Description of Work: They wanted to charge for an estimate and their other option was to have us send them all the bids we had and they would provide a price for the work. These folks are something else. The kitchen and floor remodel had a total price tag of ~50,000.00 when finished. We found others to do this work that showed professionalism and ethics.

Description of Work: Installed deadbolt, repaired & adjusted screen doors, installed new handle, installed door sweeps, installed weatherstripping to exterior door. 3 hours plus materials and travel charge. Neat and clean, Brad was very pleasant to work with.

Description of Work: They came and looked at what I wanted done, had to call them to find out if they were going to quote, was holding up my decision on their quote. They said they would have a quote to me soon, never heard from them again.

Description of Work: Handmen & Mrs. Helper helped update our kitchen. They installed quartz countertops, new sink, and new appliances. Brad installed a subway tile backsplash to the kitchen, desk, and butler pantry. I am thrilled with the outcome, our kitchen looks stunning! Andy and Brad were very pleasant and easy to work with. They really cared about my happiness and how things were progressing and the finished product. I will be calling Handy Men & Mrs. Helper again to help with a bathroom project next!

Description of Work: Painted the outside of our home. Work was well done. They provide excellent service by skilled professionals. This was our third time using Handy Men & Mrs Helper. Highly recommend them!

Description of Work: Handy Men and Mrs. Helper did a great job all the way around including the Big Deal of 4 hours of dry wall repair for $260, easy scheduling and rescheduling as I had to change plans twice, and a great job with the work of repairing access holes in the wall and ceiling needed for wiring access to install a cieling fan in a room with a cathedral ceiling and paint touch up. You can't see that the holes were there. I higly recommend them and will use them again for any handyman work that I need.

Description of Work: This was our third experience using Handy Men & Mrs Helper. This time we requested plumbing assistance - specifically replacement of spigots on the outside of our house. Work was done quickly and efficiently. They are very professional, return calls promptly, and are just nice people to deal with.

Description of Work: Handy Men & Mrs. Helper are absolutely wonderful. We needed the entire place - including the trim painted and several other small projects (swap out brass door knobs for nickel ones, hang some mirrors, fix some handles on some cabinets, etc.). Faith selected the best suited member of her team - EJ who is nothing short of amazing - sent him out to quote, and then once we agreed on a price - which both my husband and I thought was more than fair - EJ arrived the day the project was supposed to start at the exact time he was scheduled to. The project took about 2 weeks - EJ and Faith ended up adding 2 additional men to the crew to help finish up the work (Kevin & Bill - great guys, too). EJ was a great lead contractor - very closely monitoring the quality of the other team members work which instilled even more confidence. The work was very high quality, and equally important to me - I felt completely comfortable having the entire crew in the house while we were gone. EJ, Kevin, and Bill were hard workers and great people - and you can't ask for more than that. Thank you, Faith, EJ, Kevin & Bill - the house looks fabulous!

Description of Work: Removed old laminate and ceramic tile in first floor, then installed new laminate flooring. They were on time, and were completed in the time specified. Were also very clean and professional.

Description of Work: A plumber removed tile in my shower in order to replace the faucet, shower head and handles. I was left with the need to repair the shower walls. I called and talked to Faith. She and her husband own the business. It was around 5 pm on Friday but Faith answered immediately. They are located in Barrington and I am in Naperville so they weren't sure if they would be able to help me. Faith called her husband, Rod, to the phone to help me. They then called their "tile guy" and he wasn't able to come to Naperville. They then called Chris Gunderson, one of their contractors. Chris called me and asked details about my situation and asked that I send pictures. Chris wasn't available but called a man that he'd worked with. Chris said he was the best he'd seen. I then got a call from Chris' guy. The next day Chris called me to make sure his guy had called. He had called but wasn't available in my time frame (immediately). Chris then gave me technical advice on tiling and installing surrounds the proper way. He told me what to ask and what to require in writing. These wonderful people spent over an hour of their time helping me after they knew they wouldn't be providing services. I'd recommend these people to anyone!
