Since 1982, Brian Murphy, President of Window Concepts, has been presenting homeowners with a professional sales team coupled with expert installation. We believe in walking through every step of the process with you; from choosing the right products to suit your individual needs to providing exemplary service along the way. Our team prides itself on our attention to details, cleanliness and customer care. Today, with decades of experience under our belt, we continue to provide homeowners with the quality and technology they need to keep their homes energy efficient and looking their best.
Our home is 85 years old and was in need of extensive renovations. We chose Window Concepts for our windows, roofing, and siding, and they did an outstanding job! Garrett provided a wide range of samples and made the entire process smooth and convenient. My wife and I highly recommend this family-owned company—they truly stand out! Their customer service is also exceptional and very accessible; 10/10 experience!

Window Concepts resided our house, installed a couple new windows, and replaced our gutters. They did an AMAZING job—our 133 year old house looks brand new! They replaced lots of rotted wood, installed two new beautiful windows, and saved our collapsing porch. Brian Murphy and Brian Fabbri are straight shooters and great collaborators; they went out of their way to make sure everything was finished right and we were satisfied, keeping costs down without compromising the integrity of the project. I recommend wholeheartedly!

Had a insurance claim for $8,000.00 in hail damage to my mobile home. I contacted numerous other contractors and they all left me being disappointed & frustrated. Window Concepts completed the job professionally, thoroughly and on time. I have nothing but praise regarding my experience with them and strongly recommend them.

I would like to thank the folks at Window Concepts for helping me with my window installation. From start to finish, I felt confidence in the team at Window Concepts! Brian F helped me select the correct windows for my home. He was tireless in taking my questions and informing my decision. I needed to have 3 picture windows and 6 side double-hung windows replaced. Financially and emotionally this was a huge decision for me especially because the windows are on the front of my home. Brian helped me to select the perfect windows. Once the windows were delivered, the installation process began. Due to the covid virus, there was a delay in delivery and installation but I was kept informed about any delays. These delays were kept to a minimum for sure. I cannot say enough about the installation crew! I had friends over on the day of the installation and one of them happened to be a carpenter. He assured me that the work being performed on my home was top-notch. Due to the need for lumber replacement surrounding the windows (because we had neglected the old windows for many years), the installation took two days. On the first day we had a huge storm blow in! The storm’s arrival was earlier than expected, so the crew had begun the final removal/ installation. They kept going through the storm and they kept up the level of quality of the installation even while the storm raged around them! They left for the day while it was still raining and I never had a leak of any kind. The next day the trim and caulk was applied. The installers carefully timed these steps in order to let the lumber dry as much as possible before carefully sealing around the windows. The final result is beautiful! The caulking and finishing is impeccable and I am very happy that I went with a company that could handle the extra repair my installation required. I have every confidence that I will love my windows for many years to come!

Received a appointment conformation for 5/7/2019 for 1;00p.m. At 1:50p.m. I called them and was told that they had tried to reach me but could not ,and that the agent who was suppose to arrive had car trouble. I had been waiting on them since 11:00a.m. and my phone is in perfect working order so my question is who did they try to contact. I would never use this business nor refer them to anyone. Real business would have called me. Would not have had to call them ,had I not called I would have never been informed of the car trouble there agent had. FAILED Miserably.

Product failed to perform as promised. We were promised a reprieve from the constant airplane noise and given assurances that we would be able to sleep at night. Unfortunately, this product did not perform as promised. I do not believe the product is at fault and the installation crew was professional and competent. Salesmen Dave and Garry spent two hours in my home experiencing the noise and draft issues. Dave spent an additional hour when he returned to sign the contract. We were extremely transparent with our home issues, previous experiences and desperation for sleep. No one from Window concepts raised any doubt that they and their product would solve our problem...until it didn't. At which point I requested a portion of my purchase refunded. I allowed Brian and Bob to inspect the windows. The experience was extremely unprofessional as Brian and Bob insisted that common sense says that replacing the windows would not solve our problem. If so, someone at their company should have raised a flag that their product would not help and they should not have sold me anything. They screamed at me in my home and did so until I scream at them to get out. They even asked why my husband wasn't a part of the conversation. I have never been spoken to in such a manner and trust me, I am not powerful enough to illicit the rage that I experience from them. Maybe in family, but not strangers. Again, we were extremely transparent with them and they learned nothing new about our situation from coming to my home. Everything we stated about our home issues has evidence to back it up and photographic evidence of the original install issues was given to everyone with whom we dealt at this company. The bottom line is that Window Concepts promised a resolution that they were unable to provide. Nothing that happened in my home prior to their entry has any bearing on the current issue. Please see detailed letter below indicating the events Mr. Murphy and Mr. Domek: This letter is in response to the installation of windows at our home of 42 years and the lack of response from Mr. Domek regarding e-mail dated February 22, 2019 requesting refund of the four additional windows that I was talked into purchasing. In addition, Mr. Domek had received two e-mails with video clips of noise issues dated February 20, 2019. We did our due diligence to ensure that all parties understood the events of our home renovation. We were extremely transparent regarding our inability to financially and emotionally handle another construction debacle. Please, allow this letter to clarify my experience with your company. As I wish to be clear on the timeline and experience, to summarize: 1. Mr. Dave Smith and Mr. Garry Dakan spent two hours in my home experiencing the noise and draft issues and assured me that installing your windows would resolve all such issues. They both assured me the issues were caused by poor installation and inferior product. My greatest concern was that I have not been able to have a decent night’s sleep in five years. I expressed my desperation to remedy this despite the financial cost. 2. Dave, Garry, your carpenter, and all of the installers were shown the attached document and informed of the details of the issues. At no point did any of your staff indicate any doubt that my issues would be resolve by your company. 3. All staff, including Maria, were fully briefed on our previous window installation failure. We did our due diligence to ensure everyone understood the issues, concerns and financial and emotional stakes. Again, everyone offered assurances that your company would remedy the issues. 4. Our intent was to install one window. Due to your staff’s assurances and the cost per window benefit, we installed six. 5. There has been no attempt by anyone at your company to remedy the situation despite having been told that Window Concepts would take care of any issue – again, I was assured there would not be any issues. 6. Dave informed me no money was due until the windows were installed and we were 100% satisfied. At no point in the three to four phone calls to arrange the install did Tony state that payment would be required on the day of install. Tony would not leave without payment despite my stating what Dave had told me and I could not know if I was 100% satisfied until I spent time with the noise. I felt pressured to pay at that time and am clearly regretting that I did so. On November 16, 2018, despite having the appointment booked with only Dave, both Garry and Dave arrived early. They stated that Maria had shared with them our issues and they wished to assure me that Window Concepts was a company with high integrity. They stayed for two hours. During this time they personally experienced the noise and draft issues. They assured me in multiple wordage that proper window installation with a superior glass will resolve all of the noise issues. I made it very clear that I wanted one window due to our previous negative experience. I was clear that we could not financially nor emotionally recover if the home was left in a state that did not allow sleeping and had continued noise issues. During this visit Dave received a phone call from a satisfied customer which Dave placed on speaker as the customer said, “I can finally sleep again! Thank you!” While it seemed staged, at the time I accepted it was not. Now, I am not as certain that this was not a sales trick. While Mr. Domek insists that his employees would not make such statements, both Garry and Dave guaranteed, assured and gave the message without question that I would have no issue sleeping and I would not hear the airplanes once your product was installed. Mr. Domek did not indicate that he had ever spoken to either Garry or Dave about this conversation. While I was clear that I wanted to start with one window, they both explained the timeline, winter discount, cost per window difference, etc. I then said I would be willing to do four windows to cover my office and bedroom. They tried to talk me into the whole house as there would not be any issues and they guaranteed I would be satisfied. They talked me into six windows stating that was a full days work and would result in an additional discount. On November 30, 2018, Dave returned to my home and spent another hour experiencing the noise and draft issues. Again, he assured me that these issues would be completely resolved once your company installed your product. I, again, explained that I was already having nightmares about the window install and was extremely anxious this would be a repeat of our first experience. As many times as I expressed these fears, Dave assured me they were unfounded. I was told that the bedroom interior sound abatement window would no longer be needed after your installation. Despite this assurance, I requested that it remain in place. This is indicated on the document dated November 20, 2018. I asked about utilizing soundproofing insulation around the windows and Dave stated that would not be necessary, as your company will use both foam and standard insulation. Clearly, I was very foolish to not get Dave to put in writing his words of assurances and that payment was not due until I was satisfied. I can say I have finally learned this lesson as well as to never pay in full until satisfied. Wednesday, December 5, 2018 your carpenter Dave came to measure and inspect the job. Again, I explained in full our situation, shared the attached document with him and our desperation for sleep. Your carpenter inspected all windows, including the sound abatement window to ensure that it could be utilized over the Window Concepts Windows. Again, at no point was there any doubt expressed as to whether this would solve our problem. Again, only assurances were shared. On Tuesday, February 19, 2019 your crew arrived to install the windows. I, again, explained the issues and shared the attached document with them. I was very transparent in my desperation for sleep and need for this to remedy our situation. They were professional and did show me their work along the way. When they finished, Tony assured me that the issues would be resolved and if they weren’t, he would come back to fix any concerns. Please, let me take this moment to repeat this mantra: At NO point did ANY of your employees express ANY doubt that your product would remedy our situation. Only ASSURANCES that the issues would be resolved. Brian Murphy left me a voicemail shortly after the crew left my home. I did not return the message for a week because I wanted to ensure that my assessment was accurate. After continuing to not be able to sleep, I knew that once more I had been promised something far more than what was delivered. Brian’s response when I informed him that I still could not sleep and heard the planes, “I’m sorry this did not solve your problem.” There was no discussion of what the issue might be or how to make this right. After another week or two I called again and spoke with Maria, who assured me that whatever the problem was Window Concepts, would make it right. Finally, I secured Bob’s e-mail and sent him video clips of the continuing noise. When we finally spoke, it did not go well as I was exhausted, broke and once more in a position of trusting someone who failed to deliver on his promise. Despite all of my due diligence, I was no better off, $5000 poorer and emotionally spent. When informed of our previous window install experience (the same story all parties involved had heard) Bob informed me that it was impossible. I informed him I had documentation proving the issues and increase in noise, drafts, and cost post-install of the Pella windows. Bob insisted that this was statistically impossible. Statistics always have an outlier and I am speaking of concrete, verifiable experiences not statistics. Dave and Garry experienced these issues and agreed they existed. I was more than offended by being told this was impossible and Bob’s dismissal of my statements. Clearly, your employees personal and professional experience refutes Bob’s statement. That or they knowingly lied about their experience and agreed with me solely to make a commission. Then Bob explained that he spoke with the install crew and they stated our walls were lacking in insulation. Bob attempted to go into how sound transfers and “ambient” noise will always remain. I explained that I have been dealing with this for five years, so I am intimately familiar with sound transfer. The video clips I sent him clearly show this is more than “ambient” noise and it occurs every 45-90 seconds. I explained, again, that the issue started the day the windows, soffits and gutters were installed. Nothing was done to our walls therefore they are a mute point. As explained to your employees, we already had the soffits replaced and the attic re-reinsulated. The original contractor insulated when the noise became an issue and then after an energy evaluation showed that he did not insulate as stated, we redid the insulation. Bob then asked why we had the windows replaced if the original windows were so good. I explained that the contractor had touted the energy efficiency and the resale benefit of the new Pella windows vs. the original single paned with storms. Just as Window Concepts had convinced me your windows would be my solution. Now I have a home that is half Pella and half Window Concepts and 100% noisy. I’m not sure this home can be sold at this point nor what reason I could give for the 50/50 window ration. I never would have spent this money if any of your employees had indicated even an ounce of doubt regarding this being our salvation. I mean salvation in the true sense of the word. As I explained to your employees and Bob, I have to go to work to sleep. I always have to wear earplugs and often have to take sleeping pills. Ambient noise does not cause such issues. As my one position of over ten years recently ended due to a plant closure, I have to find new employment. I cannot do so without being able to sleep, which is why I was willing to spend the money and was ready to order windows for the rest of the house if this worked. I wish to also clarify that it is not just airplane noise that is heard. The airplanes cause the issues but I also hear the train, garbage trucks, traffic, etc.; none of which was mitigated by your windows. I also have no issue sleeping in other venues such as my father’s home, which is near a major freight rail, nor hotels when traveling. I also do not experience these issues in my neighbor’s homes. All of the original work occurred prior to the new runway opening at O’Hare. I have lived in this house for 42 years so all of these environmental noises are familiar to me. As your company failed to uphold the promises made, I am asking to be refunded the four windows I was talked into purchasing. I would be upset if I had installed the one double window in the bedroom as planned and it did not solve the issue. But, I would not be as broke nor as angry that I was pressured into spending far more money than anticipated with promises that are unfulfilled. I believe this is the ethical and honorable action as you cannot deliver what you promised and you talked me into something I initially stated I did not want. I wanted one window, and then if it worked I would purchase the rest. I am, once more, offering you the opportunity to respond to my request for reimbursement. If you fail to make any attempt to rectify this unfortunate situation by Monday, March 25, 2019, then you will be indicating that you do not intend to respond. The facts and experiences shared in this letter will be utilized in my reviews of your company. It is your prerogative to either right this unfortunate experience or continue to ignore it. As my original request of this action made on February 22, 2019 has thus far been ignored, I believe offering you a full month to decide your action is more than generous. I have also cut and pasted a copy of that February 22, 2019 e-mail that I sent to Bob indicating this request. As of today, March 11, 2019, there has been no response to said e-mail.

While the salesman seemed knowledgable about the products and delivered a good presentation, we were totally turned off by the hard sales pitch that followed. My husband needed to leave before the presentation ended and the salesman insisted that he would only continue if both of us were there (even though I told him that I was going to be the one making the decision). We were turned off by the first impression of this company.

Unable to secure appointment as I was told they would not come out to give me an estimate unless both my husband and I were present to hear what they had to say. I tried to explain 3 different ways and times that it was not possible for them to meet with both of us at the same time for an initial estimate, and she REFUSED to schedule an appointment. She told me if I changed my mind, I could call her back. I told her I would not be calling her back! Do not know how they received a positive rating on Angies List! DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!!!

Awesome! When my cedar siding was starting to rot, I knew that painting (for the 3rd time) was not going to be an option. I made the decision to invest in vinyl siding (I went with the higher end Prodigy brand) along with new soffitt and gutters since I wanted a maintenance-free exterior. I understood this would be more costly than painting, however when I added up the lifetime savings, I felt this was a good option. I can already feel the difference in the temperature of the house (staying cooler during the heat) due to the higher insulation factor of the siding. I can't say enough how happy I am at my new siding, gutters, and soffitt. From the start everyone was very professional. The job took about 1 week and every day when John and Paul left, they ensured that the site was clean and the gate shut (I have dogs). My brother is a carpenter and had helped to install my new doors and windows and he commented on the fact that the attention to detail that this company has is not found much anymore. They were willing to answer any questions that we had and were really great to work with. Even better is that there were now surprise costs so what I was quoted was what I paid. I even received a call from the owner once the work was finished to see how everything went. I know that folks worry about the initial cost (as did I), however the quality of the product and the work along with just the overall great look to the exterior of the house and energy savings is well worth the spend now because it is going to pay off in the next few years. I feel would highly recommend this company for any exterior work you may be considering.

In total we had four companies come out to scope and quote the project which included Window Concepts. From the other three companies, we had in hand within 48-72 hours itemized, detailed proposal covering what we discussed and part of their process (we did not have to ask for the detailed quote). We had Window Concepts (March 31st) where we were provided a quote ( a single number, hand written on the back of a business card) without the detail at the end of the appointment. A few days later (April 4th), I requested an itemized quote and am still waiting for it after having 1 additional phone call and 4 emails exchanges with the office and the salesperson who visited. Instead of offering to provide the itemized quote, Window Concepts wanted to keep calling to discuss without sending over the requested itemized quote. If it takes this long and multiple discussions just to receive an itemized quote, I cannot imagine what the installation process and any follow-up concerns would be addressed.

Overall went very well. Spent several hours with the salesman discussing siding jobs and how to tell a good one from a bad one. He came back a second day after I'd signed the contract to discuss non-siding options for my back basement surface. That part of the job did end up being un-negotiated because these guys' expertise really is vinyl siding and not masonry. But the vinyl siding job has been great. The originally carpenter went over the house with me and came back later with questions when we'd overlooked an issue I'd mentioned to the salesman. The company handled the building permit. The company was very responsive when I had schedule questions. Quality of the job was good. The company was responsive to followup questions. I did have to have them come back and redo some downspouts which didn't lineup because that task really needed two people but they were great about fixing it. Their culture is to please the customer.

The windows are ok. As in "eh". From a distance they look nice, close up, not so much. They are vinyl and a reddish tone that matches the surrounding wood frame. The exterior is a nice dark color as well. However, the inside tracks are all white! It cheapens the windows look. The windows - which are made by Alside have ALL come w scratches, missing parts, ripped screen, etc and the response from Window Concepts has been a big zero. We have made 3 calls to them about the issues and they have made ZERO calls to us. They are basically turning it over to the window manufacturer who has not called us once either. Not happy. Seems after they got paid, they are basically sitting back.

The only bad thing I can complain about is, when the crew showed up to work they didn't have the permits that were required by our village, the foreman spent most of the first day running to get all the paperwork together. Besides that, the crew did an awesome job on the installation and they got the job done very quickly and efficiently, even though the weather sucked most of the time. We highly recommend Window Concepts for your window and siding needs.
Description of Work: Replaced siding and windows.

They were great and absolutely wonderful. Their customer service was great and the door settled in fine. Another provider did it for us and their was a huge gap on the door. I would use them again.
Description of Work: They installed sliding doors.
