It went very well, even though I received bad news that the cabinet I'd thought needed repair can't be fixed. The carpenter gave me a number of suggestions that will need to be considered before moving forward and made a concerted effort to provide other services, repairing two sets of bi-fold doors and two other doors that would not close properly. He removed trim from the upper kitchen cabinets on one side of the room since all of the trim was improperly installed (glued only and the glue has dried out so the trim was simply in place with nothing to hold it) by the original contractor 8 years ago. I will think about his suggestions and if I choose to do anything I will re-contact this company first!

Terrible! We hired this company for a first time in February to fix our ceiling drywall and paint two bedrooms and our hallway. Yes, there were some touch ups but they did a good job, so we hired them for a second job to touch up from the first job, take down our closet doors and installing new ones, paint the closets and fix the damaged spots inside all three of our closets. The first day, the handyman came in and measured the closets and within 10minutes he left to purchase the doors, with no discussion on what style or type of doors. He was gone for three hours and we received a phone call from the company telling us he's waiting for the doors. At noon he returned with the doors and began work on the closets. At 3pm he called my husband up to inspect the work, nothing was complete except for the door installation. My husband accepted the work but stated I (his wife) would have to see the work too in order to approve it. He stated he would have to come back to complete the job since he was scheduled for another job today. We planned a follow up date for these projects to get completed and the guy didn't show up due to the weather. Therefore, my husband lost hours at his job waiting for the handyman to arrive and complete the job. We then rescheduled again for two days later and the handyman was there for five hours and the quality of work showed like he was in a hurry to complete it. They charged us for more hours than than the worker was there. The worker measured the doors, bought the doors and installed them. However they were crooked and fell on me the first time I opened them. Never was there a discussion about what type of doors we could have or would work with our closet, nor was there a discussion of what to do when they were the wrong size. In addition when he "fixed" the doors he damaged the sides of the closet walls, which now have to be repaired. We complained about the doors and installation to the company, so the owner came to inspect the job. That was a waste of time no customer services skills and very unprofessional. we explained to him we were new to home remodeling but there should have been some form of communication when purchasing the doors, such as if we needed to get custom doors due to the shape of the closet if he recommended it. We didn't even get a choice in the design of the doors, they were purchased by the handyman. when speaking to my husband about this he laughed at him and made rude comments abut what we thought should have happened. he stated that we should have both been there to inspect the work (however, I couldn't be there since I'm pregnant and can't be around the fumes). Then they sent us the bill and charged us for three more hours than the handyman was there. When we confronted the company over the phone about this the owner again laughed at my husband. Finally he said that they would "bite the bullet" and adjust the bill. when my husband asked about scheduling another date so they could fix what they damaged or didn't finish, the owner refused to fix it. So now we have to hire another company to fix their mistakes. Dealing with this company it's hard to tell who was the boss, was it the handymen or is it the people sitting in the office, nor am I paying for someone to not work. So much for their slogan "we are are committed to providing you with the highest quality of service availability."

Martin did a great job. Walls look good. He even taught me the basics in case I wanted to try to do it myself on a future issue (I'm going ask him to do it if it ever happens). And I was going to paint the walls myself, but he had lots of great advice about the right kind of primer for these kind of problems.

Super job! We're very please, using them again this week in a powder room update! Also had them back for some electrical work - very pleased with that, too (canned lights both on ground floor and in 2-story hallway, outside fixture install)

Our floor now looks like new. We had them before to do our bathrooms, and they had a different owner then. They were nice, but we talked to him about what we wanted done as we went along. We decided on more and more to do. He would agree to everything, but he wouldn't get back to the actual subcontractors that were doing the work. So some things got left out that we wanted done. We just found somebody else to do it afterwards. But we're very satisfied with the work.

Painter visited to get an estimate. We bought the paint prior to the estimate visit. The estimate visit only took about 5-10 minutes. I received a call back a few days later with the estimate and we worked out a work day which I think was about a week after that. On the day of the work, the painter first sanded/repaired any damage (minor) and also had to move the refrigerator and stove away from the wall. Prior to the visit, my wife also left a note on each wall for what color it needed to be. The job took most of the day. It would have been faster, but we wished to put a coat of polyurethane over a couple of the walls, so the walls had to first dry. Once completed, he cleaned up, moved the fridge back, and moved the stove to the garage since we were also shortly replacing appliances. It went very well. We have used this painter before for some bathroom work.

We have worked with this company before. They are easy to communicate with and very professional. Worker repaired ceiling and painted ceiling of dining room. We had to reschedule due to work and they were very accommodating.

Virgo was excellent - in many regards; he was very polite, did excellent work and kept us informed as to progress, and cleaned up every evening. The quality of the painting he did was very good. If we need a painter again, we would ask for him.

Everything went as expected, no surprises. The workmen were very nice, easy to work with, and wanted my feedback and decisions when it can to installing the lights in the ceiling.

Work was done on the day it was promised. Provider was courteous, professional, and pleasant to work with. Scheduling the appointment was also pleasant.

I can't remember his name now... He and his son showed up, on time, to look at the worked I needed done. The floor in my place was not put down properly and the wall where I need a door installed was not put up properly. This was discussed in detail and how there would be a gap between the flooring and the new wall. I understood these issues and concerns and let them know that I would install cabinetry to hide the floor error. My reason for the F is because there was no follow up after their site visit. I followed up a week later with a phone call and voicemail. I left all of my information including address, name and number. I made sure to repeat my number 3 times and slowly. He was aware of my frustration with other contractors not following up and said that is common. I did not expect this and am very frustrated. They are highly rated on AL, so I was not expecting this!

We are in the midst of selling our house and needed a little help asap installing a new bathroom vanity and chandelier in the entrance. I called and the office gals are wonderful - they scheduled someone asap and all was done within 48 hours! SO wonderful! Cannot say enough wonderful things about this group. Steve was professional, helpful and quick! Will be using this company again in a heartbeat. I wish I'd have found them sooner - so helpful!

From my first contact with Anne and Andy they were nothing but friendly, helpful,and professional. During the consultation, Andy offered helpful suggestions and options that kept us within our desired budget. We ended up taking a bathroom down to the studs, replacing all the the fixtures, and tiling the tub area. Heath did the majority of the work and did an absolutely fantastic job. I was a very undecided remodeler and through it all he stayed patient and kind. In fact, Health and Andy went above and beyond to complete an extra project that I added at the last minute. The entire team was always professional and I never hesitated to let them work in the house when I wasn't home. From start to finish everyone involved with the project was a pleasure to work with and the bathroom turned out even better than we had hoped. We will not hesitate to call Handy Men & Mrs. Helper for our next project!

The whole process went smoothly. Of course there are always little hiccups and unexpected surprises, but that's when the real character of the business shows through. Heath is a magician with tile and a stickler for detail and was never satisfied until everything was done right. Andy and Heath were always flexible when little changes were requested and always offered good advice when asked. I was very comfortable having Heath around, even when I wasn't at home. I like to wait several months after a major project like this is done before I write a review so that I can make sure that the finished product holds up after use, and our bathroom is doing great.

The floor was done by another person, however, they installed the lights, appliances and organized counter tops.The quality of the work was also good.

I ripped up drywall to install a new ceiling fan/light. I put up new drywall in it's place and realized I'm not as good as i think I am, so I called in an expert to mud/tape the drywall and hopefully cover up my mistakes. I called on a Tuesday and they just so happen to have a cancellation so they were able to send a guy out in just two days. The best part was the lady on the phone told me the rates ahead of time so I didn't have to be worry about being taken advantage of, and she sent me a copy of the contract within minutes. Urmas was the the tech that was sent out. He listened to me explain what I was looking for him to do. He got right to work, did a great job and even cleaned up. I would use them again for sure.

The quality was good and they made sure they were available.

We've remodeled a few bathrooms over the years and this effort went extremely well. There are always delays and glitches that occur in any project and these were handled and more importantly communicated quickly and simply by Andy. Their price was on par with two other quotes that we got (right in the middle to be more specific). Work involved was straightforward in that it was a gut and redo of an existing bathroom with no movement of walls or rearrangement of facilities. Remodeling is never a pleasure, but this came pretty close.

Urmas did a wonderful job, and the room looked great! Scheduling was easy and everything had been cleaned when he was finished. Our original tile we had saved needed modifying that a local tile company said couldn't be done but he was able to do it and it looked perfect. We felt confident leaving him to do the job when we had to leave the house for the day unexpectedly on the second day.

We purchased 3/8" finished oak flooring from Floor & Decor. We needed a few estimates since we were on an extremely limited budget. Anne was fantastic and very very patient with me in trying to help us work within our budget. They weren't the cheapest but I also wanted someone I could trust and who knew what had to be done with such tight funds. Brian appeared to know exactly what to do without trying to pad the deal. He also saved us money by telling us the underlayment we purchased wasn't necessary. Wayne did the bulk of the work. He was friendly, efficient, a true craftsman and did a beautiful job. Brian came back after the second day to install the thresholds. However, since we didn't have the baseboards installed yet, he said he could return and install them at a later date free of charge. Our kitchen floor looks beautiful. We love it so much, that despite the cost, we decided to forgo laying cheap carpet in the bedroom. Hopefully, we will have them install the same flooring in the bedroom.

They were very helpful and very nice on the phone. They seemed like pretty nice people to do business with.

I can't adequately express the impressive job Brad did in my bathroom. He was meticulous, punctual, and responsive to my questions and concerns. His work was extraordinarily precise, and when things came up that were not anticipated, Brad's suggestions were extremely helpful. Anne was terrific to work with, coordinated the project well, and was responsive to my questions without delay. I will not hesitate to use their services again on future projects.

It went very well, work performed was done in a professional and quality manner, and within the time slot agreed upon. Urmas came prior to view the work I wanted, and then the company provided me with an estimate. Cost was as expected and work done all in one day!

Very satisfied with job results and will likely be using them for another project that I have asked them to quote back through Angie's List. I have two comments tho: One, to keep garage warm they used a kerosene heater. The heater produced extensive fumes that backed up into the house that was still evident even one day later and garage several days later still smells like kerosene . I would suggest they not use that appliance in the future to produce heat. Second, the "mud" used to repair the center section dripped on the exterior of the garage door and has hardened and I would appreciate them returning to remove this. It is minor and it appears to flake off if you apply pressure but I don't know the best way to remove it without damaging the surface of the door so I would ask them to return and look at this.

Anne was easy to get ahold of and understood the project well. There was some billing confusion at the end but nothing bad. They're a great resource for when you're not entirely sure who you need to get the job done.
