I would not hire this contractor again. This contractor gave us a bid based on plans provided by us. The plans called for 6 piers with footings to be placed below the frost line, and a foundation wall with footings below the frost line. The contractor completed the walls per the plan, but did not dig the piers per the plan. My husband and I spent about 8 hours arguing our point with the building inspector and BGR, before he finally agreed to remove the footings that he poured just about 23" below grade, and replace them with piers poured per the plans. Then when it came time to pour the slab, the contractor did not perform that task per the plans either. The end result is that although the completed project is adequate to carry the weight of the structure we are building, it is not far enough above the finished grade, and we are regrading our yard to be able to have the wood parts of our structure 6" above the finished grade. If BGR had poured the slab per the plans, it would be sitting 5" higher that it is, and we would not have to regrade our yard. At this point we are sick of dealing with this contractor and we paid them to get rid of them.
