Guardian Asphalt Protection and Maintenance

I am a property manager for Apartment Solutions in Naperville. One of our apartment buildings needed some asphalt work in the parking lot and on the aprons. Rafael and Amy were both a pleasure to work with. They provided 3 options to address the issues along with the pros and cons of each. The work was done quickly and professionally and both the owners and tenants are thrilled. Apartment Solutions will be using Guardian for any future asphalt repair, replacement and/or maintenance.

Absolutely terrible he kept hidden fees

They did an excellent job. The seam connecting the patch to the old driveway is slightly noticeable, but probably after a couple of seal coats will disappear.

Guardian chose to apply sealant knowing that rain was imminent within a few hours. After the rain washed away some of the sealant in areas, it became obvious that the original surface prep was done poorly or not at all. They did not repair cracks as advertised nor did they remove vegatation from edge areas as their website and documentation describes. After contacting them via email, they returned a second time and applied some crack repair and sealant to some areas and missed others. First time I've used them and last time too. Too bad, I like supporting veteran owned businesses but the quality of installation is poor. Sealant is very thin or missing in areas (see photo sample area). I wouldn't expect to last a few months. Dissapointing.

Punctual and work well done. Most importantly their customer service was awesome. Shout out to Amy, who I believe mans the phones. Very professional, returned my calls when appropriate and provided timely updates on the status of the team out to do the job. In an industry where most people don’t even return your calls during their busy season, this was appreciated. Guardian is definitely recommended.

Guardian applies with a brush, not a sqeegy, so the application of the sealer left brush marks on the driveway. I was told they should go away after a day or two to let the sealer settle. After 2 weeks, I still had brush marks on my driveway. I sent payment in with a letter of my dissatisfaction, and although they apologized and said they'd come out again to re-seal, when they did, the person who came out gave my wife a hard time for it. They did it again, but they used a brush again. I used to pave and sealcoat, so I know what to look for, and although they were using a quality product, the application of it was what I had an issue with. That and the fact that they gave my wife a hard time for something they didn't get right in the first place. Give your customers the choice of brush or squeegy and I can guarantee most if not all will choose the squeegy as it won't leave brush marks on your driveway. I give them points for trying to make things right, but I cannot forgive how my wife was treated on the second attempt. FAIL! I will not be recommending Guardian to anyone else in my neighborhood.

I called and talked to a friendly guy about my driveway. He sent someone out within a couple days to do a free estimate. The price was lower than others I called. I called to have them complete the job, and they came within the timeframe they provided. The driveway looks great - they edged the sides and filled in the larger cracks. The material they used resulted in a very nice looking, dark black driveway. Time will tell whether the material was of high quality, for the time being, I'm very satisfied.
