Mr. Murphy and his employee clearly had much experience at their work, and did it efficiently. They were prompt and courteous, and treated both their equipment and my property with care. Mr. Murphy was happy to discuss options when I had questions. When they got to my property, Mr. Murphy saw that there was more work to be done. Then we had discussed; suggested that we alter our contract to include the additional work, and charged me fairly for that extra work. I was grateful for his suggestion that the extra work be done, and grateful for his being prepared to do it.

The lowest price may not always be the best choice. Murphy Excavation went above and beyond what they were hired to do and ate the extra cost. I'm always concerned about hidden factors in a project, unexpected things that has to be fixed in order for the job to be completed successfully, and many companies will nickel and dime you for the unexpected things; not only did the purchase items that was necessary for the unforeseen but they disconnected and cleaned out a pipe that had twisted in the ground and cause water to run the wrong way...into my basement. I believe had it been anyone else they would not have addressed the problem since it wasn't part of the job just part of the problem. I'm truly thankful that they went above and beyondð
