Throughout the two days needed to complete the work they demonstrated professionalism and quality workmanship. They were knowledgeable and worked efficiently and with integrity. We recommend the company without reservation. We definitely plan to use their services again.

Steve showed up on time. He went to work. He came. He saw. He conquered. Everything was done efficiently. He explained what he was doing to me, and he did it. I have another project in mind. A bathroom to remodel. Handymen and Mrs. Helper are the ones that I will trust to do it.

We had new drywall put up and old drywall taken down. We also had the room painted and trim installed. The work was done well, except for a missed strip of paint. They came back and fixed it, but it did take four days for them to come back. The workers were very nice and professional. They cleaned up well bagging and bundling everything so I could put it out with my trash. Mrs Helper can be a handful to deal with when discussing price and scheduling.

They were very helpful in determining what the problem was.

From start to finish Handy Men and Mrs Helper did a wonderful job. Faith was quick to respond to my request for an estimate. Rob and Ivo came to my home to look over the job and a cost estimate was delivered via e-mail and also over the phone in a timely fashion. Ivo, Urmas and Tim did a wonderful job! They were professional, timely, clean and most importantly their work was exceptional. They were also great about working in a home with two small children. I highly recommend them and will use them again in my home.

"But it looks so easy when they do it on TV!" This is exactly the sort of false courage that led me to contact Rod and Faith at Handy Men & Mrs. Helper last week. When we purchased our nearly 100 year old home the storm door on the back just seemed lacking. It was new, and neat, and appeared to be efficient, but the 1" gap on the bottom, and the flexibility in the frame just didn't seem right. Not to mention, defeated the purpose of the storm door. I know enough about old homes to know that nothing was "standard size" when this home was built, and the door was probably bought off the floor at the local big box home improvement store. Not quite "round peg in square hole", but close. Armed with the courage and television delivered skill set mentioned in the first sentence of this review, I set to removing the storm door and "making necessary adjustments" to make it fit correctly. My main problem was not recognizing my shortcomings BEFORE I broke out the circular saw! Removing the door itself was easy, but adding/removing wood in order to make the door fit went horribly awry. With the storm door removed, house framing exposed in a less than perfect manner, and my wife ready to kick me out of the house as cold weather moved in. I sent a desperate email to Handy Men and Mrs. Helper. Rod called back within 30 minutes of my email. Maybe he's just a jolly guy, or maybe it was the fact that I mentioned the revocation of my circular saw license; but, he had a distinct chuckle in his voice. He was excited and enthusiastic to help me remedy my carpentry woes. He was able to schedule Hank to come out to the house in six days to complete the repair. The following Tuesday at 9am, precisely when scheduled, Hank knocked at my door. I am always a bit cautious of people who work on an hourly rate when detail and quality is concerned, as THEIR time is MY money. So, I was pleasantly surprised, when Hank made a friendly introduction, took a look at the travesty of woodwork I had created, and immediately left for materials. No dawdling, no chit-chat, just got to work. Hank was great, and seeing my interest (which had overcome my shame) was willing to explain exactly what he was doing, and why at each step of the process; all the while, his hands never stopped moving and he was always making headway on the project. Furthermore, he would not accept my suggestions on how to remedy the situation. Hank is a true customer service pro: He was professional enough to not belittle me and my flawed carpentry logic and smart enough to recognize that he certainly wasn't going to take advice or suggestions from the guy who created this whole mess. A lesser man would have told me to "go fly a kite", or buckled under and done my suggested work and blamed the "customer is always right". Once he had the door trimmed in order to repair my misdeeds, he promptly re-hung the offending storm door, and with the use of shims and additional trim was able to make it look like it had been custom designed for the opening. He went the extra mile to properly caulk all the seams to ensure weather tightness, checked that the door closed correctly, and fit in the opening squarely; which was a challenge as the hole certainly didn't start off square. A fantastic experience was gained from my initial disaster. Thanks to Hank, Rod, and Faith at Handy Men & Mrs. Helper for delivering the experience that typifies why we all joined Angie's List in the first place! SUPERB! So much so, that I called immediately and scheduled some interior painting for next Monday. Something else they are highest rated for. But, that is for next week's review. Thanks again!

These folks went above and beyond to get the work done on short notice so my mom could come home. Faith stayed in touch all through the process and I will never use anyone else again for ANYTHING that needs to be done in the house! Very, very professional, attention to detail was meticulous and the two gentlemen that did the work were not only good at their jobs but exceptionally nice people. I now trust this company to do any future work I will have done. Look no further - there is a reason these folks have all A ratings...they ARE that good!!!

Contacting this vendor and getting a quote was very easy- they were prompt and communicative throughout the process. The guys came out and finished the job in an afternoon and the work was done very well. We love the results and the price was reasonable considering the services rendered.

My wife and I decided to have tile put into our kitchen. After recieving multiple quotes from a number of companies, we decided to hire Handymen and Mrs. Helper. They gave us a good price estimate, and were always extremely responsive to any email or phone call. After setting a date for them to start the work, Rod emailed me a few days prior to make sure we were ready. He also gave us the names of the two employees that would be doing our job. The morning of the first day the workers were there right on time and started working without delay. The first day, Steve, one of the workers asked if we minded if he worked late that night to get some extra work done, we, of course didnt care. the next two days they worked late as well, and got the job done earlier than expected. Once it was done, they cleaned up, and made sure that we were happy with the work. We loved it. I would reccomend Handymen and Mrs. helper to anyone, they are extremely hard workers, polite, respectful, and are meticulious about every aspect of the job, we couldnt have asked for a better company to work for. We are going to remodel our master bath, and once we decide on a date, we will certianly hire Handymen and Mrs. Helper. Thanks so much for being a great company!!!

When I called Faith, she was attentive, courteous and was willing to do the work for me! Rein did the work on my bathroom ceiling. Fantastic! The ceiling is perfect. He was knowlegeable, efficient and clean. Very nice man as well! Hank helped me put up the mantel over my fireplace. He, also, was knowlegeable, efficient and great to talk too. It looks great! My wife was very happy to finally get her mantel finished! I am very impressed with this company. I will certainly call them first when I need work done on my house. Thanks again!!

We used this company before and were happy with the service from start to finish so we contacted them again for this job. Everything went smoothly and the repaired areas look better then they originally did. Hank used upgraded materials to prevent rot in the future. Well done and thanks.

This company is quick to respond, professional and knowledgeable. The Handyman efficiently installed our two faucets including purchasing needed parts. He also advised us on an issue we've been having with rotting wood on the outside of our bay window. He will be providing us with an estimate on that work. You can feel confident using this company.

We were actually a little disappointed because we thought their quote was a little too high. They told us that if we called them again in the fall, the price would be cheaper because they wouldn't have as much work. We didn't appreciate it because we knew at that time that they weren't giving us the best price. We did appreciate that they gave us a referral for a granite company that we ended up using. We did the work ourselves but it was a good referral. We would probably not use them again because we were turned off by the fact that they weren’t being fair with their pricing.

Handyman arrived at the scheduled time and removed the cabinet most carefully. He arranged to return on Thursday with the re-sized cabinet. Upon his return, he re-installed the cabinet. There is no sign the cabinet is other than in original condition. We are very pleased.

I emailed Faith with pictures of the townhouse that i would like painted on Tuesday night. The next morning she had an estimate of the work, and also had Virgo meet me for a more accurate estimate that day. We had a contract on Wednesday, and Virgo and Rein came out on Monday to paint. They started at 9am and by 3:30 they had patched, sanded, and had 2 coats of paint on the walls. I am extremely happy with the work that they did and recommend them to people who need painters.

I finally decided to put Trex decking in front of our screen porch. I also had a new wooden screen door that needed to be installed. I checked Angie's list, and chose Handy Men and Mrs. Helper to do the work. I called and left a message for someone to call. Faith got back to me, suggested sending pictures of the deck to quicken the job appraisal, my daughter showed me how to attach the pictures to the e-mail, sent the information, received the appraisal back, called to go ahead with the project. Todd (very talented, extremely honest, hard working man) was assigned to meet with me. He called, promptly came out, project was discussed,deposit made, I ordered the materials from Home Depot. Materials were delivered, and Todd started working. It was soon noted that we had not ordered enough Trex boards. Todd said he would pick up the boards ( when they arrived ), so that I would not have to pay another delivery charge. Todd picked up new material, and proceded with the job. We then agreed the front of the deck didn't have the finished look that I was happy with. Todd came up with a great idea of "picture framing" the ends of the deck. This allowed him to extend the front step enough to cover the front with Trex boards. The job took longer to complete than Todd planned it would. He did not charge me for the additional time. He felt it was his responsibility to have planned it out better. I was so moved by this man's honesty. This little review does not give Todd the praise he deserves. I will use this company in the future, and will look forward to working with Todd or whoever they send. It would be hard to beat this experience.

I was a little disappointed that they did not come to our house to give us a quote. I felt the project was unique and should have been viewed in person. They requested that I email photos to them, and they gave me a quote over the phone. They are very friendly, but in the end, their quote was completely out of pocket compared to the other quotes we received for the work. Their quote was over $800 plus an additional $50 for two extra guys to help. The other quotes we received were less than $400. I would call them again for a quote if I had a future project.

Faith from Handymen & Mrs. Helper was super helpful and responded right away to my phone call. She was able to give me an estimate on cost and Tim and was accomodating to me and my work schedule. She also followed up with me after the job was completed to ensure I was satisfied. Tim, the handyman, arrived on-time, very friendly and accomodating. I walked him through the "to-do" list and he got started right away. The work was completed in less time than estimated and the quality of the work was really high. He cleaned up after himself and left everything clean and tidy. I would highly recommend Handymen and Mrs. Helper to anyone and would definitely use them again for future projects!

Our experience with Handy Men and Mrs. Helper was great. Faith from Handy Men & Mrs, Helper very promptly responded to our initial inquiry. I had sent an email in the afternoon on a Tuesday inquiring about receiving an estimate for the work we needed to have done and Faith replied that very night. After providing her with some information about what we needed and providing some pictures of the area where we needed work done, Faith had an estimate ready for us the next day. Because the estimate was based on the pictures provided, rather than on an actual visit, Faith provided a range of prices for the potential cost of work. The lower end of the range was right around other estimates we had previously received while the upper end of the range was higher than other estimates we had previously received. After letting Faith know that we really wanted to have the work done as quickly as possible, however, she said she would be able to schedule something with Virgo, one of her Handy Men, for him to come out that very Friday and work Friday and Saturday (much quicker than what other contractors had quoted). Therefore, although the cost was likely to come out a bit higher than other estimates we had received, we decided to go with Handy Men and Mr. Helper. Virgo arrived on Friday promptly when Faith said he would (8:00 a.m.). From the time he arrived until the time he left, he worked diligently and professionally. In fact, he worked from 8:00 a.m to 8:00 p.m. (with a break for lunch, and some small breaks while drywall mud and/or paint dried) so as to finish the job as quickly as possible. Due to his great work and his willingness to put in a 12 hour day, he had the job finished in one day and did not even have to come out on Saturday. Plus, the results look great. I would definitely recommend Handy Men and Mrs. Helper.

I could not have hoped for better service and quality. They worked with me to come on the dates I requested. Prompt, professional and great quality. Very polite and efficient. Went above and beyond - I asked them to change a battery in something I couldn't reach. They discovered the wiring was wrong and fixed it. They clearly take pride in a job well done. Will absolutely use them again. GREAT!

This company was WONDERFUL to work with. They worked closely with us around our difficult schedule. If they needed to adjust the schedule on their end, they promptly called us. Communication was excellent. The work they did was A++. They promptly scheduled to come back for the finishing touches. The work that was done with the soffiting around the drop ceiling is positively artisitic looking. Nice lines. Good people, Good quality work. We would definately recommend them and use them again.

The painters, Rein & Virgo, were excellent and did a high quality, very professional job. They were there on time every morning and I was completely comfortable with having them work in my house. They completed the job in the timeframe they stated. I would highly recommend them and will definitely use them again for any painting needed in my home in the future.
