INSIGNIA KITCHEN & BATH DESIGN GROUP LTD

We hired Insignia in April, 2008 after their designer came to our home to give us ideas. She thought our project should run $60,000 to $75,000 to complete. After working with her for a short time, she left Insignia and we were moved to a new designer. I was never sure who measured for anything. After much ado with the design, months later (mid October), work was started with the hope that it would be finished for Thanksgiving (6 weeks). The first window was the wrong size so was reordered and (four weeks later) installed before I realized the second time it was miss-ordered. I entertained at Thanksgiving and Christmas with plywood over my window and a generally ugly unfinished kitchen. The third ordered window never made it to my house because the contractor realized it was not the right size. The fourth and final ordered window was installed mid January, 2009 along with the tiling and some of the finishing touches needed. One last time, they came out (end of February) to install grates in another window that had not been ordered with the window. On top of everything, I feel that the cabinets were of questionable quality. We were very happy with the work that was done but felt that the design, ordering, measuring, etc. was badly handled. We ended up spending $94,000 for the cabinets and floor refinishing plus $10,000 for appliances for a Schaumburg tract house that is probably worth barely $400,000.

It was a very rocky experience at the beginning because they used sub contractors who screwed up. They had to tear everything out and redo it themselves, but they made good it in the end.

VERY NICE AND ACCOMMODATING - BEAUTIFUL DESIGN - GOOD SELECTION OF PRODUCTS - PROJECT FINISHED IN TIMELY MANNER - WORKERS WERE NICE AND DID A GREAT JOB - EYE TO DETAIL AND WERE ABLE TO ADDRESS ALL CONCERNS TO MY SATISFACTION.
