Arun Aggarwal promptly scheduled an appointment to meet with us after we initially called. He observed the area, made notes and listened to our concerns and preferences. The area of our yard backs up to older tree growth, including black walnut trees known to release a toxin through their root systems. Previous plantings had not survived. Arun suggested we contact Mike Spravka, of Plumages (see separate review) to seek his expertise as a landscape designer and arborist. Mike designed a beautiful plan, Arun submitted the proposal, and the job was scheduled. All utility lines were previously marked and the job was completed in one day. The RentAGardener crew was pleasant, careful, and diligent. They even put tarp coverings on our neighbors' adjoining walkway to keep their area clean. Mike Spravka was also at the site to oversee the project and make any adjustments in the plan as they arose. All the plants installed are nice specimens and Arun made a special effort to locate some specific plant varieties we requested. We couldn't be happier with the final outcome! What a pleasure it is to look out upon a beautiful array of plantings. It was a pleasure working with Arun, his crew, and Mike Spravka. We highly recommend both RentAGardener and Plumages and look forward to working with them on future projects.

Arun, the owner was a wonderful man to work with. He is calm, competent, and a good listener. He met with us a few times to give us a quote, and then to go over the details about the job. We were very pleased with the job, and he also corrected a few other problems with my sub pump and gutter drainage that was needed. The crew he had were very good, and I would highly recommend this business to anyone needing landscaping work.

Arun came out and we walked through all I was looking to have done. He made recommendations to help improve the growth of some of our bushes and newly planted hydrangeas. His crew did a TON of work for us including edging of all the beds, moving three plants, expanding out a bed, weeding all beds, emptied all of my pots from the summer, did general fall clean-up and laid mulch. They worked from 8:30 am until 4pm taking a short break for lunch. They literally worked all day!! It looks amazing! We would never have the time or energy to do all the work this crew did. Arun was very professional and punctual. We will use them again for Spring clean up as well.

The end result was good, but there were a few bumps on the way there. First, the workers accidentally cut our phone line while digging out old plants. The phone company had to completely replace the line and bury it back into the ground. Second, they forgot to take care of some items on the list so they had to come back a second day.

They seem like a good company. They were priced reasonably and came out really quick and they did what they said they're going to do. I would use this provider in the future.

Arun arrived on time and as scheduled. Since my wife and I only had a general idea of what we wanted, he took time to share with us specific ideas that provided a much clearer picture of our options. Upon our request, he paid a second visit to answer additional questions and subsequently provide a detailed quote for the work. After agreeing to proceed, the project started on time and progressed smoothly. The work was completed in 6 days as scheduled. Throughout the project, Arun continued to be involved by maintaining oversight of the work and communicating with us on a daily basis. The work crews did a fabulous job with a focus on quality and workmanship. We are happy to have selected Rent A Gardener Inc. and are very pleased with the completed project.

Arun came out the property and discussed the job before hand. We walked the property and he took copious notes as to the detail I wanted. Also, I was very concerned about his team cutting into landscape wire that I had buried. Arun assured me that he and his team would find any landscape wire before digging (and no wires were cut) Also, I was impressed with the condition that he and his team left my landscaping in when they left. You could hardly tell that any digging had taken place even though 4 sizable trenches were dug for the pipes.

The yard looks amazing. I should have called them years ago!! Arun is a top notch professional and very responsive. Customer satisfaction is very important to him as he follows up shortly after the job is completed. I had one suggestion that I thought was part of the arrangement, and that was taken care of immediately. Very pleased with my landscape : )

The work spanned three days. The crews worked well and cleaned up each day after they finished. The placement of the landscaping features was exactly as we wanted. Arun was on site to assure the proper installation of each landscape element. The crew performed the job with minimal disruption to the home site. They were careful to be neat. The result is beautiful. Arun provided directions and suggestions to help us with the continuing care of the yard.

We contacted several companies for quotes. Arun was by far the most responsive. After discussing and negotiating price, Arun set a date for us. His crew of two men arrived for two days of work and did a fantastic job. My patio looks brand new!

After visiting the website and seeing that they do, in fact, list that they provide these services, I called and spoke with someone on the phone who confirmed that they provide those services, but the estimator was out in the field and would have to get back to me. After waiting for a call back, I finally received a voice mail (within a couple of hours) that said they do not offer these services, and that I will have to look somewhere else. Not sure why they would list services on their website that they don't actually offer. I was so disappointed that I didn't bother to call back. I will take my business elsewhere.

They were nice and came out as promised. Unfortunately, after coming out he indicated it's beyond his service area and outside his territory. This company is about 20 miles away. Initially, I asked about a weekly service and then asked about a Spring and Fall clean-up and he said he would consider the Spring and Fall clean up only and then later communicated that he would not be able to do this either.

A+ for this company from start to finish. Arun came out and gave us an initial estimate and consultation which included some great ideas. We scheduled right away. They were prompt, worked hard and far surpassed our expectations all around. It is wonderful to find a company that is professional, knowledgeable and customer service oriented. The price was very fair. I can't wait to have them out for more projects!

Arun was responsive and professional as always in giving the estimate and directing his crew. We had the same excellent crew as we did for previous annual pruning. The crew does excellent work. They were punctual. They met and exceed all my expectations. They remembered all the small requests I made and did some extras. When they left our property it looked great!

I think they went above and beyond what we were expecting. They did all the little things that made sense and really seemed to know exactly what they were doing to make our home look that much better. They were helpful with explaining things and go out of their way to call to follow up and give watering instructions. Our yard is a night and day difference for the better. They called ahead of the installation and gave my wife and myself some other ideas on different plants we could use which was definitely appreciated because we switched some of the bushes to lilacs which my wife loves. They also felt it would give our yard some more color which made a lot of sense and would not have been something I would have thought about. I couldn't be happier with everything and am glad I found this company.

We are in the process of completing it now. They are just now finishing it up and I haven’t actually written the last check yet. It has been going very good. They pay personal attention and do tidier work.

The workers arrived just after 8 AM with a scheduled start time of 8:30. They immediately started working and finished about 4 PM. They knew what had to be done and they did it without our supervision. This is the 3rd time that we have hired Rent A Gardener. We have them come once a year in the spring/early summer to do all the things that would take us forever to do. It's great to have everything completed in 1 day!

I decided to have Rent A Gardener do the work. Their approach and recommendations to the work made sense. Their quote was clearly itemized. Their price was good. They contacted JULIE regarding the excavation and leveling work to identify buried utility pipes and cables. They met their commitments in the time frame promised. The work took two days. I was especially happy with the work they did in trimming existing bushes and with the type and placement of new ones.

We called them and Arun came over promptly to discuss our needs. We have an area at the front of our home that had never professionally done. He spent a good deal of time with us making suggestions and followed up the next day with a written estimate. Arun and the 2 man crew showed up on time on the day we scheduled for the work. They spent an entire day moving the existing plants, planting new ones, put down mulch, trimmed all the bushes and trees, fixed some of the pavers, etc. We've lived here for 25 years and the area has never looked better! The job, from start to finish was _more_ than I expected. Of all the services I used from Angie's list Rent A Gardner stands out as the best

I first used Rent a Gardener last year after interviewing several landscaping companies. I chose Rent a Gardener and was not sorry. This year it was a very easy decision to use them again. Now I have the nicest looking yard on the block.! With Arun's company you can count on very professional and timely service, he came out and walked through the yard with me and I told him what I wanted done and listened to his suggestions. The end result - I couldn't be happier. I will call on them again next year.

They were very knowledgeable and informative. Very nice guy, however we ended up going with another company who happened to have a little lower estimate.

Fantastic job from Arun and the Rent a Gardner team. I highly recommend this business. Arun always responded to my questions and concerns in a timely fashion and gave great ideas for new flowers for my front landscaping. From the time we met up for a free estimate to the time of finishing the project, I was always treated professionally and the crew that came the day of the project were friendly and smiling as they worked diligently. I was very impressed with their service and will use them in the future. Also, the team was very punctual and our property was left very clean afterwards. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed!

We initially had Rent A Gardener come out last summer to give us an estimate on our entire yard. We opted to break up the project into 2 parts. They did a great job on the front/north side of our home and then this spring they returned to do the south side/back yard. Although we already had a quote and idea of what was being done, Arun came out about a month before the scheduled date to review the plan and any changes. The transformation of our yard is amazing. Arun was able to come up with a plan to clean up the yard and had great ideas about what to plant, what should be removed, how to edge and reshape the beds, etc. He was responsive to inquiries, easy to work with and happy to make changes to estimates as needed. This was a big job and the crew had to work around our pool and fence, hauling in lots of mulch and removing tons of plant material. My husband and I are not all that knowledgeable about plants and the crew identified we had an invasive shrub growing in our backyard and removed it for no additional charge and even followed up with an email article about the particular shrub. They were also able to squeeze in time to clear out a drain in our backyard to alleviate some standing water issues that we occasionally experience. Overall, I would recommend Rent A Gardener to friends and neighbors. We were very impressed with the work and plan to use them going forward to maintain our beautiful landscaping.

I got estimates from two Angie's list "A" yard care companies. I chose Rent A Gardener because Arun provided lots of good ideas during his estimate "walk around". He suggested the French drain and the stepping stones. I appreciated his expertise and a fresh look at my yard. Arun arrived with his team and walked around the yard discussing with his team what needed to be done. He even marked with paint specific things he wanted. His team worked very hard finishing up after 5:30. They were very conscientious and did an excellent job cleaning away debris from our extremely hard winter. They took care with each of their tasks and responded well to any feedback I gave them. The beds looked great, edges were cut cleanly and the mulch was put down smoothly without burying any of my perennials. After they left my wife was not happy with the positioning of some of the stepping stones. I emailed Arun and his team came by in a few days to do the work. They did an excellent job of positioning the stones exactly as we requested. I appreciated Arun's followup after he had been paid. I plan to use Rent A Gardener in the fall also.

Initial contact went okay but was mostly one-sided in retrospect. Since they were not open for the season it was mostly phone-tag and the further follow-up contact was not exactly prompt. It was easy to understand because a seasonal operation only has staffing during the season and owners have regular lives, too. So, while the follow-up contacts seemed mostly reasonable time-wise and as my normal life focus is caring for a disabled family person plus full-time employment with a long commute this did not appear as a deal breaker at the time. It turned out to be my mistake. They were the last contractor contacted and the estimate amount provided on Saturday the 15th was explained as their minimum charge yet it was on par with other contractor estimates. Sadly, they did not have any crew on hand yet to come out and perform any work and would be back in touch with me on an exact availability. The winning factor in their favor is they are local being just down the street and I am familiar with some of their other performed works. Normally I would have taken on the entire project myself. At this time my reasons to choose contractor/gardener: This winter was dragging out and the ground was mostly frozen yet; I had two recent ankle sprains and a bone fracture yet healing; I do not have the proper tools since the Community Association normally handles projects. They had pushed this on my shoulders. I had initially balked over the owner's insistence with a verbal contract when reached on Wednesday the 19th but I decided since they were willing to proceed on my request and my timeline plus they had not officially opened for the season yet (also they were just down the street) this seemed as a reasonable request on their part. I bit the bullet here and agreed because of the condition of their availability for Saturday the 22nd in the AM as now agreed. They were also made to understand I had a twin project which required the 2 bushes be removed hinged on that being completed first. I had already contacted the other contractors to decline their estimates. So I agreed to accept Rent-A-Gardener's verbal contract of service. Yet later on the afternoon (about 5PM I believe) on that Wednesday the 19th the owner left a message requesting a date delay because their crew suddenly had other appointments before mine and instead of for Saturday the 22nd in the AM perhaps Monday the 24th in the AM would see his crew available schedule open with flexibility. Later on Saturday the 22nd the owner left a message requesting a date delay to Wednesday the 26th in the AM. Then things began to change further. They had agreed to Wednesday the 26th in the AM for the 2 shrub removal with clean site left and waste removal. They left a message to change the date and Saturday the 29th in the AM would now be fine for their schedule. I began to appreciate the concept of service contract more and more. It did seem reasonable to expect some concession on the project price if only due to the many service date changes and delays but that offer never materialized from the owner. The time finally set for removal was three times delayed and not the most auspicious for me. When they would finally have crew available my other project which required the shrubs removal would now already be completed. That complicated my choosing them for the project because it meant I had to cut the shrubs down to the crowns and bundle the waste. So I agreed to the delayed date of service with the imposed extra site prep on my part So, the project timeline was pushed back 3 times and even then they did not show when originally agreed but said they would be out before NOON on Saturday the 29th. The crew person arrived on site at 1PM and when finished some 45 minutes later the left without removing the bag of waste trimmings. I dropped off the bag of trimmings (just down the street) on my way into work on the following Monday morning, April 1st. Generally speaking, I was okay with what work they did, but their approach and process was foreign to my other business experiences. The quality of the professionalism was greatly lacking. I am not sure I would repeat this ever again.
