Took advantage of this company's Angie's List Big Deal and so glad I did. Rent a Gardener is a wonderful company. I was very impressed with Arun's professionalism and prompt communications and very happy with the team he sent (George and the other individual were fantastic). They pulled weeds, cut down and removed bushes, hauled debris, trimmed many bushes in the front and back yards, and removed dead trees. George even was nice enough to show me a problem with a broken misplaced gutter and showed me how to make sure that it is secure. Those guys went above and beyond the call of duty. They worked diligently all day, and I never saw them taking a break. Just really nice, hardworking guys and they clean up when they are done. My front/back yard looked amazing when they were done. I will not hesitate to call this company again - very happy customer!

As I said above, they did a terrific job. Arun is the most professional owner I've worked with in the three years I've owned my home. I contacted him over the phone, and right away he asked for pictures, picked my brain and within 24 hours I had two estimates from him on my options. We pushed it off for a few weeks while we were traveling and doing other projects. After getting an estimate from another company which was three times the price that Arun quoted and not quite up to par on my personal honesty scale, we decided to move forward and I had Arun come out to check out the yard. He was polite, professional, accomodating, you name it. He laid out three separate options on the yard, and proceeded to offer other ideas to integrate the side yard into the front, and fix another problem in the front yard. My head was spinning a little, waiting for the price change, however it was all included in the price he had already quoted me. So that was a Friday morning. Within a couple of hours, Arun confirmed they'd be out the next Thursday. Then confirmed they'd be there in the morning the night before. All stuff you'd expect, however I've learned when dealing with contractors, not all of them go this extra mile! So they came out Thursday, as promised, and absolutely knocked it out. They not only graded the bed exactly as I'd pictured and discussed with Arun, they mulched it, which was not discussed and a complete and very welcome surprise, and also filled low spots all over the yard and applied straw mat over top to prep for the winter. They also removed the overgrown rose bush that was a disaster, and trimmed the existing shrubs in the bed - which we had also never discussed, a complete surprise to me when I saw it. They completely changed the look of my house, and we can't wait for spring to start adding new plants. So bottom line, if you are having landscaping work done, this is your Company. Arun is honest and professional, a true pro who you can tell loves what he does. They will do your job right, 100% right.

From start to finish on each of the jobs over the summer, Arun and his team performed top notch work. They are extremely skilled, punctual and very respectful to our home. Arun is extremely thoughtful and articulate with planning the job to be done. He strives to provide high quality work. He has an elite team and together they really do deliver; obviously they take great pride in the quality of their work. We have used Arun in previous years and will certainly continue to do so in the future. We were so pleased with each of the jobs; each team member worked very hard. We would highly recommend Rent a Gardener!!

We were completely satisfied with the work that Arun's crew did. We definitely will be calling them in the spring for some landscaping work in the front of our home.

My backyard is quite different from when it began and how it is today. Came in on time, performed all the things we asked and cleaned up. Arun and his crew were wonderful. Our backyard landscaping and entire lawn got a transformation/facelift and looks absolutely wonderful. We would not hesitate to use his services again.

They did a wonderful job and exceeded our expectations. We have had other companies do similar work but never with such great results. They hauled away all refuse (for a very reasonable cost). Our yard has never looked so good. We used an Angie's List deal for a certain number of hours but the crew stayed a little longer to get the job done. We look forward to working with this company again for all of our landscaping needs.

Arun was very responsive when requested to come out for a quote. Also he was kept us informed of his work date; his crew arrived exactly when they advised and worked all day to accomplish what we needed done. They cleaned up very well after they were done considering they laid black dirt and mushroom compost in the whole yard.

Overall, very good experience. Wanted to install about some tall evergreens along the property line. Arun came by for an estimate and we discussed in detail what I wanted and what can be done. Decided to go with eight 7' arb, two 7' hemlock, four 7~9' spruce. Scheduled the work for 3 weeks out at the time (late spring). However, the property owner on the other side wanted to do something different, and have to cancel the installation at the literarily the last minute. But Arun is very easy to work with, and to make things easier, in the end, we just bought trees through Arun, and the other side designated their own folks to install the trees. Overall, a good experience, esp. given the situation that I have to change the contract 2 biz days before the scheduled day. Would definitely recommend Arun and use them in the future when project comes.

this was by far the best hire i have ever done. The workers said they would be at my house at 8:30 am and they arrived at 8:15. I explained to them what i would like to have done with the understanding that it was a lot of work and they might not get it all done. The work included the front yard and back yard. Three evergreen bush stumps needed to be removed, stones removed two flower beds weeded and cleaned a vegtabable garden cleaned and edged and the entire area that was being worked on needed a very nice edge. They started working at 8:30 and they stopped only one time to have a quick lunch then back to work. By 4:00 pm they had finished all the work i had asked them to do. I can honestly say my yards have never looked so good. Without hesitation i would use them again and refer them to anyone looking to have yard work done. Thank you for a job well done.

Recently diagnosed with cancer and with a 55 lb. dog that I can no longer handle, my main objective in purchasing this service was to clean up where I was no longer able to and to trim the tree back so a fence could be installed. The crew greatly exceeded my objectives and expectations, went way above and beyond what I had asked for, were extremely courteous and professional and even saved four baby bunnies they found in the weeds! This is the best my yard has looked since I moved here, including when I was able to do it all myself! I am delighted with all of the work the crew completed on my property and highly recommend this company! We used Angie's list to select 3 firms to bid on our project. Rent-A-Gardener was one of the 3. Arun was very prompt in returning my initial phone call to schedule time to come to the house (in fact he was the quickest of the three). We scheduled a time to meet on the next Saturday. Arun arrived on time (in fact a bit early) and he took the time to walk through the entire yard and then sit with us to understand what we needed done and make suggestions. He took notes and told us we'd have a proposal in a few days. The proposal was sent to us online (which was nice). As I met with the other firms, each one had its own suggestions. After I had met with all of them and got their bids, I followed up with Arun to ensure his bid included everything we wanted. His bid was not the cheapest, but based on his responsiveness and our initial meeting, I felt that his firm would do a great job. Arun knew that he was not the cheapest but he did provide a new customer discount which helped to get him close (and it certainly was appreciated). Arun also knew we had a deadline to have the work completed and assured us that the work would be done in time. He even temporarily held a day on his schedule for us before we had even committed to his proposal. Once we accepted his proposal, we firmed up the date. He kept in contact until the actual date, including letting us know when he had contacted J.U.L.I.E to get the yard marked.On the day of all the work, his crew arrived on time. Arun was there at the beginning to walk the entire yard with me and his crew so that they knew exactly what needed to be done. The guy that was the "foreman" of the crew was excellent. Although Arun left for most of the day, it was very easy to talk with the foreman and make sure everything was done the way we wanted. Arun stopped by midday and then again near the end of the day to make sure everything was going well. All the guys worked really hard all day and did a super job. There were a couple of minor things near the end of the day that were a bit frustrating (like not being careful and dragging the hose over some of the new plantings and breaking one of my limestone slabs), but overall, they really did a super job. The entire yard looks great (the best it has looked in years). I would definitely call them again if I had work to be done.Arun had told me that I would get an invoice online after the work was done. What surprised me was that it was higher than the proposal (it had taken them longer to do the work than what they had estimated). I will admit, I was a bit upset about that especially after they had done such a nice job. I immediately sent Arun an email about it and he quickly responded and took the charge for the extra time off the invoice. He also made it very easy to pay online which was nice too.

We contacted Arun as we see his truck often in our area.He came by and walked our property with my husband to get the full scope of the job.Within a day or two, we received a quote for the project.We decided to go ahead with the job, as we just couldn't find the time to do this ourselves this year.We couldn't be happier!The work was amazing. I was so happy to come home from work to see a beautifully landscaped yard!They cleaned up and removed all of the materials they pulled up. Might I add this was a truck bed full! Yikes, we needed the help.We will definitely use this contractor again - most likely this fall when it's time to clean up before winter.Thanks Arun and Crew!

Arun was extremely easy to work with. I was unable to meet with him in person, he took information over the phone and Then walked my property. Estimate was complete and timely. Follow-up email was a nice touch. Very attentive.and responsive. I chose to proceed with another company based on family referral but will definitely keep Arun in mind for any future needs.

If anyone needs any landscape work doing hire Arun. We did, we are already planning to again in the Fall, we are customers for life, everything about this experience was absolutely superb. In a business where there are so many shady characters it was so refreshing to find someone who still operates on the principles of hard work, integrity, and ethics. I rarely provide references but would for Arun. From start to finish everything about the experience of working with Arun was excellent. So many companies are unreliable, unprofessional, and at times totally disrespectful to their customers, not Arun. When we made initial contact, Arun got back to us the same day, he schedule a site visit the same week, arrived early, he promised an estimate by the end of that week, the estimate arrived on the day he promised, it was detailed and accurate and was accepted. He suggested a start date and there were no excuses and he and his team arrived a few minutes early prepared ready to go (unheard of), they continued to arrive everyday, not running off to other jobs or showing with one token resource (unheard of), the team were incredibly nice, skilled, well lead, a pleasure to deal with, worked the backsides off, and really wanted to make the client happy (unheard of), Arun was onsite daily (unheard of). As indicated above I rarely provide contractor references but would for Arun. This was a great experience from start to finish with what a feel was a traditional contractor who for want of a better term had skin in the game in his own business. We will hire him again soon.

I was referred to Arun at Rent A Gardener through Mike Spravka of Plumages, who did a landscape design for me for my new construction home, which had nothing but sod in the side and large backyard. Arun quickly got back to me through email with a quote to purchase and install 22 trees, create beds around the perimeter of the back and side yards, and mulch all of the beds, including some other existing ones I had in the front and around the house. The price seemed reasonable for the amount of work to be performed, and the reputation of Rent A Gardener from Angies List and the referral from Mike Spravka clinched the deal. Arun mailed me the contract to sign, which I received a couple of days later, and we scheduled a date for the installation. Six workers showed up promptly at the scheduled date/time, and got right to work stripping out the sod and creating the beds. They were all hard workers, were courteous and knew what they were doing. (I also had Mike Spravka of Plumages there directing the installation of the trees according to his landscape design.) When the trees arrived, I was pleased by the great quality and by how large they were. The workers took the time to install the trees right, digging large holes, taking off any wires, burlap and twine, and amending/replacing the existing soil/clay with good quality organic top soil to give the trees a kick-start. During installation I decided to add a couple more trees and to change the type of one crab apple, and Arun was able to do so on the fly with no problem. Arun also took care of ordering additional soil and mulch as needed. Everything was run like clockwork. Luckily the weather cooperated, too. In addition to the job that was quoted, the workers also took away a lot of sod I had ripped up to make some beds around the house, and they edged all of those beds as well as the ones the builder had put in the front yard. This was a big job, and the workers were busy for three days straight. I am extremely pleased by the result, and I've gotten many compliments on my yard already. It's been about a month, and the trees are already showing signs of new growth, so you can tell they are happy and healthy. I would definitely recommend Rent A Gardener, and will use them again in the future if I need more work done.

Arun came personally to give an estimate. His crew arrived promptly on the agreed date and did a fine job start to finish. They were careful and neat and answered my annoying questions with good grace and a sense of humor.

We have worked with them before and used them again because we were pleased with the previous job. We scheduled a consultation and Arun arrived promptly as usual on a Saturday. He listened to our needs and patiently answered our questions. He submitted an estimate for the work the following Monday; and we scheduled the work to take place on May 4th. The project went well overall. It was supposed to be completed in one day but they ended up needing a second day to complete the project because they had to go and pick up more mulch. Actually it didn't take the entire second day to complete the project. It took about 3 hours. However, on the first day, they arrived on time and immediately starting cleaining out the flower beds, pruning and placing mulch. They completed most of the retaining wall on the first day. Arrived around 9 am and left around 6 pm. They were to return the following Monday but weather didn't cooperate and they postponed until the next day. I was concerned when I returned home the next day around 12 noon and noticed that no one was working on the yard. I called Arun and he informed me that the crew would be by the house in the afternoon. He immediately contacted the crew and called me right back with an update. He told me to expect them around 2.30 pm and that is when they arrived. They completed the retaining wall and actually added more height to the wall as a favor. We really appreciated that. At the end, we walked around together and the leader of the crew explained everything that was done. I was very pleased. We will definitely work with them again.

I emailed Arun, and he came out to my house to give me an estimate a few days later. He was on time and I had the feeling right away that he really knew what he was doing. I received a verbal estimate before he left, then one in email the next day. A few weeks later, his crew came out. He showed up in the morning to give ideas on what we should do to make the yard look better, and to give further instructions to the crew. They finished in one day, and wow, was I impressed! My yard has never looked better. Both my wife and I couldn't be happier. We will use Rent A Gardner from here on to open our yard in the spring.

I recently bought a home that was on the market for about a year without anyone living in (or caring for) the house and yard, respectively (The home had professional landscaping). Needless to say, there was a lot of yard work to be done to bring the yard back to life. I got several bids. Rent-a-Gardner was the best by far. Arun was outstanding from start to finish. He showed up in person and walked the entire front and back yard with me, teaching me about the different plants, care points, potential issues, and suggested changes (e.g., such as how to prune a few trees to prevent any future growth issues or damage to my new home). No other gardening service did this. He also provided a competitive bid for all of the services that I mention in the "Work Description" section. It took two days to complete the work (there was a lot - I watched after they trucked away several loads of grass/branches/debris), and Rent-a-Gardener employees were very professional, kind and listened to and performed all of the changes/suggestions that I had as the job moved forward. Arun showed up himself to inspect the work and make sure the job was done right. In the end, I got a completely manicured lawn, trees and paved backyard that is "knock-out gorgeous" (so says my friends and family). Arun and his team at Rent-A-Gardener are top notch in quality and professionalism and I will be using them again. If you're looking for outstanding lawn service at an outstanding deal, then look no further.

It went very well. The owner Arun came out at the exact time that he said he would. That was unusual. I'm used to the contractor coming out an hour later than he promised or maybe not even coming the day he promised. However, Arun came out and was actually early. But he was respectful and kept to the time and didn't come up to ring the doorbell until it was time for our appointment. He surveyed the property and then my husband and I explained to him what we were looking to have done. We happened to have landscaping designs from a previous landscaper. Therefore, Arun didn't need to complete any designs. He went over those designs with us briefly and then told us that he would send us an estimate in email by the next day. He was punctual with the estimate as well. We were able to accept the estimate two days after he came out. He mailed our contract out to us a couple of days after our acceptance of his estimate. We accepted his estimate on the Saturday before Columbus Day and he mailed the contract out to us the day after Columbus Day because of the federal holiday. We signed the 1 page contract and work started on the 18th of October and completed on the 18th of October. Arun also came over per my husband's request on Saturday (Oct 15th). My husband just wanted to ensure that we were all on the same page about where everything was to be planted on October 18th. Arun said he would be out to our home at 9 am on Saturday and obviously he arrived on time. He and my husband were able to make a couple of changes to the original design. Then Tuesday, October 18th arrived. Arun and his crew were to arrive at 8:30 am. My husband and I left for work early but I returned by 12 noon and sure enough everything in the backyard had been dug up. They were only waiting for the shrubs and the trees to arrive. They completed the project by 4 pm that day and left the yard and property clean. It was a real pleasure to work with them and we will use their services for maintenance of the landscape as well.
