Closet Organizing Systems

We are extremely happy with our closets and wall unit. Our designer Tom was amazing. He made many trips to our house to go over all the details with us. He was always available via phone or email as well. Our installer Steve was fabulous as well. Tom came in to check on our project upon installation. There was something he was not happy with. Tom and Steve remedied the problem right there on the spot. Their entire staff are professional and trustworthy.

After living in our house for over 8 years with clothes spread out in 3 different places, we decided to convert an underused bedroom into a closet. My wife has an extensive work wardrobe and so bouncing between 3 locations looking for something got very tiresome and wished for a long time that she could have everything in one place for easy access. We contacted Closet Organizing Systems for an estimate on a Friday and Rich was able to come out the next day. He talked with us about what we wanted. We were looking for something functional, not fancy. He helped educate us on the way to best utilize the new space of the bedroom we'd be converting and how to optimize the space in a walk-in in the master bedroom. He also gave us tips on painting the new space. His almost 30 years of experience was very evident and appreciated. We couldn't be happier with the results. Installation went very smoothly. The installers were on time, efficient, and flexible. We had an electrician in at the same time installing a new light switch in the new space so they were able to work around each other without any problem. They did a great job of cleaning up too. My wife now has all her clothes for work in one convenient place and the master walk-in is much more organized, allowing more space to hang clothes that previously were folded up and crammed onto shelves, getting wrinkled and lost in the shuffle. I would highly recommend COS to anyone.

This was the second time I hired Closet Organizing Systems for our new home. The first time Rich designed our bedroom walk in closet and kitchen pantry, which we loved. We discussed getting a garage makeover, but Rich suggested that we live in the house for a while to be better able to determine our needs and wants. This was such a smart suggestion! After living in the house for 3 months, we had a number of ideas that Rich incorporated into his design. For instance: I wanted the trash containers accessible, even when the cars were parked in the garage, so I did not have to open the garage door in the cold weather when taking out the trash. My husband wanted a workbench that could be used from his wheelchair, so the counter height was measured appropriately. We wanted to keep a refrigerator in the garage, and keep it close to the door to the kitchen. After Rich created the design, he sent it electronically, and we discussed it with him on the phone as we went through each page. Then we studied it, and came up with changes. For instance, most of our shelving is open, but I wanted a cabinet door on one tall set of shelves where I store large packages of paper goods - kleenex, paper towels, toilet paper etc, as well as a few large pieces of cookware. Then I don't have to worry about these items getting dirty when dust flies around the garage. Rich was able to change the design and give us exactly what we wanted. Rich also designed a guest bedroom closet, giving our overnight guests both shelves and hanging space for their belongings. The installers arrived promptly, and were courteous and helpful. The installation took about 5-6 hours, and everything was cleaned up when they were finished. They did a beautiful job, and we are so happy with our new garage and guest closet.

Donna, my designer, did and excellent job designing the closets to hold and organize the items that we store in them. She always followed up with me to make the design fit my needs and that I was happy with the finished closets. John, my installer, did a beautiful job installing the closets. Everyone on was very professional and prompt. Closet Organizing Systems as company kept in touch with me and made sure I was happy with my finished closets. I would definitely recommend them to others.

They arrived right on time to do the work, The closet system was installed, shelves, drawers, short hang and long hang areas in just a few hours. Materials are nice, easy to clean, sturdy materials. The area was clean and neat when they left. I am more than happy with their product and may have them come back for other closet organizing in the future.

The process went exactly as planned. Rich Kuban came and did the initial estimate on Oct. 31, 2014. We also had another company give us an estimate which came in around $1,000 less but was not custom and would not have fit the space as efficiently. I sub-contracted the removal of the existing closet shelves and rods, as well as some plaster repair, walls and ceiling painting and floor refinishing. Rich came back after the closet space was cleaned out for more accurate measurements. Then, he came back again with another man to cut cardboard templates for super accurate dimensions. From then, it took about two weeks to build the custom pieces. The final install was on Nov. 9, 2014. We are very pleased with the result.

The design consultation and recommendation process was extremely helpful. Wood color, fixtures and design layout were all reviewed. The 3D drawings and proposal were returned within the week and scheduling for the installation occurred in 24 hours. The installer was very knowledgeable and professional. Arrived on time and everything was installed in 3-4 hours. When one of the side pieces was made incorrectly, my installer had a new piece rushed to my home within the hour and installed with no delay. What great service and follow through!

They completed the work in about two weeks and cleaned up well. They did everything just as I had wanted. Everything was fine!

Rich was very efficient. He examined our current needs at our old house and he planned closet space for our new house. He gave us lots of options and was patient as we mulled over them. The installers were on time and were done in a few hours. No issues.

Rich created 3 spaces in the entire apartment that allows me to keep items organized and not stuffed somewhere in the storage room downstairs. The quality of their products gives an elegant touch making the apartment look even bigger and nicer. Rich came out and looked at our space. He was punctual, professional and had creative ideas. He didn't push when we told him that we didn't want to spend an enormous amount. His ideas were practical and the space looks beautiful, I couldn't be more pleased. The installed was efficient and it took no time at ll. Rich was terrific, he created a design based off of our needs to maximize our space. He was respectful of my time and the nap schedules of my two young children. We received quotes from other companies and he took time to explain any pricing discrepancies and made adjustments where appropriate. Our originally scheduled installation date was three weeks out but they were able to move it forward (twice!) and complete the work before my due date. The service as outstanding and we are so pleased with the quality of our new closet. We finally feel organized!

I am very happy with my first impression. I made a call on friday afternoon and had a call back within 5 minutes of leaving a message. Rich came all the way to my house on Saturday and was there by 10am to give me an estimate. I am excited to see how well the work is done.

They were fantastic! They were excellent! I would recommend them. They were extremely clean. They fit with our schedule exactly as promised. We've also used them 15 years ago for a really extensive job but this was just a small job in a new house. Their pricing was fair.

Closet Organizing Systems is a great company! From the initial conversation, consultation, proposal to final installation--they are top notch! We live in a townhome that has limited closet and storage space so for 2 sisters, this makes it difficult to manage your wardrobe for all of the seasons we have in Chicago. Therefore, we finally decided that we needed to make use of our garage space to be able to safely store clothing and other items that are off season. We researched Angie's List and contacted COS, based on their reviews. We scheduled a consultation and met with Rich who was terrific. He gave us many options and understood what our goal was. Shortly after our meeting, he sent over proposals/drawings of his suggestions. For the most part, we didn't need to make changes (with the exception of making a few tweaks on measurements to allow for my SUV to fit without issues). Within 2-3 weeks, the installation was complete. The guys that came over to install were also excellent. They arrived even a few minutes early (which we were not quite done pulling items out of the garage--which they had no issue with--great attitude!!) The garage looks great as does the small closet that had limited options to work with. The only thing we noticed after install was that the handles on 2 side by sides were not even, so they are coming back to adjust. Overall, you cannot go wrong with them. Would definitely call them on future projects.

Designer Bob Younger: Arrived on time. Had a computer where he put in all the measurements and asked me what I was interested in and within a very short time I was able to see my closet on the computer. Later that day he e-mailed me the design so I could print it out and study it. This was extremely helpful. I receive another estimate from a different closet place and she was there over 2 hours while she drew out all the closets and dimensions and costs for each component. It was terrible. After I called Bob and told him I was interested in going with Closet Organizing Systems, he made an appointment to fine-tune the details as far as color wood, size of drawers, type of hardware, etc., and put a 50% deposit down. He gave me an installation date right that day, which was only 2-3 weeks later. I got a reminder call about date and time and who the installer would be. Justin, the installer, arrived on time. He layed out a tarp to put all his supplies and all the components of the closet on to protect the flooring. He worked quickly. He cleaned up everything. I didn't have to do anything after he was gone. I absolutely love the closets.

Great quality, really nice design and materials. Very happy with our closet system and will buy again.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was fine. They met with me and they designed it. I left him a voicemail that I couldn't meet him and he never tried to call again so it sat there for a while. Once we met months later, he came and the work turned out fine. I would recommend them. I spent additional for the deal. It was about $300 more. I might use them again.

After checking out the container store during their elfa sale, i wasnt convinced on the price. I decided to check out Closet Organizing Systems after a referral from a friend. Dan the designer was very flexible with scheduling a free in-home measurement. He had some ideas and tried to work within my budget. The process was pain free. John the installer was polite and courteous upon arrival and throughout the installation process. Both gentlemen did a great job and will definitely use them again!

I had a really great experience with Closet Organizing Systems. During my first phone call they were emailing me pictures of previous work to show me what they can do. My initial consultation was with Donna. She came to may house with lots of samples and great ideas. She spent a lot of time with me to truly understand my needs. She even left me samples of the mdf to keep on hand. Within 48 hours of our consultation I had received plans and a computer generated rendering of the space. The quote was below my budget for the project. I was able to schedule the installation within 2 1/2 weeks of our initial consultation. The installer was excellent and protected our floors and took great care in the installation. I was nervous about putting mdf in a hallway that was exposed to everyone entering my house. Donna suggested bulking it up and using a thicker board to give a more woodlike effect. The results are fantastic! I couldn't be happier. I would definitely use them for other projects and recommend them to others.

He sketched out a design and provided the cost. We would have appreciated if he took his shoes off since he tracked some snow in.

From start to finish this company was fantastic. Becky, the designer, came out to my house to measure and discuss a plan. She re-worked the design of the closet to make better use of the space and provide all the extras my husband and I needed to maximize storage. The installation team showed up on time. They were very neat and extremely efficient (not to mention super nice.) The closet turned out fantastic. The design included crown and baseboard so the finished product looks built in! I would highly reccomend this company.
