My husband and I purchased a home that was seemingly perfect; little did we know the heating and cooling system would cause so much Chaos. Lucky for us we have American Heating and Cooling Specialists. We came across this listing here on Angie?s List, and although we had only read a few prior reviews, we took a chance and called these guys. We were EXTREMELY impressed! Dave the owner, is a very hard working guy, he is honest and straight forward and explains exactly what is wrong and how he is going to fix it. We were also very happy with the charges and work he performed. Very fair and reasonable! Dave is very professional and extremely friendly. We have used him for all of our heating and cooling needs and have NEVER had a problem. It?s wonderful to know that we have a permanent HVAC guy!!

The guy came as soon as he can, and got to work immediately. He really knows what he is talking about, and performed the service admirably. The work was exceptional and we will definitely use him again.

Rarely can I say that my experience with folks in the service industry is excellent. Well I can say that today. Last evening (Friday night), on one of the hottest days of the year, our air conditioning stopped working. I found David on Angie’s list and call him early in the morning. He said he would be out by 12 noon. David was early and in and out in no time. I am still pinching myself and so grateful that he came out, diagnosed and fixed the problem. He was quick, professional and charged a fair price. And he did not charge us extra because it was Saturday! Thanks David for a wonderful experience!

Unit went out and my fiance called Four Seasons. The quote was significantly higher than what I had previously paid for a 3 ton unit with American. So, we called American. The price was significantly better and Dave was very responsive to my calls regarding timing and questions.

The owner came by on a Saturday when our heat went out. He fixed our heating system right away with ease. He was courteous and very knowledgable. We would definitely use him again. In fact, my husband and I plan on calling him today to schedule maintenance on my A/C unit.

Dave is a complete gentleman. From the initial call to his check-up call, Dave answered all my questions and went beyond the call to help me understand how work was not completed by prior companies, but how it was completed in detail by him. He replaced a faulty, ganky humidifier hose that was heretofore unused as well as replaced the furnace's board, which was NOT fixed by the prior company, despite my being told otherwise. Dave is helpful, timely, thoughtful, and genuinely cares about the work he does. If you're not happy and fully knowledgable about what took place, Dave's not happy either. He's a true gentleman and runs a dependable company. I have a new HVAC company!

Dave was a true pro, through and through. Not only did he take the time to explain what he was doing, he also allowed me to help take part in the decision process. Basically he could have just said,"its broke and you need 800 bucks worth of parts, period". But instead, he put on the hard start, put more freon in the unit, and while I do need a motor (350 bucks), he showed me a way I could keep it operational now until the end of autumn so I don't have to replace it until spring of next year when I am more able to afford that. He even came by himself, which he explained also keeps costs down for the customer. He took the time to explain why he was doing what he was doing, and how he was helping save me money. That is something I truly appreciated as this was not a good time for me to spend a lot of cash. Later that day I had a question for him, now mind you this in 8 pm on a Saturday and he answered on the second ring, listened to my concern and promptly told me what I needed to do fix my problem. I would highly recommend Dave's company, AMERICAN HEATING & COOLING SPECIALISTS, to anyone having HVAC or other issues. Besides it seemed like he knew d*** near every appliance in my house as I made small talk with him while he was working, so I will consider calling him if other things need attention in my home. When my air conditioner went out they came out the next day and had my new air conditioner in within the week. The price was reasonable and they were very helpful without ever trying to push additional products and services only provided me with options that I chose from.

I called on a weekday afternoon because my air conditioner was not cooling the house. Someone was available to come out that night, but I wasn't going to be at the house to meet them. Instead someone came out the next morning. They were on time, efficiently performed the needed services. Recommendations were made on additional work, but they were not in any way pushy. The air conditioner has worked with out issue since.

They came out to do an inspection and were out the following day to do the replacement and repair. They were very responsive to me throughout the process. I did not look around for prices, but they seemed to be reasonable.

Dave did a great job, showed up on time, and was courteous. He checked the system, recharged the unit, and rechecked the A/C functions. I ll use them again and would recommend them to anyone.

Late one morning I found that the sump pump in our finished basement had failed, that the water level had risen to about 5'' below (carpeted) floor level with a few inches of snow in the forecast. Dave came over a couple of hours later and replaced the sump pump with a new one that is more powerful than the old one was. He services our HVAC needs but we don't have a service agreement, so his quick response was all the more noteworthy. I think he rearranged his schedule.
