He was very nice explaining what it could be and to try turning on the water in all faucets and showers letting it run for about 10 minutes. He did not want to come out and charge me for something that I could fix on my own. It worked! and next time I have a problem I will call them back.

It was a quick visit. He was here when he was supposed to be and he finished in 35 minutes time. I needed a plumber quickly but I don’t recall from where I got him. My toilet was leaking and I have a granite floor in my bathroom and granite does not allow water to stay on it for very long so I needed the plumber quickly and I got his name and he was there the same day. He was professional and he cleaned up. He was very nice, he came in put on the paper bootees attended to the problem and fixed it very quickly, he wrote out the bill, he accepted credit card as well as cash which was convenient for me, since I did not had to worry about needing the cash, I thought he was reasonably and he was in and out quickly. There were no issues I had with his service.
Description of Work: I used Plumb-It Inc once to repair a hairline crack on my toilet and it was leaking water.

Returned my call as requested, opening of the next business day and scheduled a time for about 10:30 AM. James called about 9:15 and said that the first job was finished and asked if it was okay to come sooner which I agreed to. He then gave me the approximate arrival time. He showed up on time, diagnosed the cause for the clog and gave two options; rod out or rod out and replacement of the back pitched portion of the line. I elected the rod out to the main and replacing the back pitched section of the drain line. The job was completed in two hours ending with the sweet slurping sound of an open drain. James was professional, amiable and was careful with the tools and equipment and did a wipe down after the work was done. The normal additive costs of pipe replacement and rod out was discounted and an additional discount for being an angle's list member was given. His supervisor also called to discuss how the job was going with the plummer. We leave our shoes at the doorway which James noticed and without a word left his at the door with each trip in and out which i appreciated. It was like having a friend, who was a plummer, do the work.

We first hired Plumb-It, Inc., in July 2012 to install a new kitchen faucet, after searching Angie's List for a highly rated plumber, and we were happy with the work. After the initial installation, the faucet became loose (it's mounted directly on granite), but Scott fixed it by using a different sealant. In July 2013, we called him because our water heater started making unusual noises. Scott and his assistant came out and serviced it; at that time, Scott predicted we would eventually need a replacement part. To help us decide about when to replace the part, Scott called the manufacturer from our home on his mobile phone to find out if the heater was still under warranty. Since the warranty wasn't going to expire for almost another year, we decided to wait a while. Just recently, the water heater began making noises again, apparently from the blower, and displaying a variety of error codes, and so my wife called Scott. She was impressed that he remembered the issue from four months earlier. He and his assistant came the next day after the call, and by this time, the blower assembly had quit working, which meant all the hot water we had left to use was in the tank. Scott called a supplier several miles away from us from his mobile phone to see if the part was available, which it was. Initially, he asked about our schedule for the following day, when he planned to install the new blower. When we explained that we had schedule constraints essentially all day, he said he'd go ahead and try to obtain and install the part the same day, even though he still had two pending service calls. He and his assistant left our house with the old part and returned about an hour later. They installed the new blower in less than half an hour and went on to their next appointments. Their service was so outstanding that we were compelled to write this review. We'll certainly call upon Scott and his team for all of our plumbing issues.
Description of Work: Most recently, Plumb-It, Inc. replaced the blower assembly on my water heater. In the past, Plumb-It, Inc. has serviced my water heater and also installed a new kitchen faucet.

After reading the reviews of various plumbing companies on Angie's List and elsewhere, we chose Plumb-It Inc. We contacted Scott Mrizek (owner of Plumb-It Inc.) on November 13 to inquire about having our 40 gallon natural gas water heater replaced. Scott informed us of the brand of the new water heater and the price ($875) which included installation & hauling away the old heater. We asked if this could be done on November 15 and Scott said it could. On November 15, James arrived about a half hour early which was great. Since our 17-year-old gas water heater was leaking badly, we drained it before he arrived. He got right to work disconnecting the old water heater and removing it. He brought in the new water heater and installed it. He was here for approximately an hour. The water heater is working perfectly. James was friendly, thorough and professional. We highly recommend Plumb-It Inc. Should we have any future plumbing needs, we will not hesitate to contact them.

Scott came in, saw the problem, engineered a fix, and had it done in one day. He removed the ceiling in the downstairs closet, which was already destroyed by the leaking water and a small portion (2'x3') of wall also in the closet. They removed the drum trap and all the very old piping. You can now look up in the closet and see the plumbing in the upstairs bathroom, of which is a thing of beauty. The water drains so quickly now it's amazing. Plumb-It was on time, courteous, respectful of our house, and just very nice people.
Description of Work: Our house was built in 1926, and I believe much of the plumbing in the upstairs was original. The problem was that all of a sudden water started leaking from the upstairs bathroom down to the living room closet. Water has always drained slow from the tub/shower and we were told that was due to the old drum trap. At the same time rodding was very difficult because you had to get into the drum trap to rod. We've had other plumbers in over the years and their collective answer always was to remove it would require tearing up the bathroom floor, downstair ceilings, some walls, and be very expensive. At this point all the water is turned off to the bathroom which is our main bathroom.

I called Scott on Saturday, as the issue started on Thursday; after my husband and I realized that we could not fix the issue, we decided to have it taken care of. When I asked if he could be at our house that day, Scott said he could, but he let me know that because he was on emergency hours, it would cost 150.00 just to have him come to the house. When I said that I would speak to my husband, and perhaps we would, "be cheap", and wait until Monday, Scott agreed, reassuring me that it was not me being cheap, but rather smart with our money. We ended up scheduling for Monday; it took a few back and forth phone calls, as Scott was very busy working on other jobs, but he always called back as soon as he could to try to reach me to schedule. He and his employee were slated to arrive between 12 and 1 on Monday; at 11:45, he called to let me know that they were running late because of the job they were currently at, and apologized. He then gave me the new window, so that I would be prepared. They showed up right as I was trying to put our 3 month old down for a nap. I quickly showed them to the bathroom, and then got out of their way to go to the nursery, telling them to just knock lightly, or push the door open, if they needed anything. As I tried (in vain) to get our little girl to nap, I heard them working away. After a bit, I suddenly realized that it was very, very quiet. As our daughter was doing anything but napping, I walked downstairs with her, just in time to see Scott's truck driving away. I went to the kitchen, where I found an invoice with a note telling me that they did not want to disturb our baby's eating or napping. They simply asked me to remit payment to the address listed. What a nice gesture to a new mom and uncooperative baby! We also had Scott come out to take out a wet bar a few months back, and the service was just as great. He came in, gave us the cost, and then asked if we wanted him to do the job. There was no pressure, and he was happy to walk out if we thought it was too expensive. He stayed, did the job, and ended up charging less than his estimate, as the job entailed less time/labor than at first expected. We will happily use Scott and Plumb-It Inc. in the future.

I contacted Scott, owner of Plumb-it, Inc, and informed him that I needed to replace a hot water heater as I was selling my home and the buyers requested it be replaced. I called around 9:30 at night thinking I would leave a voicemail and would hear back in the morning; to my surprise Scott answered and asked what how he could help! I informed him of my situation and he said the cheapest route would be for me to purchase a water heater myself (which Plumb-it, Inc. obviously wouldn't warranty) and he would only charge for the install. This option easily saved us $200 vs. other quotes we received. James performed the install while I was at work. James made sure to call and update me during the install and after it was completed. Excellent owner in Scott who is virtually always accessible and is an honest and fair plumber. Update: 3 days after having James out to replace the water heater I realized there was water in my basement...after investigating the problem, the water was leaking from the main shutoff valve. I immediately called Scott to have him send someone out (which was James again). James seemed amazed that the valve leaked because according to him almost never happens. Well it leaked and if I hadn't checked the closet where the valve is, it could have possibly caused the sale of my house to be delayed or even fall apart altogether. Here's the best part, James and Scott wanted to charge me almost $200 for the "repair". I called Scott and he seemed to think I was the jerk who was asking for a free repair -- well Scott, your plumber shutoff the main valve which caused it to leak (whether because of his error it or it being a faulty valve). After some debate, I told scott I'd give him $100 for James' "troubles".. I was not home at the time of the repair, so I can't attest to whether James checked the valve properly before leaving. Also while the valve may have been faulty this was absolutely related to the work that was done, therefore the labor potion should have been covered in the $450 of labor I initially paid 3 days prior. I still think it's a good company and they do good work, however I may think twice before using them in the future.

Response from Plumb It Best LLC
Once again, I sincerely apologize that your valve leaked. As I discussed with you over the phone, there is a term we use in the field, "serviceability". That term means that if I actuate a valve, it should work and not leak. I assure you that if we had seen it leaking, we would have offered to replace it when we were still there. But there still would have been a charge. You did not pay us $100 for James' "Troubles" as you put it, but for a return trip to your house, cutting the water off in the yard, bleeding the house down, breaking the old valve free, and replacing it with a new ball valve. That particular type of valve is the preferred method of shutting down a house as they leak least frequently (yours is the first I've seen) We strive to be as thorough as possible to leave every home and business owner feeling confident they couldn't have selected a better company for the job. I hope the sale of your house goes well and you call us back when you need a plumbing company you can trust.

Sorry you weren't completely satisfied, (Member name removed). I would like to say, though, that by your math, I would usually charge $180 to install a Zoeller, M53 full cast iron body pump with zytel impeller. Plus warranty the pump and labor. The pump alone costs me that. I'm sorry you felt taken advantage on that day, but I assure you I would rather lose money than exploit a customers dire situation. I've worked for companies like that. It's just not who we are or what we do.

I called Scott at 7:15am to see if he could fix my outdoor faucet that would not shut off. He said he would be there between 12 and 1, assuming no delays at his earlier appointments. He quote me $225 for the job. He and his worker arrived at 11:25 and got to work immediately. They finished the job in less than 30 minutes! He gave me the $10 discount for being an Angie's List subscriber, so the job ended up being $215. He also explained the reason why it happened, which I really appreciated. I will definitely call them the next time I need a plumbing job!

Scott of PlumbIt Inc did a good job. Scott answered my call when I called him during business hours after the 4th of July weekend. I had left voice message previous friday evening but did not get a reply. But I did not get a reply from the 2 other plumbing companies I had called either. Fortunately, it was not an 'emergency' problem and I could wait. He gave me an estimate over the phone and stuck to it. However, he was delayed because 'another customer' had an emergency flooding problem. He came as soon as he could, after fixing the 'emergency' issue that his other customer had. He was brisk and efficient and thorough. The toilet bowl in my powder room was overflowing with water when it was flushed. Some water outlet was 'clogged' by paper towels. He was cordial and enthusiastic in completing the job to our satisfaction. He showed us the problem and ensured there were no other 'related' issues. No haggling over the pricing. I will avail his professional services again. I recommend PlumbIt Inc to others in need of quality plumbing work in their house.
