My plumbing was making a loud noise every time I turned any of my faucets on or off. It just started happening so I started to call a plumber to get and idea of what it was. The problem with most Plumbing companies is you get a receptionist who can do nothing but book an appointment. In this case I had booked one with a plumber which was going to cost me $40.00 to come out and could not make it until tomorrow. I was worried this was a major issue so I called Plumb-IT to see if they would come out today to look at it: 1. Scott was very friendly and suggested I just turn off my water in my townhouse and drain all my faucets. Turn it back on and see what happens. 2. It was a 5 minute solution that fixed my issue and saved me visit and expense of having a plumber come out! Bottom line, its service like this that will make me come back to Plumb-IT when I do have plumbing issues in the future. Outstanding customer service!

***Update*** I have revised my original review, which gave Plumb It low grades for Overall Satisfaction, Price and Professionalism based on our experience documented below. Shortly after we submitted the review, Scott called and spoke to my husband. He explained their normal cost structure for weekday and weekend rates. My husband indicated that we should have asked for clarification on weekend pricing before confirming the appointment, however, we were not anticipating that it would be so much more expensive. Acknowledging the lack of communication on the part of both parties, Scott agreed to charge us the normal weekday rate, which was $150. We appreciate Scott's professionalism and responsiveness to our concerns. In repsonse, we have adjusted the grades accordingly. ***Original Review***We left a message early on a Saturday morning to schedule a time to have a clogged toilet fixed. Scott called back about an hour later. He said he had someone available to come out at 9 am, which didn't work for us. He offered to check afternoon availability and called back minutes later with a 2 pm slot. At that time he mentioned, they were on weekend hours. We arrived home at 2 p.m. and the plumber, James, was already there. He was pleasant, professional and done within 10 minutes. My problem was that the bill was $250 for 10 min of work. Our bad for not clarifying the weekend hour rate. Their bad for not setting clear expectations for the customer.

They ran into some unusual problems while working but Scott handled them well. The did a terrific job and I would use them again in the future.

After my wife notified me that our lower level had water backed up in to it I began looking for a plumber to help us out. I contacted Plumb It around 6:00pm on a friday. They answered the phone right away and after hearing my problem asked when I was looking to have someone come out. As water was no longer actively backing up in to the house I stated Saturday morning would be fine. I recevied a call back about an hour later that a plumber would be at my house about 8am. Because our house is about 40 years old and we have only been in it a year, I had requested that they bring a scope so we could see what was going on in the pipe and if there was a bigger reason for the clog. Around 7:45 that morning I received a call that the plumber would be a little late due to having to pick up the scope at a different location than expected. I am ok with them being a little late as they did us the courtesy of notifying us. When the plumber arrrived he was very courteous and took off his shoes every time he entered our house. He quickly diagnosed the problem and went to work on unplugging our main sewer drain. The whole process took about 2 hours from the time time the plumber arrived to the time he was leaving. He was very respectful of our house and was very polite. I am happy with the service that we received from Plumb It. I gave the cost a B as it seemed expensive to me. However, I will fully admit that this is the first time in my life that I have had to call a plumber and I don't have a frame of reference. The plumber came on a Saturday so I know that played in to the price.

I called Plumb-It because of the rave reviews on Angie's List. After repeatedly getting an answering machine, Scott finally answered the phone around 4 pm on a Tuesday afternoon. I started to explain why I was calling and was told that he would call me back "after normal working hours in about 2 hours" which would make that around 6 pm. Anxious to be respectful of his time, I suspended my normal evening activities and sat by the phone awaiting his return call. I waited....and waited...and waited for a call that never came. I thought he might have been working on a particularly difficult project and might call the next day. But I have never heard from him. This has been typical of my experiences with vendors recommended by Angie's List. My sister has had similar experiences. Neither of us has ever hired a vendor listed on Angie's List. Original review was on 5/21/2013. This is an update as of 5/30/2013. Yesterday we received an in-person visit from Scott who apologized for not returning my call. He explained what had happened. As it is not my intention to ruin anyone's hard-won reputation, I am amending this review. Certainly, we are all human and stuff happens. Even though Scott did not perform the work about which we were inquiring, the fact that he would go out of his way to come apologize in person speaks volumes about his character. Due to unforseen financial outlays in our life, we have not yet had the intended plumbing work done. When things settle down, I just may call Scott again to request his services. I think you can trust him too.

He responded quickly, he was fairly priced, he was pleasant and he was informative. I can't really think of anything he could improve upon. I think it's the third time we've used him now. He got back to me right away and he came early usually. I've already recommended him to several people.

This is my third time using Plumb-It. When I turned my outdoor spigot on for the first time this year, it spewed water out of the anti-siphon cap. I talked to Scott on Mon afternoon. He called me first thing Tues morning and offered me either a Wed or Thurs slot. They were unexpectedly running late Thurs morning for my 10-11am appointment slot but called before 9am to let me know, which I really appreciated. Even so, they arrived just after 11. They turned off the water to the house and cut a ~10" wide hole in my basement ceiling to reach the pipe. They installed a new spigot, cleaned up, and turned the water back on in less than an hour. Very straight forward job. As always, they were punctual, professional, fair, and pleasant to work with. I will continue to call on them with any future needs.

04/19: Called Scott on 04/19 indicating we want to have current battery backup sump pump evaluated and a new one installed. Scott indicates $75 fee and will provide all details once he is onsite. So appointment set for 04/22 @ 3 PM CST 03/22: Jim calls at 3:24 PM CST on 04/22 and says will be there in 5 min!!! 1) Evalute battery back up sump pump - This was the primary reason for calling. Jim who showed up said he knows nothing about backup sump pumps and will need to refer to me to the boss Scott for the 3-4 different options available for backup sump pumps!! First thought for me - why the h*** is he here then? Well since he is here let me ask him to check the primary sump pump as I know nothing about sump pumps. 2) Evaluate and replace primary sump pump - Jim indicated that primary is about 10 years old and the switch is defective. Would be good to replace. Estimated cost would be $475 for Zoller M53. Asked him if he would clean the sump pump off all the debrie (rocks, mud at bottom of sump pit) to which he said ok. Told him to help repair a small problem I have in master bathroom with a faucet while I speak to Scott on backup pumps and to my wife on changing primary pump which we never budgeted for!! Naturally wife indicated to go ahead. Jim replaced the pump. He did all the work in his truck but I had to clean up behind him the water and debrie which dripped on the hardwood floor as he took the old pump out to his truck (not a big deal as it was not much to clean up). Also he never cleaned up the debrie in the sump pit and never bothered to check the exit pipes of the sump pump. Scott indicated 2 options for battery backup which were too costly for me!! Told Scott that I will call him back or email in a day or 2 indicating what I have decided. While installing the primary sump pump, my existing WatchDog backup which was rated very low by Jim was taken away by him in his truck (all I was missing was a battery which Jim indicated contact Scott to check cost. Scott indicated it would cost $450 to replace) Jim never gave me a copy of user manual or even warranty or registration form or product details document of Zoller M53 primary pump installed 3) Fix blockage in master bath faucet for cold water - Jim worked on this as I spoke to Scott. Was really pleased with the outcome. Was fixed within 10 min and costed me $50. Job well done Overall I did like that Jim was a real good guy did a good job with the primary pump, but gave no instructions on how to maintain the sump pump, made his visit a bit painful for me as I had to call Scott his boss to check on main reason for calling him. 04/23: Contacted Scott via contact us page on his website asking for user manual and for Jim to bring my battery backup WatchDog pump back to test it out with new battery - Got no response till date 04/24: Called Scott at around 12:30 PM cst and left him VM indicating I want to go ahead with battery backup sump pump and also wanted to follow up on a few questions from work done - Got no response till date 04/30: Got fed up waiting and went with another plumber.

I am a real estate agent and needed a plumber quickly for a sump pump that was dead. Water was on the floor of the basement. After reading reviews on Angie's List, I referred my seller to Scott. I have no idea the price changed since I was not the one paying the bill, but my seller was certainly happy. The sump pump was replaced quickly and the water was sweep back into the sump hole. I'd call him again.

Scott, the owner, answered the call and upon hearing the issue provided an ETA. Scott drove his truck up and along with his helper, Jim, went right to the bathrooms and proceeded to replace my aged valves. Within 10 minutes I was all set, tested and ready for another 10 years (hopefully). They were neat, made no mess and kicked off their shoes when walking through the house. I would certainly recommend Scott and his company for anyone having a plumbing issue.

The service was exceptional! I would highly recommend Scott/Plumb-It, Inc. to anyone who needs plumbing services. While I have not needed a plumber in the past, I definitely now know who I will call in the future for any plumbing needs, and would certainly highly recommend Scott and his company to anyone! Thank you so much! You eliminated a significant amount of stress in my day!

My water heater had been on the fritz for a while, and on a busy Friday it decided to die all together... we needed a new plumber, and I was hesitant to use someone brand new for a big job, but I was out of options! I found Plumb-It Inc on Angie's List and was impressed with all the grade "A" reviews and positive comments. I called Scott, the owner, at 4pm on a Friday and he answered directly. He provided great customer service on the phone, helped me select the right size water heater, gave me all the details on the professional grade water heaters his company installs, and provided me with info on the warranty, etc. I was braced to hear Scott say that they wouldn't be able to come until Monday, or that they could come Saturday for a huge weekend fee... however, that was not the case at all. He said they would be able to install a new water heater in the morning, no problem, and scheduled an arrival between 8 and 9am Saturday morning. James, his employee, arrived the next morning promptly at 8:30am. He arrived with a great looking truck set up that was clearly fully stocked with whatever a plumber may need. James was professional, took his shoes off at the door, patiently answered all of my questions, and explained exactly what he would be doing. The entire job was completed in less than 3 hours, including having to move some of the water pipes. James kept me updated while he was working, checked with me to make sure he was moving the pipes exactly where I wanted. He hauled away the old heater at no extra charge, did an excellent job cleaning up after himself and did an excellent job explaining how the new model works compared to the old, how to adjust it, etc - all in easy, non-technical terms!!! The price I paid included the new water heater, the installation, and moving some pipes. I think Plumb-It Inc is an excellent value for high quality service. If "A+" was a rating option, I would choose it. We will most definitely use them again, so reassuring to now have a good plumber on hand!

I called them late in the afternoon on a Friday and they agreed to come out on Saturday morning. They called on Saturday morning and asked if they could come earlier then previously agreed on, which worked perfect for me. He came in and inspected the toilets and ran a camera thru both of them. There was no blockage found and he recommended new toilets, which have been purchased and installed since then. Great service and easy to work with.

He was very good; we were very pleased with him. His pricing was good; it was basically market price. His service was excellent: he was very prompt with the installation, and everything worked out great. We will definitely call him again.

Scott was on time and very professional, informative and honest. I was terrified to call a plumber because I thought they were going to take me for all I had. That was not the case at all. Scott said that he would try and patch it and see if that would work but if not he would have to replace that section of the pipe and even if he would had replaced the whole section it wouldn't have cost me an arm and a leg. He was able to patch it. He showed and explained to me exactly what he did. I would absolutely call him again.

Scott and his assistant showed up on time and completed the job within the time frame that he estimated it would take over the phone, for the price he quoted. I found both men to be personable and pleasant, and down to business when performing the work. I'm going to have them back to do a larger job while renovating a bathroom.

A piece of plastic had gotten flushed down the toilet which made it drain very slowly. After first checking with a camera, they were able to use a long auger to get the piece out.

. I called first thing Saturday morning because the night before my kitchen sink was clogged and running the disposal caused a pipe to come loose and spray everywhere. I received a return phone call within the hour. He knew I was hoping for someone to come that day. He indicated that he was busy, but could send an associate. I happily accepted that option. The gentleman came out sooner than I was told to expect (always a plus). He was very polite. He quickly assessed the initial problem (minor, but caused big issues) and fixed it. He generously entertained my questions on two other concerns I had that were unrelated to my service call. He also offered some useful tips and maintenance suggestions. I was able to use an Angies List coupon and was charged a VERY reasonable price as the service required was not as serious as anticipated. (I had prepared them that I might need the line rodded out. In reality it just requires a pipe extension and cleaning of the pea trap.) I appreciated his honesty. He could have easily performed the more expensive service and I would have been none the wiser.

Scott answered his phone right away and when I explained our issue, he said he was on a job and couldn't get to his calendar but would call me back as soon as the job was done. Within an hour, he called back and added us to his schedule the next day. The next day he called about an hour before our appointment stating he had finished early and wanted toknow if he could come to our house. I was around so this was fine, but i really appreciated the call. I also really like his personality and feel very at ease with him. He has a sense of humor and does quality work. His prices are reasonable and we will definitely use his for all our plumbing needs.

The kitchen ceiling leak proved quite challenging. I give the team high points for problem solving! After careful consideration, they had to cut a secondary hole in a wall above a plant shelf over 12 feet high. There was a dead area inside the wall which they climbed into (no easy feat on top of a 12 foot ladder), and found a PVC pipe that the builder had neglected to seal. It was an easy fix from a plumbing standpoint, but a difficult find and tricky pipe to locate. I had them replace the shower handle next, which was done quickly and efficiently. My total was already at $430. I decided to wait on the outside fixture as I had been hoping the kitchen leak would have been an easier repair, and not so costly. When I had called I was given a high end quote of $325 based on usual causes of the type of leak I described. They held that price, even though the leak was none of the usual problems. The guys were extremely nice, clean and quick. I would definitely recommend them.

Scott repaired several plumbing issues at my mom's house. He was on time, efficient and did a VERY good job. He listened and took the time to explain what needed to be repaired. Scott was patient with my mom and I really appreciated the personal attention he gave to the entire job. I would highly recommend him for any plumbing work in the future.

We awoke at 2:45 this morning to the sound of the water alarm going off in the basement. The water softener was performing its scheduled recharge, but the ejector pump wasn't working: a minor flood, luckily (thanks to the $10 water alarm). I was sure I'd need a new ejector pump. I called Scott Mrizek at 7 am this morning and he said he'd be here between 10 and 11. He and his associate actually showed up earlier than that, and quickly discovered the problem: baby wipes (thanks, kids!) flushed down the toilet and landed on the pump arm, impeding its proper operation. They cleaned all the nasty stuff off the pump and then offset its location so the waste was no longer landing directly on the arm. They resealed the pit. The pump works fine. Scott was punctual and professional. He could easily have sold me a new pump today, and he didn't. I respect his honesty and professionalism. I will not hesitate to call him with any future plumbing needs.

Scott Mrizek and an assistant came to our house as scheduled and on time and proceeded immediately to do the work outlined as needing done: replace hot water heater, reroute cold water pipe, replace laundry tub faucets, and replace two outdoor faucets. He had come before to preview the situation and had already worked out a plan to complete the projects when he arrived. He had given detailed information about the hot water tank he believed would be the best one to replace our old one and got approval from us to use that one. That was the one he brought with him and installed, with expertise and skillful workmanship. His assistant did the main work on replacing the outside faucets. The repiping of the cold water pipe to bypass the water softener was done with expertise and great skill. The new faucets on the laundry tub that were frozen with age are functional and well-placed. His work was timely and exactly as planned. He was finished by lunch time, and they cleaned up the area of work well. We are very happy with all the improvements and will call on him in the future for any more needed plumbing projects.

Our master bath toilet was leaking water from a small pipe extending from the back of it. We called Plumb It lateThurs evening on the 3rd and they arrived 30-minutes ahead of time on Friday the 4th. A 2-man crew showed up and quickly checked my toilet and replaced the defective part in about 15-minutes. They were in and out in the blink of an eye. The owner Scott was one of the 2-man crew that came out and this gentleman is a real self-made businessman who really knows his stuff. He was professional, his accessment was quick and thorough and he was knowledgeable. He answered my questions without talking over my head and made me feel at ease having them in our home. Prior to coming out, he advised me over the phone of what his charges would run and for the quality of work he provided I think it was well worth the montey. This company is a 'keeper'

Scott, came to my house and checked out a slow leak we were having inside one of our toilets. I previously tried to fix it myself, ran into a water hammer issue, and then tried to fix that to no avail. Scott evaluated our situation and only charged labor for the fix as I had the necessary parts already purchased from when I tried to fix it myself. He could have said we could only use parts that he provides and charged us more, but he was honest with everything. After the fix was completed, the toilet started making some noises like a faucet was turning on (probably every hour or so) and I called Scott. He suggested that the flapper was probably bad due to how old the previous fill valve was. He said he could come out to fix it but also provided suggestions to fix it myself if I wanted to. I was able to fix it myself and as a result saved some money. Good service and honest work!
