The workers showed up on time. The early morning music/radio without asking first was quite annoying. I needed to request that they turn it off. I overheard the owner/contractor tell his worker to "just paint over it" referring to a crack on the wall that he agreed to repair. The crack needed to be repaired not "painted over". This was red flag to me as to the work I was about to receive. I actually said something to his worker questioning that he will repair the crack properly and not just paint over it. He assured me that he would indeed repair it. Unfortunately, that was a lie. They applied tape and plaster over the ceiling crack (cathedral ceiling crack on seam) and came back the next day to paint. Primer was never applied to crack prior to painting as stated would be done on my invoice. They painted my second story hallway - foyer - stairway and dining and living room ceilings. The dining and living room was awful. I actually originally thought it was primer and not paint because it looked so bad. They had to repaint the next day and also painted the crack repair the next day however, never applying primer first. Within a month - the cracks reappeared. it took a few days for the contractor to reply to me after notifying him of the returned cracks. The contractor came to repair the cracks - and less than 2 weeks later the cracks had returned once again and more cracks have appeared since his second repair visit - because the repairs were not done properly. The wall crack was never taped - just plaster and painted. There was no tape or primer applied to the wall crack. There is still visible plaster at the top of the wall because he did such a poor paint job and did not fully cover the plaster with paint. I once again notified the contractor for a third time - with no response. I was finally able to get a response through text and after telling him how disappointed I was with the repairs - he said he would not work with me for "talking down to him". I only stated the fact that he did a poor job and I felt taken advantage of. I am a recent widow and felt he took advantage of that believing I - as a woman - did not know the proper steps for repairing my drywall. However, I do know how the repairs should have been made. The contractor has always communicated with me through email or text. So when I needed to contact him that the repairs were not good - he informed me that the proper way would be to make a phone call. I then called him as he requested and there was no answer and he never returned my phone call. This contractor lacks professionalism. The second time he came out - we had an agreed upon day and time - however he showed up a half hour early just as I was arriving home. I later found an email from him asking if he could come early that day. For someone who stated to me that the proper way to do business is a phone call - then he should have called me to let me know he was coming early so that I was prepared. He is not capable of doing simple drywall repairs - he is not capable of offering quality painting. The cracks that are returning look worse than the original crack that needed repairing. I am trying to get my house ready to put up for sale - and this has now caused a delay in doing so. I will need to hire someone else to repair and the ceilings which will need to be repainted also after the repairs to make sure the color matches - however the funds I had set aside for the repairs for the house are depleted. This work needs to be redone and I have no faith or trust in this contractor to come back for a third time to repair. It should have simply been done correct the first time! He knew I was planning on selling my home and I believe he took not only advantage of me and my situation but also believed he could get away with a quick repair and let the new owners worry about any future cracks that have reappeared. Very untrustworthy contractor and I do not recommend him or his business. There was also paint splatters left on my new wood stairway and upstairs hallway floor. The contractor also had paint splatters on the living floor after his second repair visit. He took a filthy wet sponge to wipe the paint up on my wood flooring I was not happy that I had to clean it properly myself after he left just as I had to remove paint from my stairs and hallway. Sloppy work on his and his crews part! This contractor lacks communication skills when operating his business - he lacks knowledge of simple repairs - he lacks common courtesy as to make sure the work area is left clean - he lacks taking responsibility for his faults and unprofessional work. He lacks how to deal with making proper and professional resolutions when needed. He was paid in full yet I did not receive the work that I paid him to do.
