RBR Total Home Remodeling

I received a quote for a kitchen remodel and requested work to start shorty after my closing date which was a month out. I repeatedly asked for RBRTHR for their preferred fabricators as they requested I supply the kitchen sink, backsplash and countertops. I was hoping to pick out my finishes in the month leading up to the proj so that when the team was available they could hit the ground running. I was told that RBRTHR does not give their preferred vendor list to just anyone and I had to submit payment first. This seemed odd as again the work wasn’t starting for a month. I submitted payment hrs after closing and was told the project would be delayed at least 3 wks bc I hadn’t ordered the kitchen sink yet. I was never told this was a dependency to starting. I asked for a timeline of events so I would know what other dependencies and dates I needed to hit. Instead I had an email suggesting the dates likely wouldn’t work for my timeline. Red flag again. The next day I had a local (in city) contractor provide a competitive quote as RBRTHR didn’t seem to want the project and sure enough received an email from them later that day saying they didn’t want to move forward. I’m doing several projects on my new home and all the other vendors from design, plumbing, electrical, flooring have been great to work with. Thankfully RBRTHR is the only dud. I would never recommend them as their communication and attitude is so poor. Btw I had also asked them to quote refinishing my floors. They declined saying they could work with the cherry floors. I had another contractor do the work and it looks fantastic.

I loved working with RBR. They completely renovated my kitchen, moved a powder room and installed a wine bar. The project came in on time & on budget. Tom provided a detailed proposal & was patient with all my questions. He did a great job walking me through each stage of the project along the way and regularly checked in on the progress. Adam & the crew were awesome. Very meticulous, great sense of humor, handled little hiccups along the way quickly, and they followed the architects plans to a tee (I had her check!). Adam was here every day of the project, arriving promptly at 8 and leaving at 5, with the work site cleaned up before he left. Last but certainly not least, Lee Ann was such a huge help orchestrating the crew, coordinating material pick-up & deliveries, finding vendors for items I didn’t know I wanted until the job was underway, and she frequently checked in just to see how I was doing. I still swap texts with her today. I had such a great experience, I will use them again to remodel my 3 bathrooms next year!

RBR is an unbelievable company, I highly recommend them, they are true professionals from top to bottom. It was an absolute pleasure working with them, the work they do is the best, very high quality. Frank Folisi was the project manger and did a fantastic job, a pleasure to deal with. Robert the lead carpenter and all his men went above and beyond and pay attention to all the little details. LeeAnn Butler in the front office who collect the money for the payment schedule as well as scheduling work and worker did an outstanding job and was great to deal with. I’m very picky and have no complaints about anything RBR did from beginning to end.

Amazing company! They just finished a remodel of our very old, very ugly bathroom and did a fantastic job. After we left a message on a Sunday morning, Rick called right back. Lee Anne coordinated our estimate quickly and was so friendly. Macin completed the work in the scheduled time and did a beautiful job. Greg, the crew boss, showed up every single morning with Rick to make sure we had what we needed for the day's work. There was never a delay because something wasn't there in time. They planned everything so well that we were barely inconvenienced by this work, even though this is our only bathroom. I cannot say enough about the quality of the work and the excellent service we received from everyone. If you are "on the fence" about a home remodeling job, they are the right team to call.

I couldn't be happier with my experience working with RBR. They worked with me to get the job done within my tight budget, were extremely professional and also got the job done ahead of schedule. Also their communication and project management both leading up to the start date and managing the on-site work left nothing to doubt that they were on top of everything and gave us confidence that we were in good hands. I will use RBR for all my future home renovations and strongly recommend them to family and friends.

We worked with Rick and his crew to have our solo bathroom in an older condo unit remodeled and could not be happier with the results. We received a reasonable quote, got a discount with the Tile Shop and Studio41, and the work was done in the time estimated. When the workmen discovered some issues with our old pipes, we got a quick estimate for the cost and extra days the work would take and it was done ahead of schedule. On the final day when it turned out that Kohler had a piece on back-order and had not told us, Lee Anne worked with Studio 41 to get a replacement piece at no extra cost so everything was installed and ready on time. They kept the dust and chaos at a minimum (no small feat in a 1-bedroom condo) and we were only in a hotel 2 nights of the 8-day project. Room by Room does quality work at a reasonable price and are extremely professional to work with. They come highly recommended.

I want to take a moment to provide feedback and review on RBR. We recently had a bathroom remodel project. The PM (Rick) and team are all above and beyond, and we couldn’t have asked for more. They’re well organized before and after the project, extremely customer centric, genuinely care about our budget, and focus on the objectives and our tight timeline. More importantly, the workmanship was incredible, and the work performed each day were on schedule (some time ahead of schedule) and maintaining a clean environment. Yes, that’s another big compliment! They came in early in the morning, get the work done, and quietly leaves the house keeping it so clean like they were never here. We were blessed to have this team. I couldn’t say enough good thing about RBR and this team. When we needed changes to the project, they’re all contributed ideas and improvised as a team. Of course, we need to be reasonable customers with changes in project cost, but they were there to help us meet our objectives. Excellent work!

I had a great experience with RBR. Rick, Jack and Lee Anne were all responsive with my needs and inquiries. Jack who did the actual work did a great job with all aspects and did a wonderful job in creating a great transition of my wood flooring to the new ceramic tile he installed. I felt the entire process went smoothly from demolition to installation. The vendors that they recommended for the supplies were very helpful. Everything was reasonable priced. Project went quickly and was done in three weeks. This was in part that everything was already onsite. The price I noted is for the work they provided and not the bathroom accessories. I have already referred them to friends and family.

Awesome. They were on time. They said two weeks and it took two weeks. Professional. Neat.

Extremely well. RbR crew were punctual, respectful, and provided high quality craftsmanship. They stayed true to their schedule, and kept me regularly updated. I’ve had many remodeling jobs over the years, with good results most of the time; RbR was the most professional team I’ve worked with- very detailed planning and very responsive.

RBR was beyond exceptional. I cannot thank them enough, which is why I’m giving them a five star review all the way around. Lee Anne was our first point of contact and she scheduled a meeting with Frank (forman) and he came to look at the bathroom and gave us an estimate. Every single person we came in contact with at RBR was beyond professional. I had gathered about 3 other estimates and RBR’s was the lowest ($11,500 for labor + materials). I think the best part of this process was that we were allowed to pick out whatever we wanted as far as materials went. RBR has partnerships with The Tile Shop and Studio 41 - so you get their contractor discount (20%). We were able to come in under budget with labor costs from RBR and our materials over all. ($15,475) The workers were beyond nice and kind and especially clean!!!! We live in a 45 story high rise and if there’s any dust left in the hallway you will get charged some maintence fee. These guys were prefoessional, clean, respected our home, etc. such a pleasure to work with. The next time we hire RBR to do the guest bath, we definitely want the same crew! I don’t know how we got so lucky with finding them! Lee Anne is the absolute best project manager I’ve ever come in contact with. I’m pretty type A and very organized...Lee Anne blew me out of the water. She’s on top of EVERYTHING! She’s a god send! Frank was amazing - we loved that he did what he said and he said what he did. No smoke and mirrors. He knows his stuff and guess what - Frank was there almost every day!!! I thought we’d see him maybe once at the beginning or end, but no - Frank was there almost every day to make sure progress was being made. Our crews main guy was Tino. Tino was so sweet and took great care of us. He included us in the process every single day. Hope we get to work with him and his crew again! All in all, if you’re thinking of a renovation, hands down, please look at this company. I will be a repeat customer and plan to spread the word on RBR!

RBR was referred to me by friends that have used them as well and they lived up to the great recommendations! My project was as a result of a fire so we had to wait for insurance to give the ok to begin - RBR was able to squeeze in my project in quickly after we got the ok and complete it quickly. Tom and the whole RBR team was also committed to doing a great job. There was an issue with grout color due to the product and city water and the team put in extra time and effort to make sure the end result was excellent. I've done extensive reno projects in the past with poor contractors, RBR was the exact opposite. They will be my first call for future projects!

For our first major home remodeling experience, we couldn't have been any more pleased that we decided to go with RBR. From start to finish, Tom, Frank and Lee Anne were helpful, honest, professional and eager to help us create our dream kitchen. The quote they gave us was INCREDIBLE and we really appreciated the way they quickly and clearly answered all of our questions (and we had several!). Their professional and patient approach made us feel more relaxed and confident throughout the whole process. Their guys did AMAZING work! It was so exciting to come home everyday and see the new changes--and in just five weeks, we had a beautiful, brand new kitchen! They helped us transform our home and showed us that working with contractors can actually be enjoyable instead of terrifying and stressful. We have recommended them to several of our friends and neighbors and are already looking forward to working with them again on future projects!

INCREDIBLY, this was the first company my husband and I hired whose professionals were ON-TIME EVERYDAY, had someone working at the site EVERYDAY, and did a FABULOUS job. We live in a old house (built in 1897); RBR respected our vision of keeping the integrity of the home we love while helping us make aesthetic decisions. The work included gutting a horrible 1950's bathroom (including a cast-iron tub) and framing part of an adjacent closet for the new laundry area on day one. Mario & crew poured new concrete for the shower base, removed cast iron plumbing & installed new PVC/copper piping, vents/water mains/gray box & 220 electrical for stackable laundry units, added a seat & niche to the expanded shower area, ceramic floor and shower tiling, new window, door casing and floor trim, and installation of new cabinets & glass backsplashes. Mario and his fantastic crew paid attention to details- our bathroom is SHOWROOM BEAUTIFUL!! But everyone-- from Ms. Butler at the home office, to Mr. Folisi, our sales person and main contact, to & Mark the electrician--was responsive, professional, knowledgeable, hard-working, CLEAN, and considerate.Other than some extra costs associated with electrical, (we expected (and budgeted for) this old house encountering some electrical issues) there were NO surprises that threw our budget off track. Of course, what every homeowner dreads...the final inspection; PIECE OF CAKE! Everything was approved and we are loving our new bathroom and second-floor laundry. Our only regret is that we hadn't known about RBR prior to hiring other people for our other major remodels. We would recommend RBR for complete gut remodels and would only want to work with the same crew! THEY WERE AWESOME!!

I would highly recommend RBR. From the first moment we called to get an estimate until we paid the last payment, we had quick responses from Tom and Lee Anne. My husband & I live in a historic home on the national registry with the United States Department of Interior. Our home was designed by students of Frank Lloyd Wright and built in 1905. The home has never left the family, and now is in its fifth generation. Our bathrooms on the second floor were the originals and we started to have a water leak from the cast iron tub that was going into the first floor den ceiling – so it was time to start addressing the problem. After exhaustive research (most contractors wouldn’t even touch it because the home was over 100+ years old) I found ROOM BY ROOM. This contractor had done work for HGTV, and I thought that if they had worked for them, then HGTV had most likely done a great job of vetting this contractor. ROOM BY ROOM was not at all intimidated by our job. In fact, they felt honored to be working in a historic home and considered it to be a great learning experience for all of us. We worked collaboratively on the design for it was important to us that it look vintage and within the Frank Lloyd Wright style, but be new and improved. We succeed in this goal. The project was managed by Mr. Frank Folisi along with a team of professionals all of whom displayed excellent skill sets. The team were honest, hard-working, respectful, good communicators and all around just good people. The quote was on target, the project timeline was spot on, the crew came every day, and because I did not want a dumpster in front of the house they took the garbage out every day and swept up before they left! In fact, the City of Berwyn who inspected the project shared with us how impressed they were with this company. Our bathrooms look amazing, so beautiful and turned out better than I even imagined. My friends and family cannot believe the transformation. Mr. Folisi took pictures throughout the job, so when you have him come out to do your quote, ask to take a look – you will be amazed as well. RBR has been great to work with, professional, collaborative, responsive, clean and reasonably priced.

Sam Fantalvo assessed the project and provided a very comprehensive and detailed proposal. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and provided good suggestions of what needed to be done and he was excellent to deal with. We were very impressed with him. But since we decided to scale down to delay finishing some areas of the remodel, we decided to go with another contractor for portions of the unfinished job. We definitely will consider using RBR in the future.

Feel they did outstanding work. Kept us informed of issues. Stayed on target time wise. A little over budget due to unforeseen problems, but satisfied with the way they resolved it. Could not be happier with the outcome.

All projects went well, finished on time, on budget, with no surprises. Their entire team, and all their subs were class acts and the work quality was exceptional. We had used Airoom in the past for a kitchen and bath project and hands-down RBR was a better proposition in terms of work quality, price, and most importantly, staying on timeline. Both bathrooms turned out fabulous! All workers were very professional and friendly and all concerns were addressed very efficiently. They left our home cleaner than when they came!
