Stan arrived right on time. He was personable and friendly. He checked out the situation, let me know the best way to take care of the problem and resolved the problem. He was conscientious about not leaving a mess or tracking mess from the snake through the house.

The job was tough. That ancient glue was tenacious, but he used every delicate approach to getting the sink off the pedestal without having to move the pedestal. I watced him struggle and finesse the sink off. We should have had drum rolls because that was the most time consuming aspect of the job. Seemed from then on he sailed through routing with no problem, though that can be tricky. He removed the old pop top drain stopper and replaced it with a quality one he had recommended I purchase. He replaced some of the small hot and cold pipes beneath with modern fixtures and that was that. He worked steadily for many hours and when he finished, the work was perfect. It is truly wonderful to use the like new basin once more, rather than always having to use the one in the further bathroom. Stan had laid tarp from the front door to the bath, so before he left he simply cleaned up some mess that had to be created because of the job, and rolled up the tarp and left everything better than when he arrived. I am grateful for the work well done!

Mr. Halan was a godsend! He came out the same day and walked my wife through exactly what was wrong. He had a pump with him and had everything replaced quickly. He was very nice and we would recommend him in a heartbeat!

We called late on a Sunday night and Stan was able to come out on Monday. He arrived right on time and set up a bunch of dropcloths to protect the floor. It took two or three times to fix the problem, and he was so good-natured about how stubborn the clog was and being there longer than expected. He also snaked my upstairs bathroom drain while he was there. I have two little kids who were underfoot a lot because they wanted to see what he was doing, and he was very friendly with them and patient about working around them and explaining what he was doing. If all contractors were like Stan, the world would be a better place!

My 8 year old was in his bathroom brushing his teeth when he yelled that the water wouldn't shut off. When I got upstairs there was water in the vanity and all over the floor. I shut off the valves for the sink but didn't know what else to do to "fix" the leaking faucets. I looked up local plumbers on Angies list and Halan Plumbing came up as a A rated service provider and had all glowing reviews. I called and left a message the next morning and he called right back. He gave me his first opening. Was very prompt and completed the work after explaining exactly what he needed to do. The service was great!

Stan was professional, punctual, used quality parts and did quality work from start to finish ! I would highly recommend him to anyone needing fast professional work done at a reasonable price. He even came back at a later date when I had some more concerns, and he didn't charge me for the trip.

Stan gave me a quote to replac the shower mixing valve. He was on time, professional and did an excellant job of repair and clean up.

He was pleasant, quick and on time. Fixed my problem and then made an adjustment to fix an annoying problem in my equipment in a few minutes as a courtesy. If he had told me I needed to replacement rather than an adjustment I wouldn't have known any better but he did not take advantage of the situation. I will use this company again.

He was very professional. The problem lies in the design of the washing machine. He did what he could to solve the problem.

He is a journeyman plumber and has always taken great care of me. He is very punctual; he has always shown up on time, or even a hair early. He returns calls, even when on vacation. He is very clean; cleans up well after completing the job! I can tell he loves what he is doing, and I think this is what makes him as good as he is.

Mr. Halan arrived exactly on time and set to work immediately. He had previously given us information on a back-up sump system which would have been several hundred dollars more, but he did some research and found us an excellent system which we decided to go with. He removed our old sump pump and replaced it with a brand new one. He also put the back-up pump into the same area, then piped the two pump together to a single discharge. He attached a shelf to the concrete wall to hold the back-up control box and placed a block on the floor to raise up the back-up battery. When he was finished, he took us down to show us how it all worked and gave us a demonstration of how to test the back-up, turn off the alarm and recognize the various lights and their meanings. He had estimated 2 1/2 - 3 hours to install, and it was exactly 2 1/2 hours from start to finish. I would recommend Mr. Halan to anyone who wants a personable, honest, punctual, and skilled plumber. We couldn't be happier with his work.

I found 2-3 inches of water in my basement at 6 am and knew the sump pump had failed. I called Stan and he was at my house within 60 minutes. He was professional and I could not have asked for a better experience. The sump pump was installed and running within an hour.

When I first called Stan Halan about the issue, he metioned some options on what the issue could be causing the water leak around our tub. He was able to come out the next day to look at and fix the problem. It ended up being an easy fix, meaning we didn't have to knock out walls to get to any leaky pipes. It ended up being a leaky connection on the shower head. Great Job!!! Very reasonable cost. Definately would use him again.

Before he made the service call, I emailed Stan a picture of the plumbing involved, which helped him to assess the problem. He always responded promptly to my emails (and the original phone call) in setting up the job. The job went great. Stan Halan was prompt, really nice, and did a great, quality job. He laid down a tarp just to get him from the garage to the basement (which is a distance of like 2 feet). As part of soldering the joints, he wipes them down, so they have a quality appearance. To me this is a sign of a professional. The job was completed quickly, and he cleaned up the work area nicely. It was a very pleasant experience all around.

I joined Angie's list specifically to find a plumber to help with the problem. I chose Halan Plumbing due to the stellar reviews on this site and I am happy to add another positive review. Mr. Halan was extremely polite, professional and punctual from our first phone conversation until our transaction was completed. I felt comfortable with his expertise and especially his honesty. I highly recommend anyone with plumbing problems use him. In my opinion, finding Halan Plumbing made joining this site worthwhile.

Mr. Halan arrived promptly at 9 am. I showed him the problem drains and he set to work immediately, putting down a cloth to protect the bathroom floor. He had the drains cleaned out in a very short time, even power rodding the sink drain to assure that it would drain well. We then showed him the sump pump and explained the problem with the outside hose. When he went out to examine it, he proceeded to move the crooked line and keep the water flowing into the hose rather than spilling out directly into the foundation. This he didn't even charge us for. He explained how a new sump with backup would be installed and left literature and price lists with us. He went above and beyond, and was very personable and professional. We plan to call on him again.

After not being able to find a working shutoff valve in my utility closet during a water line burst in my kitchen, I had Stan Halan look at that situation in addition to the kitchen problem. On first visit he couldn't repair the kitchen problem because it was part of the faucet assembly and I need to buy a new faucet, however, he spent a lot of time assessing the spaghetti of pipes and valves that were gerryrigged over the years. He explained everything and answered all my questions. He's clearly expert at what he does. I needed to reschedule appointments for a number of reasons but Stan was accommodating with that, kept in touch, and finally was out to do the work yesterday. Just like the experience I had with his work in the past, he did a superb job of replacing all the piping and valves controlling the water main, water heater, water softener, furnace humidifier, and water supply into my house. The kitchen faucet looks great and if it ever fails, I have a new valve under the sink as well as the proper shutoff to my whole condo unit. Also, Stan is very polite, neat, and pleasant.

Stan Halan was very responsive to my request for an estimate. He actually came on site to look at the existing system free of charge. His quote was very competitive with other quotes received over the phone (other firms wouldn't come out without charging a service call). I really liked the personal service touch. Mr. Halan's work was outstanding and he explained everything he was doing before work began and walked me through the operation of the pumps and backup system after the work was complete. He even fixed a few items (corrected the setup of drain covers) free of charge. Everything was top notch and he very neat and clean during the entire installation process. I will definitely being using Halan & Co. again for plumbing needs and would recommend to friends & neighbors. He provides the personal service you don't always get from the big companies.

A pipe corroded under my kitchen sink and it was leaking badly. I called Mr. Halan. Even though he lived 10 1/2 miles away from me he was willing to come out and take a look at it. I had a nice conversation and explained the problems to him over the phone. I told him that it was not an emergency, but he came out promptly the next day. He was here when he said he would be here. He was a fun person to talk to. I was just talking to him all the time he was working under my sink. It was a real problem, and I had gone under it myself. He salvaged what he could. My house was built in 1968. He did a really nice job with the problem. He finished it in about an hour and a half.

Stan is the guy who owns the company. He is the only guy and that?s who you get when you call. You can deal with him on a one-on-one basis. So it?s not like a crew that comes out that you are not sure about. I like the one-on-one way and the fact that he runs his own business. He is the guy that you are going to see when you call and make an appointment. He was very helpful in addressing several issues that we had. I would use his services in the future too.
