolutely beautiful job, and I couldn't be happier with it! He came to the house (which was so convenient) and his pricing was very reasonable. He was courteous, punctual, professional, and a true craftsman. My ottoman especially had so many cracks and Steve did wonders with it. I will certainly 100% hire him again for any project and I highly recommend his work.

+ 0 moreWe had two seams splitting from the back of our sofa. He came in and fixed both in a timely manner. You can’t even tell it was fixed. He was super nice and did a fantastic job. Most upholsterers wouldn’t even consider fixing it, so I’m glad I could find a leather repair person to take care of it. I will use him again if anymore seams split.

Description of Work: They took our leather sofa and completely restored it. It was faded and stained and we were sure we were going to have to replace it. It now looks brand new. + -1 moreCalled Steve at the beginning of January and also sent him an email with pictures of the damaged area. Steve sent me back an email within 24 hours. He then called me back to set up a specific date to do the repair. He arrived within the time frame that he gave me and immediately set to work. Steps were used to repair the affected area. He has been doing this kind of work for 30 years. We were very happy with the results.
Description of Work: Fixed a throw up pet stain on the cushion of our leather love seat. Also fixed an area on the back corner of the couch that was damaged when the merchant delivered the love seat.

Description of Work: My dog made a small tear in a cushion of my leather sofa, in a place that had been repaired previously. The repair technician arrived promptly and color-matched the patch very well. He was also able to explain to me (and show me) why that particular cushion was so much more prone to holes compared to other cushions (it's made with inferior leather....) Very knowledgable!

He was friendly and very professional, and answered all my questions about the procedures. He made sure I was completely satisfied with his work before he left. I am pretty particular about stuff like this, and I was totally satisfied with Steve and the entire experience. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Steve. I'm so glad I found him.

+ -1 moreSteve is so professional and went to work quickly. He took his time in making sure that the crack was repaired beautifully and that everything was done thoroughly and painstakenly. Before you throw out a piece of old leather furniture, call him. It can be re-claimed and restored to its original luster. I feel like he saved me a lot of money and it is like I have new furniture again. He is an artist!

Description of Work: Steve Honan, owner of Technique, Inc. (along with his assistant), did a fantastic job restoring our 18-year-old leather sofa and ottomans on site. Steve removed a long-standing ink spot, repaired two small tears, and virtually eliminated the large dark areas on the headrests. I swear, the sofa and ottomans look as good as they did the day we had them delivered from Marshall Field's!

+ -1 moreThe overall experience was great. It is impossible to use any product yourself to clean stains off of leather. He has the knowledge and experience to restore remove the stain and restore the item to close to its original look.
Description of Work: A stained headrest on a leather recliner was restored to like new condition in about 40 minutes. I called the owner and left a message explaining the problem. He returned my call promptly and asked more questions to determine exactly what was needed. He quoted me a price of about $175. We set up an appointment and he showed up promptly at that time. He does all his work on site so there is no need to lug in heavy furniture to a shop. He did a superb job and his phone quote was exactly what was charged. We were very satisfied with the results and he indicated that the process he uses means that area will be stain free in the future and the problem would not reoccur. + -1 moreWe were looking to improve the looks of a very comfortable leather chair and ottoman that has seen a great deal of use in our house. Steve quoted his minimum price on the phone for coming out, and though I felt it was a bit expensive, I agreed to give it a try. I'm really attached to this chair. He came at the appointed time and spent a couple hours thoroughly cleaning the pieces, and colored in the cracks, so that they look much better. I'm very pleased with the work. Steve really knows leather. He even referred me to a company to clean my leather coat.

They arrived on time and described the work that would be needed to be done to fix the leather. Price was within the range given on the phone. They were able to repair the damage and the furniture looks new.

+ -1 moreOur dark brown leather couch had been in a storage unit for two years. When we brought it out we saw the the sides were discolored, almost black. We had no idea what caused it. Steve determined that, to our surprise, the couch had been sitting in water! He cleaned the couch and applied dye to make the color uniform again. I don't quite understand how he did it, but now the couch is now back to its original color. It looks great. Since I have eagle eyes, I can faintly see where some of the damage was, but I know no one else would ever notice. The work was very expensive, but Steve definitely knows what he's doing. It helped that I got a coupon off of his website.

+ -1 moreI got the name Technique, Inc. from the man who touches up the woodwork in our house. Steve, from Technique, returned phone calls right away and showed up precisely when he said he would. I understand that normally when leather has a problem it's game over, ruined! But, Technique, Inc. did a really good job restoring the finish on both ottomans. We have used him twice and both experiences were good and reasonably priced.
Description of Work: We had two leather ottomans. One had a bad oil stain and the other had faded badly over the years. He refinished both to our satisfaction.
