It went great. Ken was punctual and helpful when he came for the estimate, and the work was timely and very professional. I would definitely use them again.

The job went very good, the contractor was on time every day and stayed the whole day; not stopping to go start or finish another job which seems to happen a lot with small companies. The man who did the work took the time to do the job right with attention to detail and clean up. The contractor was on site for four and a half days. Extremely professional.

After testing the wiring (I have a teensy amount of knowledge of electrical) and finding that there was a defective wire, at this point, I knew I needed a professional. I called about 10 AM and by 11:45 AM, Scott was at my door. He asked about the problem, and listened to every word. Being a woman, I find that a lot of tradesmen just blow off what you have to say, not Scott. He in fact, thanked me for the information I gave him. He tested the wiring and found that the "hot" wire was not carrying current. He then gave me multiple choices of how to solve my problem wiring. He thought it might have been a nail piercing the BX . He cut a small hole in the wall to find out which way the wires were running. After using his camera, he discovered the the BX went straight down and ran on the floor under the wall board. He was right, a nail had been punched right through the BX and partially severed the wire. After a few years, the BX rusted away from dampness and effected the wiring. We decided to run a completely new line to the source of electricity in the closet. Rather than open the entire wall, Scott cut one opening about 6" by 24" and another 3 about 5" x 5" and one small opening in the closet ceiling, just big enough to pull the wire. He got the wire off the floor, drilling through the studs, around the corner and into the closet and did it in no time flat. Problem solved. Scott cut all the wall board neatly so that all he had to do was replace the pieces, screw them back in place, now I can tape and patch. I shortened the story but it was a very complicated job. He removed the moldings without any breakage and by the time he left everything was neat and clean and back in order. This was the most painless, enjoyable repair experience that I've ever had, I will tell everyone I know how satisfied I am and recommend this company for any work they could do. Called Faith who asked a few questions, provided verbal estimate and scheduled work. Received confirmation calls from her and the person who performed the job a day or two before the date. Worker was on time and completed the job as scheduled. Faith followed up with a call several days later to make sure I was satisfied. I am! They did a great job, answered my questions and completed the work on time and within the budgeted amount. Excellent communication and service. I would certainly use this company again and would recommend them to anyone.

I recently had a new fridge delivered to the place where my tenant lives and somehow those delivery guys did something to prop the door that made it loosen off the top hinge. When my tenant told me about it, I called Handymen & Mrs. Helper to get it fixed. Steve came out, was super nice and fixed it in about 15 minutes. Steve did warn me that he didn't know how long the fix would last but as long as the door was not abused, it should be OK. Two days later, my tenant called frantic saying that the door was busted again and insisted that it must be fixed that same day. So, I had to call Handymen & Mrs. Helper again and even though they were already booked for the whole day, they were so nice and gracious enough to fit me in for the day. So after Steve finished his work day, he made one more stop at my tenant's place (it as already 8 P.M. by then) and fixed the door. It turns out that the screws for the hinge were so worn in that we had to just move the hinge on a new part of the door. This solution worked out great and my tenant has yet to call me back with a complaint about the door. I would definitely work with Steve and Faith (Mrs. Helper) again!!

I would definitely say this went great. They perform good quality work and definitely know what they are doing. I like how they listened to my request and did not necessarily act like they knew better than me on what I actually wanted. The price the charged was extremely reasonable considering what I really all had them do. I definitely won't hesitate to call them again if I am in need of their services.

I organized the work with Faith, and the work itself was performed by Rannet and one of his men. We added complications because the house was finishing up being renovated at the time, but Rannet was flexible with the quoting process and timing the painting around the other work. Rannet was good with matching paint colors and gave good advice for the various areas. He also perfectly realized my wife's ideas for the nursery paint scheme and had no problem (and had good suggestions) for no-VOC paint.

The experience was good overall. The lead painter Ranette paints very well and is very responsive. I would hire them again in the future to do more work. We did have one problem which is that he had a painter who was working for him who came to do a lot of the work. We had just had a hardwood floor put down and he put several dents and scratches in the floor, and was just not careful enough. He was sometimes messy in some of his painting. When we complained they made good on it, and Ranette came back and took care of things.

They did excellent work they were very detail oriented. They were friendly and easy to work with. We would deficiently hire them again.

I was very happy with the work. The next time I need something fixed around my house, I will use this company again. Steve worked hard, he was very honest, and I felt very safe with him in my house (very important for a single woman).

The drywall patching job was unbelievably incredible! The painting was just great looking. I would really recommend them in terms of the work that they did, I think they did a great job.

I contracted 4 companies from Angie's List. The company was actually the most expensive, but I had the most confidence in getting what I wanted. This was from meeting with the lead painter. Working with Mrs. Helper was easy and accommodating. I wanted certain things in the written proposal, and she was willing to do so to satisfy us. The lead painter introduced his worker who would be on site for the duration and went over the plan. The workers were diligent and hardworking. Quality of work was high.

We are satisfied with the job and think the house looks great. We felt that when painting, the guys rushed to finish at the end. They put fixtures and wall plates back before the paint had finished drying. There were also a few spots that were not painted as well as they could have been (trim on the sliding door and some tight spaces in the front hall area). There was a spot in the front hall that was painted with the wrong color and we could see where they had not painted behind the stove. However, when we notified Faith they came out right away to fix it, which was great. Overall, we are happy with the work done.

I found the company to be responsive to the bid request coming out promptly and following up to clarify any questions I had. Although their bid was not the lowest, it was reasonably close and based on my interaction with their estimator, I was more confident they knew what they were doing than the lower bidder. The workers showed up as promised and consistently worked whenever weather allowed. I was very impressed with the quality of the work and they were very careful not to drip. Overall, it was great to work with a firm that did what they promised on the timeline they committed to and did so in a high quality manner. There is no doubt that I would hire them again.

If only I had known about Handymen and Mrs. Helper before I had the entire interior of my house repainted, this job would have been entirely unnecessary. I called Faith and told her that I wanted to change the color of an interior wall from peach to tequila lime. I'd already selected the paint--I just needed the painter. Faith scheduled Rannett to come two weeks later, but when a day freed up earlier, she called to see if I'd like to push the job up a week--and I did. Rannett showed up on schedule and got right to work, taking down artwork and taping baseboards and door frames. Instead of putting on a very thick coat of paint to get the coverage in one application, Rannett did this job the right way--painting two (and where necessary three) coats, and letting them dry completely in between coats. He also checked with me early in the job to be sure I was happy with the color and the way the paint application was going. The job got done in a single day, with not a drop of paint where it didn't belong. And now the one wall in my house that was the wrong color from the very beginning is finally right!

Very pleased with all the services performed. If you want things done right the first time and want attention to detail, then use Handymen and Mrs. Helper. They are very thorough and have excellent customer service. The paint job is flawless and all the other work is perfect as well. I had a problem with the electrical work after it was completed, and the worker came back and fixed it right away. The company is honest and fair. I will use them again for future projects.

I didn't like the fact that the refused to give me a written estimate on the work until we had estimates from other companies. I felt as if they were doing this so they could low ball the competition.

They were very cooperative with the us. The lead handyman was VERY VERY GOOD, stayed late until he was done. He did some electrical work, cleaning and wiping down and fixed some doors.

They did a good job. I thought the price was a little on the high side, but they did well. They said they would give me some sort of credit since they didn't get the water line fixed the first time. I called them later to get an estimate on fixing a pole on the outside of my home and they gave me a completely outrageous estimate. I still have a credit with them. They do good work they are just expensive to use. It seemed like they were increasing the price just because I had a credit with them. I would not use them again because they are just too expensive for me.

I used them for a half day in Dec., 2007 and another half day in Feb., 2008. I felt that the repairs were explained to me in a way that I could understand. All of the work was completed as I expected without a mess.

It went very well. Their response was quick, they were neat, personable and cleaned up after themselves. We chose them because of the reviews I read on the List, they were local and Faith took the time to respond to the reviews that people wrote.

This is my first experience with Handymen and Mrs. Helper. I called while the office staff was on vacation and was referred to Scott, their handyman. He came to the house the next evening as he said and spent time meticulously trouble shooting the electrical supply to the hot tub. He also fixed a wooden gate and replaced a light fixture. He did an excellent job and gave us suggestions on future work that we would like to have done. We will definitely use Handymen and Mrs. Helper again! Thanks again to Scott for coming over at such short notice and working late into the evening.

They are very professional in terms of getting back to me quickly. They sent people out fast. They did a good job of following up. I would recommend them and use them again. I might get more bids next time. They seemed a littel bit high.
