On Monday, August 30th nobody showed up at my home. After several phone calls, Joanie Bellas (office mngr) called to tell me that Mark was having car trouble and would not be able to make it. I expressed my disappointment as I had taken the day off from work to be present. Mark called me back to apologize and said he would send a painter over to my home on Tuesday, August 31st to complete the fence. He also stated that he would come over on Wednesday, September 1st to paint the interior of my home and would do what it takes to get the job completed before the end of the week. Nobody ever showed up on Tuesday, August 31st to stain my fence. I called the office to inquire why, and was told that they were never informed to show up. Nobody ever showed up to my home on Wednesday, September 1st as promised. I called several times to the office, but received no answer and nobody returned my phone calls. At 7:30pm on Wednesday, September 1st, Mark Bellas finally called back to apologize stating personal problems. He told me that they would be out on Friday, September 3rd to work on the fence. On September 3rd, the weather did not allow for the fence to be worked on. He them promised to come out on Tuesday, September 7th. I called on September 3rd and confirmed they were coming. When I arrived at home I saw that the fence was only 1/3 painted. The color was not the stain I chose. It was a solid stain that can't be removed rather than the semi-transparent stain I chose. Debris was not removed prior to staining, and the paint was not rolled into the fence after being sprayed as promised. This was evident by the drips and loose webs on the fence. I immediately called the Super Painter office to voice my concerns fub only left messages. Finally the office manager returned my called around 6:15pm. She asked me about the problems and I sent her pictures via email. On Thursday, September 9th the office manager told me that they recognized there was a problem and Mark Bellas would come to my home on Saturday, September 11th to work toward a resolution. The office manager told me she would call to confirm a time. I called the Super Painter on Friday, September 10th at 9am, 12pm, 2:30pm, 3:30pm and 5:30pm but was only able to leave messages for them to call me back. I was very angry by the last call and expressed concern that if I did not receive a return call that I would contact the Better Business Bureau and file a complaint. Nobody from the Super Painter ever showed up or called on Saturday, September 11th. I made phone calls on Monday, September 13th and Tuesday, September 14th requesting that the issue be resolved, but have not received any phone calls in return. I attempted to visit the address of the company listed on the contract (900 Lindenwood, Aurora, IL) but it is a foreclosed home. I have attempted to find other addresses (975 Palace Street, Aurora, IL) (1905 Marketview Drive, Yorkville, IL) Both of these addresses are post boxes listed to Joanie Bellas, the wife of Mark Bellas. Mark Bellas uses alliases such as Mark Ellis, and Mark Ellas. Joanie uses names such as Lori Morgan. There are currently 3 complaints filed against The Super Painter with the Better Business Bureau. They have an "F" rating and have failed to respond to any of the complaints. They also have 3 complaints filed against them with the Illinois Attorney General's Office. Joanie Bellas has been arrested for fraud in 2009 by the Sugar Grove Police Department. Please see the attached article by the Elburn Newspaper http://elburnherald.com/755/2009/01/09/police-id-additional-potential-victims-of-baby-fest-fraud/ Mark Bellas is currently on trial for theft as evident by the following government document http://www.judici.com/courts/cases/case_information.jsp?court=IL071015J&ocl=IL071015J,2010CF165,IL071015JL2010CF165D1 All of this is true with documents backing up all statements made.
Description of Work: Mr. Bellas agreed to stain the fence of our property and paint the interior of our home. Our home is 3 years old and the fence was built in April of 2010 (5 months old) I chose special wood for the fence in order to show off the grain. I therefore wanted a semi-transparent stain put on my fence. The contract stated that the fence was to be pressure washed and cleaned of debris prior to staining. The stain was to be spreayed and then rolled into the fence. A payment of 50% of the total cost was due at the time the contract was signed. The check was given in the amount of $750.00 Mark Bellas agreed to return on August 30th at 10:00am weather pending to start on the project.
