I have and had a full schedule when I spoke with this customer. Unfortunately he required a time frame that did not work with ether party involved.

We were looking for someone to build our cabinet and were given his name by a mutual associate. Mr. Miller worked woth us and gave us an estimate. He completed the project in a little more time than at first estimated, but the finiished product was superb.
Description of Work: Michael constructed a cabinet from a design we provided. The finished product was outstanding. The truest test of the quality is that every cabinet maker we showed it to only used superlatives.

Response from Miller's Millwork, INC
This was a simple project with a non-stock trim that was not difficult to reproduce. I appreciate the high rating received and would be happy to work for this kind and friendly customer again.
Projects: The rolling table, while different from most of the furniture Miller features at his website, is a stunning success. I had designed the table based on client specifications for a Chinese-style black lacquer table that could roll over the ottoman to be used as a table or even as extra seating. Miller gave us wheel (caster) options to choose from and we were thrilled with the final selection's ease of function and look. The table itself is so beautiful and his and quot;stainmasterand quot; (as I refer to his wood refinisher) is expert: he was able to give my client the 1/8and quot; line trim around the surface edge that she wanted to finish off the look. She continues to be delighted with the way it looks, and it turned out exactly as we had been envisioning. His and quot;stainmasterand quot; collaborator is another reason we decided to go with Miller's Millwork since matching stain colors was very important to my client. For the built-in, Miller fixed issues that remained from the previous contractor and greatly improved on the existing. His on-the-spot drawings are excellent and very helpful along with the on-site discussions with me and my client. The built-in project was completed just a couple days over the estimated time frame--just a couple days is in itself amazing for custom contracting projects!--but even that 1-2 day overage was only due to the Snowstorm of the Century (Feb. 2-5, 2011)! What a week! So this of course was perfectly fine and my client was absolutely thrilled with the final product including the hand-turned finials he created. They were more elaborate than we had discussed and sketched in our meeting but they turned out so beautifully and my client loved them. The real star element (in addition to the finials) is the and quot;waterfalland quot; effect of the wood used for the counter top. Even the and quot;shoeand quot; he added around the bottom edge is exquisite, perfectly fit along a curve and just finishes off the whole piece beautifully. The fireplace surround replacement of appliquand eacute;s turned out nicely as well and fits what my client dreamed of. He provided three books of appliquand eacute;s for her to choose from and she is very pleased with how it looks. His pricing was the highest of the multiple bids we received for this job but my client chose him primarily because of his top quality workmanship. He brought along an assistant contractor for de-installation and one for installation. Both were great to work with, and I was appreciative of the respect they showed toward my client, their care as they worked in her home and with clean up, and their attention to the building's rules. The installation process was one long day but it went smoothly and as planned. Working with Miller's Millwork was hands-down one of the very best contractor experiences I or my client have had--if not *the* best! This company and proprietor are A+! Thanks to Angie's List and big thanks to Michael Miller. I hope to work with you again in the future.
Description of Work: My client and I had an exceptional experience with Michael Miller of Miller's Millwork and we are pleased to offer the highest recommendation for this company. The work was exquisite and each piece serves so many functions. Miller was so responsive, created a custom order as we wished, and took our ideas and improved upon them. We worked on three main projects. One was the creation of a custom rolling table to fit the client's existing ottoman. The second was the fixing of a built-in entertainment center that had been improperly installed by the original contractor along with the addition of custom turned finials and other details. And the third was a re-do of fireplace surround details including replacing appliqués. First I will say that I was immediately impressed by Miller when he called back within the half hour of my emailing from Angie's List. And we had a couple of lengthy phone discussions about wood after I described the projects to him. I appreciated his expertise immediately and the time he gave to the discussion told me right off the bat told me that this was an "old world style" craftsperson, someone who cared about wood and the business enough to spend time discussing wood types with a potential new customer. Secondly, we were able to set up an initial meeting soon after and in subsequent communications via email, Miller was always prompt in his replies and clear about the time framework so we knew when he was available and had a good idea of when the projects would be started and completed. (In the spirit of full disclosure, the only thing that bothered me during the first meeting was Miller's cellphone's jarring ringtones that interrupted our conversation and which he did step off to the side a couple of times to answer without comment. In the grand scheme it's absolutely not a big deal but since I am giving a long and honest review, that was the only thing that I found strange since I'm kind of old-fashioned and find modern tech sometimes irritating. Luckily, it was just at that particular meeting and I absolutely understand that business is busy especially for a proprietor. Again, in light of his positivity, responsiveness and amazing work, this was absolutely not an issue. Miller is confident about what he does and rightly so because his work truly is the best. His confidence put me and my client at ease. Items that need to be covered are covered, and you feel totally secure knowing that he is handling the job. His portfolio of exquisite woodwork shows the level of quality that he achieves and it is stunningly beautiful work. He enjoys what he does and we appreciated that. Multiple options were presented.

This was not an easy project by any means, location was difficult to park at for my delivery truck, elevator was very small and walls were very inconsistent. The cabinets had to be built in small components and painted in a non conventional manor. The Entertainment center was a project that was worked on by two different contractors before me. I was fixing there mistakes or incomplete sections of the overall cabinet. The customer was easy to work with. Denise Akpenm listened and discussed all issues concerning the three projects. I have tried to change my cell phone habits when with customers and found it easier to listen to customers when the cell phone is not ringing all the time. I enjoyed these three projects overall and would work for this customer again.

Michael did a fantastic job with coming up with ideas to solve problems and with providing beautiful, detailed work on everything he touched. He is truly an artist.
Description of Work: Michael reconfigured cabinets in our kitchen during the installation of new countertops. He also installed a beautiful walnut-with-oak-inlay top on the kitchen desk and a walnut valence around the bottoms of all existing kitchen cabinets.

The job went perfectly. Micheal was communicative, prompt, and professional. The counter top was special ordered and built with a 1950's style stainless steel metal edge. This required the approximately thirteen foot "C" shaped counter top to be built and installed in a small kitchen in one piece. Michael also built a small cabinet for us. Both the cabinet and the counter top were installed with no gaps or seams showing - BEFORE CAULKING! We could not be happier with our new kitchen. I highly recommend Miller's Milwork
Description of Work: Miller's Millwork built and installed a custom counter top, prepared a 24' opening for a new dishwasher, and built a new small cabinet in our kitchen.
