Jerry was not prompt at all with communication. Insurance company was looking for a more detailed estimate and breakdown of what was going to be done in each room to remove the mold and he refused. He didn’t want to spend the time to help me.

Jerry came out within 30 minutes of calling. Looked at the area and his crew went to work right away cleaning up the water and putting out dehumidifiers and blowers to dry out our laundry room and crowd space.

Master Service Group was extremely responsive. I called two providers based on Angie's List reviews, and Master Service Group got back to me within an hour of the call and had a team out within 4 hours. The quote, although higher than I would have wished, seemed tolerable, and when I saw how much work they actually did and how much time the workers spent, it seemed very reasonable. They were extremely careful and thorough (for example, removing baseboards so they could be reused and drilling holes below the level of the baseboard so they won't show when the baseboard is reinstalled, removing a vast number of nails in the drywall to make it easier for the next crew to replace it and cutting the drywall in neat squares). The workers were responsive to my request not to spray disinfectant on surfaces that they would have disinfected but that I felt had not really gotten wet. The workers were polite, thoughtful and responsive. They came back after a few days, used the water detector and found some patches were still moist, left in one industrial de-humidifier for another two days, then came back as they promised and removed the last equipment. They were good about calling before they came and coming when promised. One of the dehumidifiers leaked dirty water onto my carpet. I expressed concern about the resulting rusty stain (without threatening to withhold money) and the team leader volunteered (without my asking expressly) to clean the carpet for free. I had to reschedule that carpet cleaning twice, and they did not complain, and still came on schedule. Better yet, the man who cleaned the carpet today seems to have gotten out some old stains that a previous carpet cleaning did not remove. So in a way, they left the place better than before, although I still have to get the drywall repaired due to the flood (not part of the quote; they would have quoted for that work at my request). All in all, I am very pleased. Even though I would have hoped to have paid a few hundred cheaper originally, when I take into account how thorough they were, how much time they spent, how many people came, how many times they came out and how long they left their equipment, I consider the price fair. I had thought they would throw in 2 dehumidifiers for a few days, but their work went well beyond that in terms of taking out drywall, putting in holes and spraying disinfectant.

Provider refused to come and review water damaged bathroom for cleanup and repair because it is located in an apartment even though it is clearly stated in apartment by-laws (and confirmed by property manager) that all owned units are sole responsible for any repair needed to their apartment (i.e. walls damaged from water). Furthermore, I even explained that my insurance agent had already come out to audit/inspect the damage, had a claim number and a check in hand for the damage/repairs. Still refused.

Water leaked from an ice maker hose crack overnight and caused extensive damage to ceiling, dry walls, and carpets in the basement. The hardwood floor in the kitchen and dinning room cupped very seriously. We called in a local service who started drying process shortly. Four days later they claimed the subfloors were dried and suggested us to proceed with rebuilding. But the hard wood floor were still very serious warped. A remodeling contractor suggested the subfloor were still wet and the floor might need to be replaced. We contacted Master's service for a second opinion. Mario came in the evening, a few hours after we called, and showed us that the humidity in the subfloor and hard wood were still high at multiple spots. Jerry and his team then set up the drying process. They were well equipped and very skillful. Three days later, they convinced us the floors were finally dried with their measurement of humidity. In fact, the hardwood floor noticeably recovered and some light resanding would be sufficient. We then asked them to rebuild the ceiling and dry walls in the basement. During the drying and rebuilding work, Jerry and his team member Adam explained to us clearly what they planned to do. They worked hard and were always on time. We were very impressed with their knowledge, skills, professionalism, and the results of their work.

My cost really wasn't anything because of the insurance. They were one of the most professional people I have had work on my house. Everyday when they left they were literally sweeping themselves out and not leaving anything. As far as service goes they were outstanding. They are on the pricier side. But after seeing the work they did it would be well worth the extra money you paid because their service is excellent.

Jerry and his crew were all very helpful and professional. They always showed up on time and we very polite everyday. Jerry always made sure I was satisfied with the work being performed and when I did have a problem (just one) he made sure they came and fixed it right away to fix it even though it was a Saturday. Jerry was always quick about responding to texts and emails. I would definitely hire Jerry again.

Excellent service, prompt report

We've used Master Service Group twice so far. We used them for water extraction, drying and cleaning in our commercial building. Both times we've liked the crew and thought the work was very good. When they were done they asked if everything was okay and if we wanted to check anything. Jerry was fantastic to work with in booking the service and then following up to see how everything went. The cleaning crew were always on time, overall the quality of work was high. Highly recommended! A.L

I called for an estimate and received a call back within a few days. We scheduled an appointment at 5:00 pm. When the appointment day came, I had to call Jerry at 5:20 pm to ask his whereabouts. I was told he forgot and was at a job and wouldn't be to me for at least an hour. And I had to call him! When he finally showed up, I had to provide my own ladder for the inspection. He took no measurements yet was able to tell me that he had to remove my roof and it would be upwards to $20,000! I have had several other inspections and it can be done for way less than HALF that, without removing the roof! He also told me to try to get my insurance company to cover some it by not disclosing the mold issue to them. If he was telling me to scam the insurance company, what kind of scam was he pulling on me? I found my experience to be completely unprofessional and untrustworthy.

After I called the company and the informed me that I needed two tests for double what the coupon offered, I did not make an appointment.

When our finished basement began flooding with the sewer backing up in the middle of the night during the last big storm, we started calling a number of companies to get someone to our home as soon as possible. Master Service Group were the first to get back to us and the owner himself came by first thing in the morning to assess the damage and work to be done. His crew came by the same day to begin the remediation, removing the carpeting, flooring, drywall, doors, everything. After all was removed they performed a cleaning and then installed fans for drying over several days. After the drying had been completed, they returned to begin the restoration: replacing removed drywall, insulation, painting, door replacement, tiling and carpeting. The entire process from the day of the flood to the end of the project took about 1 month. Jerry and his crew were a pleasure to work with : They payed attention to detail and seemed to take pride in their work. They were punctual, friendly and knowledgeable, explaining the process of what needed to be done as well as the repair work that we could do. They also worked with us on the final cost which was very helpful. I would recommend them and would certainly call them again for any future work in our home.

I did not receive a call back as indicated so that I could arrangement an appointment for my father's home which had water damage during the recent floods.

We had purchased a Big Deal for Master Service Group to test our home for mold for $89.00. They were really really late getting here for the appointment and what we wasn't told was that they had to do 2 minimum seperate tests to get accurate results, one on the inside of the home and one on the outside of the home. This just would have been nice to know ahead of time, so we weren't prepared to spend another $89.00 for the second test but we did because we wanted thorough results. We were going to purchase one for my mother in law but after knowing this we decided we weren't going to afterall. I was pleased with how he did the testing.

I would recommend Master Service Group without reservation to anyone contemplating undertaking either mold removal or construction project. Jerry, Greg and Adam, and all the other people responsible for the great success of this building are to be congratulated and thanked for doing such a great job. Jerry came and looked at the problem in my 1500 SF basement, took some measurements, photos and moisture readings. On the next day I received a mold inspection report with all the issues pointed out and relevant recommendations. Then I asked Jerry to give me a price for mold removal and he quickly provided me with a detailed estimate. At the end of the job Jerry gave me a folder with full documentation(copies of agreements, printed mold inspection report, warranty and informational flyers). I look forward to working with them again in the future.

I found a perfect house after years of searching and it had mold in the attic. I had 2 other companies for the evaluation but they told me that roof plywood has to be removed(can't be saved). Then I spoke with Jerry who is very straight forward and honest. He came out the day I called him and after a minute I knew it is a right person to work in my house. He quickly identified the problem, cause of mold growth and explained their steps of remediation process. They used their own environment friendly products to clean mold and stains. At the end of the project, they used ozone machine to gas out the entire remediation area. I am amazed and delighted with the professionalism of Jerry's team. They are very friendly and helpful. Jerry has saved a lot of my money by removing mold and fixing the insulation and ventilation issues otherwise I'll have to replace some parts of the roof. My attic looks clean and fresh now. I'm very pleased with the service and would recommend it to others. Best contractor I have ever worked with.

It was under insurance. They came with enough people and they were quick. They appeared to have done a very good job. The cost was a little bit high even with the insurance; they were expensive. We would probably use them again.

Due to intense rain, there was water in my basement. It drained out, but there was residual water damage. I tried to clean up the mess myself, but quickly realized it was too much for me and the thick musty odor made me worry about mold. After checking Angie's List, I found Master Services and called them. They came quickly and within two days I had a written estimate. The work was done in short odor and was well done.

Called master service group. The owner came out himself and explained what had to be done. Explained about what insurance would probably cover and the best way to get this fixed asap. Drying out and cleanup started immediately. Work was beautiful! All people were on time and knew what they were doing .After all was said and done I was extemely pleased. Even some small details I forgot to mention to them before they finished .They returned and fixed promply.

The company seems very well equipped and knowledgeable about this type of flood remediation work. The company had made a presentation to my insurance agent, and the agent passed on the info when I called for help. The sewer back-up was disastrous in our western suburban area. The humidity and odor were problematic. The house was so humid that the wood front door swelled up and was sticking badly. It's an old door, but Jerry helped to adjust it, even though that's not what he was hired to do. That little extra kindness eased my mind in a tough situation.
