The toilet in the master bedroom was leaking from what we thought was the wax ring underneath but Stan determined that it was faulty hardware on the water supply assembly. Since our toilet is an odd size, he went to three different stores to find the correct replacement parts. Stan solved the problem and cleaned everything up. A great job as always.

I had a toilet that was running all the time. They came out and fixed the running problem and also a problem with the handle that I wasn't even aware of at the time. He was very straight-forward, professional, and was done so quickly! I would definitely use them again!

Very professional and honest! The kitchen sink was backed up and the disposal was not working properly. He cleaned the pipes and found that the pipes weren't routed properly, and he trimmed and refitted them. He also told us, since our house is relatively new, that the disposal had a two-year warranty. Also, he had given me a quote the night before and when he finished told me it wasn't as much as he quoted and so I was very pleased with his honesty and integrity.

Just like the last time we called Stan for a project, this went very smoothly. We called Stan on Labor day, he called back that evening and then promptly on Tuesday morning. He was able to come out Tuesday afternoon- he was prompt, friendly, and explained everything clearly. He was again up front about the estimate, did not pressure us, and completed the job quickly and even made suggestions to avoid this problem in the future. We like Stan because we have found him very pleasant to work with and willing to answer a lot of questions. While he was here, I asked for quotes for future plumbing projects in our kitchen and he took the time to explain those to me, knowing we weren't ready to complete those just yet. After a few disheartening experiences with other plumbers in the last few years, it is really nice to know that we have one we feel comfortable calling in a crisis!

Mr. Harlan answered the phone when I called and came over to my house in about 40 min. He explained everything and was super nice. I had a very good experience and would call him again for any plumbiing work.

Stan came to our house in May to do some repair on our toilets so they would flush more easily. I called him again this week to have him take a look at a water leak in my laundry room and see if he could unglog our kitchen/bathroom drains. He is punctual, professional, knolwedgeable and extremely pleasant to work with - In each case, he did an outstanding job! Everything has been fixed and is working well.

Stan was great. He responded quickly to my call and agreed to come on the day that I was off work. He was on time and very friendly and professional. He was quick at diagnosing the problem and gave me my options including repair it immediately. This was my first time using Angie's List and will call Stan for my future plumbing problems.

This is the 3rd or 4th time I've used Stan. This time I had him install a kitchen fixture that was in a tricky spot that I didn't feel comfortable trying to attempt myself. Also one of the outdoor spigots for the garden hose wasn't working properly. Stan handled both. Then 2 days later, my sump pump started acting up on a Saturday. Stan and I played phone tag over the weekend but he was able to come out on the following Tuesday. It turned out that the check valve had failed so only about half the water was actually being removed from the sump pit so the pump just kept running and running.... Stan replaced the check valve and now the system works perfectly. Stan's very good about returning calls and working to schedule the job at my convenience. He's the best...he even likes my dogs.

Stan was on-time, prepared and definitely knew what he was doing.

Went very well. Added a "jog" in the pipe since the original installation didn't have enough slope to drain well (according to Stan). I like the idea that he went out of his way to make it work well.

Stan arrived early and was incredibly polite and professional. He was able to resolve all of my issues within a 3 and a half hour window, which included time to drive to and from the parts store to get what he needed. He provided me with explanations of how and what he was doing as well as tips for completing the remodeling of my other bathroom. He cleaned everything up so that I couldn't even tell he had been here. He also left a small tube of caulk for the shower handles, as his hands were pretty dirty from all of he work that he had done and didn't want to stain the caulk while doing it himself. Overall I had a great experience with Stan and will absolutely be calling him in the future for all of my plumbing needs.

Called in the morning, and Stan was at the house within two hours. Replaced the sump pump with a new unit, and added a couple of weep holes to the existing pipes to get them working properly. Very clean, very courteous. We will use Hanlan & Co. Plumbing for all of our future plumbing needs.

Stan and his son are the best. We've had them to the house for about 5 separate projects, including (over the last year) replacing our 3 older toilets with new water saver toilets. We also had them come in and replace our ejector / sump pump as well. They are the most courteous, respectful, trustworthy contractors we have ever met, and they will be the only plumbers we ever use in the future!

Stan and his son did a great job. We called and left a message (in the morning). Stan returned the call within 20 minutes. We discussed the problem and he gave us an estimate. We scheduled an appointment for that afternoon. Stan called us later in the morning and said they would be running a little because their earlier appointment was longer than planned. It was nice that Stan gave a status update on our appointment. When they arrived, they put down a drop cloth in our entryway before entering our home and took of their shoes. They also put down a drop cloth on carpet outside the bathroom with leaks. They fixed the problem and show how leaks might have happened. Stan spent time explaining the problems with older faucets, shutoff value and toilets. He made several good recommendations on how to address these types of problems. Also, we asked Stan to fix a squeaky kitchen faucet. The kitchen faucet works like new. We also discuss replacing our 12+ year water heater. Talking Stan we felt he was being very honest and understood our needs. We will use him in the future. The final cost of work was within the estimate he gave use, even with the extra work.

After finding Stan's company on the list I called and left a message late Wednesday afternoon. Within two hours I received a return call. They offered me a morning appointment the next day. They arrived on time. Upon entering they put down a clean dropcloth over our entrance area rugs and removed their shoes. I was introduced to Stan and his son Mark. I described the issues as we walked to the master bath. Stan inspected the 18 year old toilet and described the work he would perform, giving me a few options and cost. They identified the issue and corrected it. They did an overall inspection of the fixture and offered suggestions to keep it working correctly. The toilet in the powder room was also inspected and cleared. Everything was handled in a workman like manner and with my full understanding of options and cost. I will not hesitate to use Halan again should the need arise.

Stan was very prompt when responding to my inital email with his quote. We were able to schedule the installations around my availability on a Saturday as I travel during the week. He and his son were polite, thorough, prompt and professional with the service they provided. He provided me with a discount and 90 day warranty. I would use Stan again and recommend him.

Stan and Matt first replaced a faucet on a pedestal sink. These are usually trickier than other types of sinks. In addition, the sink had not been installed properly to begin with, resting solely on the pedestal and lacking the typical brackets that attach the sink to the wall. Instead, the sink bowl was glued to the wall. (I had no idea that this was the case.) Stan recommended that, instead of dismantling the whole thing as required to install the new drain stop (and risk damage to the wall if it detached), it would be simpler and less risky to leave the original drain stopper in the sink. He showed me that the replacement drain stopper was of cheaper quality than the existing one. So the decision wasn't hard. There is a hairline fracture in the bowl of an upstairs vanity top. Stan and Matt explained that, if they were to install the new drain stopper by screwing it down tightly into the sink, the fracture could become larger. They instead used glue and a sealant to firmly install the drain without risk of leakage. Because two of the faucets did not sit squarely on the sink surface, Stan explained that he screwed the faucet on as tightly as possible and ensured there was no leaking. In addition, Stan and his apprentice rodded a couple of drains. They also replaced a P-trap that had become clogged with debris. One drain was a little bit of a mystery: Our clothes washer smells bad from time to time, almost with a sewer-like smell. Stan cautioned that his suggestion might or might not solve the problem. He cleaned out the drain and made some other suggestions that could help. Before Stan and Matt left the house, I thoroughly checked the faucets and drains. All functioned properly without problem or leaking. Stan and Matt cleaned up all areas thoroughly, leaving no trace of their visit other than the newly installed faucets. This project went without a hitch as far as I'm concerned. Stan explained every unusual situation thoroughly and how he approached it in understandable terms. Stan is good about being upfront about options and the pros and cons of different approaches. I appreciate this very much about him. The two gentlemen were very clear about explaining everything they did and their reasoning. I have found this to be the case with every job Stan has done.

I had a 20 year old Kohler low boy toilet that constantly ran. In the 3 years I lived here, I had 3 different plumbers out for various problems, and the first two told me it would be cheaper to replace the whole toilet than to order the special parts needed from Kohler -- not to mention griping about how working on low boys was generally a pain. However, Mr. Halan came up with his own work-around, saving me lots of money for the fix, not to mention on my water bill! Overall, he seems very detail-oriented and is very thorough in explaining your plumbing problems, along with costs. I finally found a plumber I can trust!

Stan returned my call promptly and was courteous and professional. We set up an appointment and he came on time with his son. Both were perfectly kind and polite. The ad on AngiesList says "No Travel Charges" but I was told there was a travel charge of $145. After taking the time to thoroughly investigate the leak, Stan explained there was no problem with the plumbing and the leak was elsewhere. Unfortunately they could not help with the problem but at least I know the cause. Stan was extremely kind and lowered the fee to $85 which I believe is a fair and honest price for their travel, time and effort. I am satisfied with their service and will consider Hanlan plumbing again as long as the travel charge is not $145.

They called me back promptly. Stan and Matt were on time, for the service call. They completed the work efficiently and dealt well with my pets.
