Suburban Floor Crafters

We had 3 bedroom floors that needed refinishing. We got 3 estimates and Flootcrafters was the lowest by a lot. We are very happy with how our floors turned out. The work crew was courteous, neat and on time. Kevin was always available to answer any questions. Would definitely recommend this company!

Great job. Fast in and out. It did smell a lot but they made me aware of that. I went with oil and it was very stinky and harsh. So, if your sensitive you'll want to move out of the house for about 5 days. The oil finish is way nicer than the water based, in my opinion with past wood floors. Nice natural amber color. The installer were very neat and cleaned up most of wood particles and trim looked fine as well. I did also have to fix a circuit breaker in my panel that blew apparently with the floor machines, but I guess these things happen. Other than that which wasn't a huge deal, I would definitely recommend them.

The work was done very well and in a timely manner. I really appreciated Kevin's communication with me and willingness to answer my questions. I originally wanted solid hardwood, but I was installing the wood on a cement slab. After discussing it with Kevin, I ended up going with engineered hardwood instead (if I had gone with solid hardwood, it would have raised the floor height by 1.5 inches which would not have worked well with my fireplace threshold, dishwasher, and entry doors). The final result is absolutely beautiful! The installation of the upstairs hallway was an add-on and they were very willing to accommodate the additional work at my convenience. I am very happy with how everything turned out.

The men that were here provided respectful, prompt service. The floors look beautiful! Their estimation of 3 days working was correct and an extra day of dry time. I was somewhat prepared for this big job, and it was still daunting (moving large pieces of furniture, arranging to stay elsewhere, coordination of entering & exiting & securing home). Now that all is back in order, it was well worth it!

I had interactions and estimates from other flooring companies as well as Suburban Floorcrafters and just had a gut feeling that this was the company to go with. They worked with my schedule, sent me an estimate very quickly and Kevin was convinced that my floors could be 'brought back to life', even after tenant abuse (another non-Home Advisor contractor told me he might just recommend that I reinstall carpet, that he didn't think the floors would be salvageable). The crew at Suburban Floorcrafters was professional and very dedicated to obtaining a favorable end result. Not a great thing to admit, but I actually cried when I saw what the completed floors looked like, they did an AMAZING job. The floors are beautiful. All pet stains and years of wear are gone, no staining required, just persistent sanding, by these absolute flooring pros. Thank you to Kevin and his crew for working with me throughout the entire process the way they did, I will recommend them to anyone and everyone I can.

The process went very well. Kevin was VERY responsive to my emails and calls, answering all my questions. They helped demo the floor and remove some of our furniture which was a big help. In addition they took out and put back in all our appliances. The floors look fantastic, we are very pleased with the work. They gave us a timeline and stuck to that, which was helpful for planning as we were displaced during the process. My experience with other companies in the trades is they take days or weeks to respond to requests or questions, Kevin was always prompt with our correspondence. Overall it was a great experience.

We were doing an extensive remodel and he worked well with the other workmen and painters. It is a dusty job because of the sanding. After the first day. the dust was minimal. He was very flexible with scheduling with us and with the other workers.

This is a stressful procedure since we had to totally empty the rooms of all items big and small. Kevin had his guys move the large pieces into our garage. Then we had to "get out of Dodge" for almost a week. He assured us it was not necessary as long as we did but with a cat and a dog I wanted the extra assurance there would be no problems and there were not. The floor looks great. I do not see any areas that he missed. Thanks to Kevin's keen eye we had the vinyl flooring removed and the hardwood underneath refinished which really pulls the rooms together.

Everything went just as I dreamed it would . . . From the initial price quote to the finished job. They explained in precise detail what they would do to get the job done, and did it very well. Very professional and thorough. And I appreciated the expert advice. I really needed someone I could trust to improve my old wornout floors, and they dida beautiful job. I'm very happy.

Kevin and his crew performed miracles! I asked him to refinish the floors while I was away on business for a week - and when I came back, the house was transformed! A drab, scratched and gouged floor is now gleaming polished red oak. I'm very impressed. The carpenter also cut in the air conditioning vents, so now they're flush oak pieces. They look fabulous. I waited a few days before walking on it, and a week before moving furniture in, and so far it seems to be holding up very well. Highly recommended!

I was quoted by 4 companies and chose one of the "middle" quotes. The day the men were to start work, I was informed they were not coming and that they might be able to make it the following week. With all my kitchen cleared out, I anticipated 2 weeks of having to eat out waiting for a company I no longer trusted to do the job. I called a friend, who is an interior designer, and she gave me the number for Kevin at Suburban Floor Crafters, along with a good referral. Kevin had his crew at my house the next day and did a beautiful job on my floor! I felt completely at ease using this company, and their work is an A rating. I paid more than the original company's quote, but I certainly got great value for my money! Thank you Kevin and your terrific crew of guys!

We have been very pleased with their work both times. Kevin Murphy is always very responsive by phone or text. The estimates were right on the nose - no hidden charges. We had some very difficult older stairs that needed to be ripped out and replaced with oak treads and risers - Oscar did an EXCELLENT job! They were also very accommodating in laying out stain samples on my floor to help me choose the right color. We would definitely recommend this company and would use them again!

We were very happy with there work, Kevin was a great communicator with our contractor to keep the project on schedule. He also tested our subfloor for moisture conditions compared to the moisture in the wood to make sure it was at 6%-8% so we would have no problems and also had wood acclimate for a few days to get use to home. Kevin was on top of job from start to finish (He knows his stuff) We were very happy with this company and have told a few friends about them for future work ...

Service was excellent Kevin communicated with his crew to keep everything going smoothly.

They did a great job at blocking off the rest of the home. Plastic sheeting was hung at all the open entry ways to the rest of the home. A little paint came off when the adhesive was taken down, but not a big deal. The whole process took 3 full days and we stayed away for a full six days just to be safe. Floors turned out beautiful. We did not have them stained, just sanded and poly'ed with a satin finish. The floors looked brand new. No "sanding" marks at all. Very happy with the results. Thank you.

I just kicked them off the job. 1. They got stain all over antique stone fireplace. 2. Stain on brand new marble counter top. permanently stained. Entire counter top needs to be replaced. 3. Stain all over baseboards. 4. Had to repatch brand new work. 5. Ruined stair tread by scraping wood rather than sanding. 6. Ripped out boards in various location attempting to patch them in. A terrible botched job! Kevin seems to have an excuse for everything. He loves to blame everyone but himself. His excuses are so great that he must be used to giving them all the time. I have pictures, Kevin! Can't wait to hear your blameful rebuttal!!!

The floors went well. Installation was on time and on budget. The staircase redo turned into a fiasco. Initially the stairs were carpeted. The carpet and old stair treads were removed. The contractor asked it we wanted the old treads removed and since they were pine we said yes. The new treads were installed but were thinner so tread spacings were not equal which introduced a tripping hazard. We asked for a solution to the problem and the contractor became defensive and tried to say it was our fault. We went ahead with a solution of introducing spacers but the spacers were outdoor deckwood which warped and made the problem worse. The contractor again tried to shift responsibility to anyone other than himself and was not willing to step up and really fix the problem so we paid him off and hired someone else to do it right.
