Save Wood Kitchen Cabinet Refinishers

We wanted our kitchen cabinets refinished rather than replacing them. We contacted Save Wood based on reviews from Angie's List. Dave came out to our home, brought samples of their work and gave us a price. He was very friendly and answered our questions. It seemed reasonable and we decided to go with them. He said the holidays were approaching and they were busy, so it would be a couple of weeks before they would begin the process. Overall, once they were finished, we were pleased with the cabinets. Save Wood added trim, glazed it as we asked and they look very nice. However, there were things along the way that we were not as pleased about. We were not aware that it would take over 3 months for the work. Many messages and emails were not responded to during the process. Since completion I have emailed and called and these have not been responded to. There were a couple of times I visited their workspace, to keep things moving. Everyone I encountered was friendly. Would I use them again? I'm not sure. Although the quality was good and I love my cabinets, the responsiveness needed improvement and was very frustrating during the process.

Dave was very responsive. He was able to match the cabinet color and texture with the our other cabinets. The cabinet door was painted back at his shop. He spent he finished the cabinet in my home. He left the work complete and our home clean.

Dave was pleasant and professional...returned my calls promptly and answered my questions. He finished the job much sooner than promised to my delight. I am so pleased with the work he and his painters did; my cabinets look like they came out of a showroom.

Honestly, start to finish I can not say enough about how happy I am with the job Save Wood performed. All work was performed in an utmost professional manner and Mark, the painter and Jose, the carpenter were cordial, respectful and did top notch work. The owner, Dave could not be more accommodating! I am truly impressed! It's only been a week and I have had so many compliments on the complete transformation. If you are considering new cabinets... Don't do it... I have a brand new kitchen. The work they did has made an amazing difference. The results are beautiful! I have definitely increased the value of our home for a reasonable price. We met with Dave the owner and worked with him every step of the way. He is knowledgeable, not pushy and helpful in every way. Dave was excellent to work with! After seeing the qaulity of their work we got started with them. When trying to pick a color I sent Dave a bunch of things we liked and he was able to nail it on the 1st sample. After deciding on a color they came and took the doors to beginw ork. The painter was onsite for a week and was very nice and meticulous about the paint. Once he was done they came back and added the doors and hardware. It looks amazing!!!! We cannot thank them enough for all the hard work and detail that went into the project. I keep walking into the kitchen and cannot beleive it is my house. Looks amazing!!!

I met with Dave and immediately liked his easy going, non-pushy personality. He gave me a quote and I decided to have the work done. Dave took a door and did a sample. We agreed he would tweak the color for a little brighter white. I loved the color so all the doors were taken to the warehouse. Dave's crew came to my home to work on the frames. They were all really nice and worked very hard to get everything right. The doors came, handles installed, and it looks beautiful. I am thrilled with my new cabinets. I am recommending Dave and his crew to some of my neighbors who are also interested in having their cabinets refinished. Dave and his crew did a great job. I highly recommend them.

Good work. They technology he uses to save the wood is much better than most custom kitchen service providers. We like the quality and the over all look.

Overall, it was a great process. We worked with the owner Dave, who was top notch. Although we live in the city, Dave was more than happy to drive down to meet us. His schedule was also very flexible in order to meet our demanding work schedules. We had several meetings before the work began to make sure that the color cabinet we wanted was exactly how the finished product would look. Dave provided several samples, and was very patient with us. The overall process went very smooth, and Dave was a pleasure to work with. The finished product exceeded our expectations, and saved us from spending a boat load of money on new cabinets.

Dave presented himself very professionally from the time of booking our contract to executing the final product. He responded promptly to any questions or concerns that we had. We had solid oak cabinets in good condition, but wanted a new look. Dave's company's technique provided us with an option to transform our kitchen to a whole new look, economically and with preserving the wood cabinets we had. Dave and his crew did an amazing job! Dave was prompt and professional. He arrived on time to meet with me and my wife and had a boatload of ideas on how we could improve our existing cabinets. However, after reviewing all out options, we decided to purchase some basic unfinished wood cabinets and let Dave and his crew do their magic to finish and install them to suit our needs. They look absolutely amazing and were just a fraction of the cost of the custom cabinets we would have purchased to achieve the same result. This was an outstanding experience from start to finish....excellent service, beautiful cabinets, and the price was very reasonable!

Save Wood Cabinet refinishers helped me out tremendously with a kitchen remodel. We kept our old oak cabinets and Save Wood refinished them in a sleek black satin finish. The cost was 1/3 of what I would pay for new cabinets. The finish is excellent and should stand up over time. Dave at Save Wood was extremely helpful throughout the process. He made several trips to the house to go over the details of the job and ensure we were pleased with the preliminary cabinet finish before they began the full process on all the cabinets. I would definately recommend this company to my friends.

The first moment my wife and I decided to have our kitchen redone we tried to do it ourselves. Major fail. The day we contacted the company they were nothing but understanding and cooperative in how we wanted our ultimate final product. The estimate was easy, informative and very thorough on what needed to be done, why and a reasonable cost explanation. When the workers came they were on time and got SO much done in the first day I thought they would be done too early! Any change or concern that we had the manager was so nice and easy to work with. They met what we wanted even if we didn't seem to understand what the overall plan was. The final product was more than what we asked for. There were no issues with any part of the project. As soon as we brought something up to the attention of the project manager it was fixed before we had a chance to worry! I would send anyone in my known group of friends, co workers, and strangers to have anything in there entire house done by this company. They were outstanding in every way a company should be and props to Dave Nolte who at the end of the day went above and beyond for us, his customers. We are loyal for life and hope to have Dave and his team come back to do more work on our house soon!

Dave was punctual, met all of my schedule milestones, which were very tight and delevered a re-finsh product that looked like brand new cabinets, allowing us to keep the favorites that had been in my house for decades. His poeple were friendly, courteous and very accomodating to the other trades working in my kitchen. All follow-up concerns and punchlist were handled with ease and attention to detail. I would hire Dave's company again in a minute.

After trying to be Mr. Do-It-Yourself I came to the realization that the quality of finish and color I wanted on a timely basis could not be obtained without a professional. I shopped around local business and mainly got quotes outside my budge until we found SaveWood cabinets. Dave (the owner) came out the same day and gave an estimate on our project. Originally we wanted the doors to be sanded and I would do the staining. He gave advice on the quality of the wood and quoted around 1.2k for sanding. I had to do my research so I took a few days to think about it. I called him several times asking about different variations of work I may want done, the cost, and his professional opinion on how it would look. He responded within a few hours of each of my phone calls and gave clear honest answers. It seemed he had a good grasp on the finish I was looking for along with the budget I was working with and suggested a different option I didn't know was possible, factory finish/resurfacing. It wasn't staining nor painting, but something in the middle that gave the factory finish you see on a lot of mass produced wood work. I was astounded at how sharp and real wood like finish it provided while only costing a fraction of what I would pay to get new solid quality cabinets (1.8k vs 6-10k). He came to our home with samples and we loved what we saw, but needed our kitchen done within 2-3 weeks. SaveWood started the next day on our cabinets and finished in 2.5 weeks. He had a worker at our house every day except Saturday's and Sunday's until it was finished. They even came in on the final weekend to make sure it would get done on time. They called the night before each day and gave an hour window on when they would arrive and were on time each day. Our kitchen opens up with a large breakfast into our living and dining room, therefore, they taped up plastic sheeting to enclose the entire work area. Jose, was the main worker at our place and was very polite and not to mention a skilled worker. His detail and work was fantastic. Every was on track until the final two days of work. There was an issue with the final clear coat of sealant that was placed on the frame work. Certain spots looked as if there was a texture or bubbles. We showed Jose the next AM when he came in to hang up the doors, but quickly agreed that more work needed to be done. They took two more days smoothing out the the clear coat and touching up and parts that we noticed issues (which were small and very limited). We could not be happy with our end product, the professionalism Dave and his workers displayed, and their attention to our requests (time and finished look). They truly tailored our requests. We highly recommend SaveWood to anyone who is looking to get their kitchen refinished at less than a quarter of the cost it would take to replace, but still maintain a high quality finish.

We moved into a large home with a huge kitchen. The cabinets were great quality but needed some updating. Dave and his team did an amazing job painting them in espresso and antique white. they look absolutely incredible!!! We looked at pictures online to help us choose the exact shade of white we wanted and they turned out perfect. The project took almost a month bc the size of our kitchen but it was well worth the wait.

We are extremely pleased with the outcome of the refinishing of our kitchen cabinets. We were in communication with Dave from start to finish. The whole process went very smoothly. First was a meeting at our house, taking measurements and getting a proposal written up. Then we choose a color and they did an excellent job matching exactly what we wanted. A sample was made on one of our cabinets and brought to our home for final approval. When all of the cabinet doors were finished, we set up a time frame for installation and the rest of the work to be done on site. Dave and his crew were very professional and always available if we had any questions. They did an excellent on the refinishing and installation. We would definitely recommend Save Wood!
