I thought the motor was out completely. I'm clearly not a very good repairman. When he arrived, he was very polite and professional. I mentioned that one of our children was napping and he spoke in a hushed voice and was sure to walk quietly through the house to the bathroom where the tub was located. He very quickly assessed that the GFCI circuit had simply been triggered, reset it and tested everything. That's all it was. I felt like quite the fool. He not only did not make me feel foolish, he apologized for not having run me through some diagnostics over the phone when I had first called (I wasn't at home when we spoke on the phone, so that wouldn't have mattered anyway). Further, he eliminated his standard $75 minimum fee and just charged me $25 to cover gas, etc. We spent the limited time he was at the house discussing his experience and his views on various brands of whirlpool tubs. He's clearly seen and done a lot in this niche category that isn't quite electrician and not quite plumber. (I found it challenging to find the right category on Angie's List, for instance). I would recommend this firm and use them anytime I needed help with a jacuzzi / whirlpool bath tub.
